Dating Jensen and finally landing your first big role

Pairing: Jensen x Reader

Summary: You and Jensen go on a date. A phone call interrupts your evening.

You’re on a date for, what feels like, the first time in forever.

He’s a complete gentleman, pulling your seat out and kissing the top of your head and it makes you melt into his touch.

He knows exactly what you’re going to order. 

You look at the menu for 5 minutes before you get the same thing you always do.

Jensen teases you when you get sauce on your nose.

You threaten to take his dessert away and he pulls out his bottom lip.

That fucker knows what he’s doing.

Your phone rings in your clutch purse and you huff, your moment ruined.

“I’m sorry, Jay.”

“Take it. Might be important.”

You would have turned your phone off but you looked at the caller ID. “It’s Lorraine, you mind if I take this?”

“Go ahead. I’m not going anywhere. Maybe your pasta will.”

“Have the rest. I’m just going to eat your dessert.”

When you return, you aren’t as giddy as when you left. Your face is a little deflated.

“How’d it go?”

Tears spring to your eyes.

Jensen expects the worst from your reaction but when you’re seated, you reveal that you’ve finally got your big break. You’re way too happy to even squeal. All you can do is let the tears fall because you had worked so hard just to get any role and you received the female lead role in a movie that was set to be a success.

Jensen had never been prouder of you and your efforts to get this role.  He had always believed in you and he knew the best was still to come.

A/N: Ah, the tenth and final chapter! I’m so grateful to everyone who read and and commented and reblogged and ... all of things ... for this series. I wasn’t sure after coming back for so long that I would still have any readers, but you all surprised me, and I feel the love! Hope you enjoy this fluffy ending :) 

Masterlist

The airport was busier than normal, but you supposed that was to be expected a few days before the holiday. Once you found a parking spot near the arrivals gate, you zipped your coat a little higher and rushed inside, anxious to both get out of the cold and meet your visitor.

Your threat to Stephen hadn’t been so wrong -- by the time the lawyer was done with him, by the time he settled everything that needed to be made right, Stephen’s choice was more or less sign over everything you asked for or do jail time for fraud. The Farmer’s Stand, Ms. Kitty’s house, and the remainder of Ms. Kitty’s late husband’s estate was now legally yours. The only thing Stephen had left to his name was his own house, though he only stayed there long enough to sell the place and move into Boston.

You put Ms. Kitty’s house back into her name, gave back her husband’s estate, but, at her urging, kept The Farmer’s Stand.

The farm was yours, as it had always rightfully been. As soon as all of the proceedings were finalized, you decorated the inside of the house for Christmas -- you were too excited to wait.

You bit your lip as you waited, raising up on your toes and craning your neck to see through the throngs of travelers arriving at the Boston airport. Worry gripped you just a second before you saw Jensen smiling at you, coming down from his arrival gate.

With an excited squeal, you ran towards him, jumping into his arms. He was ready for it, and wrapped his arms around you tight, kissing you as though he had been gone a few years and not only weeks.

“Missed you,” Jensen mumbled into your ear when you stopped kissing him and pressed your cheek to his.

You drew in a deep breath; you had missed his smell. “Not as much as I missed you.”

Ms. Kitty was waiting at Y/N’s house when they returned from Boston. Jensen held tight to Y/N’s hand as they climbed the steps. He had an entire house to unpack, but he wasn’t in a rush.

Once everything in Attleboro was settled, Jensen had gone back to Texas to tie up some loose ends there, and pack for the move to Roosevelt Street. Leaving Y/N had been difficult, and he knew that she had been anxious about him leaving -- and the possibility that he wouldn’t come back after they spent time apart -- but nightly phone calls and text messages throughout the day had seemed to quell her tension.

“The house looks amazing,” Jensen said, taking his coat off and hanging it in the closet, “though I expected nothing less for Christmas -- or any other holiday. And --” He sniffed the air. “-- do I smell cinnamon rolls?”

Y/N smiled and nodded.

