Good Morning and Blessed Ramadan!
Have you ever wondered what the world is like seen through the eyes of someone who has Parkinson's Disease? I would imagine the answer for most is probably no. Other than Michael J. Fox, Parkinson's Disease isn't something that is highly publicized in any media source.
A few years ago my professor and dear friend Dr. Jenny Nelson was diagnosed with the disease. Over time, I have seen the changes in her behavior, but I have seen an unbelievable growth in her spirit. She has taken the bull by the horns and has decided to shut this thing down. She has devoted much of time to studying Parkinson's Disease and bring MAKE people understand what it's all about. She has rallied up a team of students whose feistiness almost matches hers, and has started the PD Narrative Project. They go to different support groups and see how people handle the disease. They look at how the disease is seen in media: blogs, television ads, literature, etc. I applaud her and give her mad kudos for switching up the game! Don't let life change you, change it!