“Apple cinnamon rolls?” Jensen pushed.

Y/N laughed. “Jensen Ackles, you think I would make any other type of cinnamon roll in this house? C’mon, Kitty’s waiting for you.”

The older woman was in the kitchen, starting a pot of coffee. Jensen called her name, and she turned with a smile to hug him almost as tightly as Y/N had at the airport.

“So good to have you back,” Kitty greeted.

“So good to be back,” Jensen returned. “How’s everything?”

“Just as you left it,” she assured.

The three of them sat at the table to catch up, although not much had happened in the last several weeks since Jensen had left for Texas. Considering how eventful his first month in Attleboro had been, they were all grateful for the change of pace.

“Dad will be here tomorrow, and will stay until the New Year. He said he’s happy to help you with any projects at the Roosevelt house, if you want,” Y/N informed him.

Kitty swallowed a sip of coffee and nodded. “Yes, and if you have interior decorating needs, I’m a lady with a lot of time on my hands these days!”

Jensen laughed, and so did the two women. He knew that Kitty was still at the Farmer’s Stand on the weekends, but was otherwise enjoying what essentially equated to her retirement.

While Y/N took Kitty home, Jensen showered and cleaned up the kitchen, then helped himself to another cinnamon roll. His cheek was stuffed and crumbs dotted his short beard when Y/N walked in the front door. She laughed and joined her coat in the closet with his.

“You’re a mess,” she teased, taking a seat on the stool beside him at the kitchen counter.

Jensen nodded. “These are too good to care about not being a mess.”

She reached up to wipe a bit from his bottom lip. “I’m glad you like them. Are you tired?”

“Not as much as I thought I would be after flying today. How about you?”

Y/N shook her head. “I think I’m too excited that you’re here to be tired. We could watch a movie.”

“Lemme guess,” Jensen said, feigning ignorance, “a Christmas movie?”

“Duh!”

He laughed and agreed a Christmas movie would be nice. While he cleaned up again, she went upstairs to change into comfy pajamas. She came back downstairs and set up the movie, then handed Jensen the remote. She snuggled under his arm and, despite her claims to not be too tired, was asleep before the beginning credits of the movie had finished. Jensen smiled and kissed her forehead, settled back to watch the movie and eventually drift off to sleep himself.

Christmas Day, One Year Later

Jensen opened the door and announced his presence in Y/N’s house. His parents followed behind him, marveling at the beauty of the house and the farm. Y/N came bounding down the stairs, eager to meet Jensen’s parents. Once introductions were done between the three of them, Jensen introduced his parents to Kitty, and to Y/N’s father.

He also introduced them to Stephen; after a few months of living in Boston, that man had somewhat come to his senses. He went to his mother and explained that he had always felt he was expected to stay in Attleboro and run the family business, but had resented that self-imposed expectation for a long time. In turn, right or wrong, he had acted out. Time away had helped him work through those issues, and he wanted to to what he could to reconcile. Y/N had been hesitant, but with the encouragement of Jensen, her father, and Ms. Kitty, she had forgiven Stephen, too.

They were all together for the holiday now, and Jensen was nervously excited. He had a reason for wanting his parents here, for wanting all of them together. He only hoped things would go according to plan.

Y/N and Kitty had put a lot of hard work into dinner, and his mother joined in to help after she arrived. They had the food ready quickly, and everyone sat to eat together.

The conversation flowed until bellies were full and plates were empty. Y/N put on a pot of coffee and brewed hot water for hot chocolate, also. Once everyone had their drink of choice, they gathered around the Christmas tree to exchange gifts. He cleared his throat, took Y/N by the hand and pulled her up from her seat.

“Before we do this, I wanna steal you away for a few minutes. Is that okay?”

Y/N looked at the family surrounding them, all with big smiles on their faces and nodded. “Okay, yeah, sure.”

He set both of their mugs on the kitchen counter as he led her out through the back slider. She shivered and huddled close to him for warmth. Their boots crunched through the snow as they walked toward the orchard. The trees were lit up with multi-colored lights; silver tinsel fluttered in the light breeze and reflected off of the light.

Jensen stopped them close to the trees where he reached for her hand and laced his fingers with hers. “Do you remember the first time we stood here like this?”

Y/N looked up at him with a smile. “Yeah, I do.”

He took her other hand. “That was the moment I fell in love with you, I think. It was the moment my heart knew you were the one -- you were the reason I came here. Not the farm, not really.”

Jensen kept a hold of her hands while he kneeled on one knee in the snow. He let go of her hands long enough to take the ring box from his pocket, and present the ring to her. Y/N’s hands flew to cover her mouth.

“You are the reason, Y/N. You’re my reason, for everything. I love you. Will you marry me?”

She sniffled back happy tears. “You’re gonna get frostbite on your knee.”

“That’s your concern right now?” Jensen chuckled.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t expecting this, at all. I think I’m not processing.” With a deep breath, Y/N composed herself. “Yes. Yes!”

Jensen slid the ring on her finger then stood and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her sweetly, not entirely unlike the first time they had kissed. Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck and Jensen knew in that moment, with complete certainty, that he was home.

Small Town Friday Night

Pairing: Jensen x Reader 

Warnings: drinking too much, falling down...kind of like me on a Friday night ...sorry not sorry.  A/N: so I wanted to some fluffy drabble but I guess I am allergic...so this is like 99% fluff and like 1% angst. It’s also my first Jensen work, I started out with Dean but I couldn’t see him being this soft. Please note soft is not bad.  It’s not super edited...cause I ain't got time for that...sorry. 

Oh man, what a week. You are so ready for it to be over. The only thing you are doing tonight is going to the bar getting some food and falling asleep early tonight. You don’t even care what everyone is going to say. 

You get to the bar and see all of the normal people, getting ready for the weekend shenanigans. You sit down and talk to all of your friends, going over the week you just head and that everyone is happy it’s behind us. 

Needed a refill you walk up to the bar, taking a seat, not in a rush. You can see your friend K is busy and you have all of the time in the world. You aren’t sure how you missed this perfect specimen of a man, based on look only, that you sat next to. However the bartender did not and she was making eye contact with you that told you, you were either sitting next to someone awesome or some sort of evil monster, so you look. 

“Hey,” is all he says and damn his voice is sweet but confident. 

I say a little prayer before I ask a question, please please don’t be douchey, please. “Hey, how is your Friday?” 

The casual conversation continues, he’s here cause a friend purchased a home in the oceanfront town. He’s doing to doing some reinventing of it for the next few months and maybe be a caretaker after that. His name is Jensen, and you can tell that his story has got more pain then he wants to share on a Friday night. So you don’t pressure him. More than once when he’s talking you find yourself lost in his eyes, to be fair you have completely forgotten about your friends. 

“Oya Y/L/N, what are you doing? Are we getting food?” Kevin hollers walking up. 

“Oh yeah, I forgot.” Kevin just gives me a shit eating grin that says, “you forgot, is that what we are calling it now.” 

“Jensen this is Kevin, Kevin this is Jensen. Kevin just moved back to town and he is a bit of trouble, like out till 3 am, you may wake up in your car or somewhere else. So just consider yourself warned.” 

“Hey, I resemble that remark,” Kevin let’s out with a laugh, “ So yeah food, we all need it, lets go next door. I want tots.” 

“I told you Brian doesn’t like it when you call him that,” I say with a smile. 

“We will see about that, Jensen are you going with us?”

“Sure, I wouldn’t mind a little trouble tonight.” 

“What about a lot, I don’t have anything in small sizes today,” Kevin says as we walk over. 

The night continues on and well, going home earlier is not a thing. You are having a great time with everyone including your new friend Jensen. After dinner, your group moves to the outdoor area where this is sofa seating and big chairs along with a hammock. The temp is just right, and the stars are out thanks to the new moon. 

After some time you find yourself sitting next to Jensen and you aren’t mad about it. Clearly, your friends see that there is something happening between the two of you so they do every to make it more awkward for you. 

“Move over Y/L/N,” Kevin calls coming back looking for a seat. 

“Um no, sit on the ground.” 

“No fire ants, why do you have to be so difficult. Look either his lap or mine you choose,” Kevin says and if looks could kill he would be dead. 

“Good Sir, do you mind?” Kevin asks Jensen as he’s in the process of picking you up. 

“I can’t say no to a beautiful lady.” 

Yup, I am going to kill Kevin, probably with my car. 

After you were placed on his lap, Jensen moved over a bit so that your ass was somewhat on the sofa and just your legs were over his lap. “Is this okay, I mean I can just move and you can sit here,” Jensen whisper.  “No it’s fine, if we change it up there will be more jokes and I think it’s best we  just pull up right now.” 

As the night continues drinks continue to flow, you had already tried to leave 3 times however were offered rides home so you stayed. You are still sitting on Jensen’s lap, with no complaints. He hand has moved throughout the night and is now resting on your lower back, again no complaints. Till well you realize that you have to pee. “I gotta use pee” you softly whisper before you start moving on his lap. He gives you a hand to help you get up and smiles as you walk away. 

There is a small line, but you don’t care you run into a friend that you haven’t see for a while so you are chatting it up. There are picnic tables outside of a few steps that walk up into the restroom outdoors. It’s your turn so you get up and head into the restroom. Looking at yourself in the mirror, you feel amazing. You look cute and are having a great night, you could practically skip back to your group. 

The idea of skipping is probably what did it, walking down the steps you felt it. Your ankle rolling. When you are on the ground didn’t even blink and Kevin, Brian, and Jensen were all there. Yup, not what you wanted to happen. 

Kevin’s the first to say anything, “ What do you need, a ride home, ice, a new drink?” A smile is all you can muster all you really want to do it bury your head in the sand. Kevin has your shoe off and is touching different point on your ankle to make sure that nothing requires a hospital. 

“Y/N, you okay,” Brian asked. 

“I will be,” you answer and he smiles and takes your cup getting you a new drink. 

Jensen has pulled up a plastic chair next to you and is sitting down next to you. “You okay there, princess?”

“Yup, just fall down a lot.”  

“Yeah she doesn't it’s her superpower,” Kevin joked, “It looks like it will hurt a bit tomorrow but nothing long term or that requires a doctor.” 

“Well good I will just continue to be me and fall down more,” I joke. 

“Or maybe not,” Kevin says coming over and placing a kiss on my forehead, “I will be back with ice.” 

“So if you are going to keep this falling down act up, I might have to start following you around,” Jensen said with a smug smile. 

“Why is that? Looking to capture the opposite of grace on film?”

“No, but someone should probably catch you.” 

You can’t help but laugh. “That was pretty good, pick-up-line to use on someone who falls a lot, you get it?” 

It’s Jensens turn to laugh now. The puns and jokes continue for about another 45 mins. It’s now 2 am and Brian is closing the bar. There was a group that was going to head to one last stop for some food, Kevin was talking to them about driving you home and then circling back around to meet up with them. 

“Hey Kevin, I can totally take her home. It’s not a problem,” Jensen says when Kevin comes over. Kevin gave me a look, like is that okay? I smile as if to say why not. 

“Okay Jensen, but here is the thing, if she is damaged any more than she currently is you will be paying for all of the repairs. It’s a small town and I know everyone. We can make you disappear, “ Kevin says shaking Jensen’s hand. 

Kevin walked over to me, “Okay, text me when you get home. You still have that switchblade on you right Y/N, you know just in case.” 

“I am good, have a good night we will talk tomorrow.”  

“Be good kids, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,”  Kevin yelled walking out the door. 

Jensen helped Brian close everything up and then he pulled his car around the front for me to climb in. Just my like it was a truck, not super big but four-wheel drive so I was going to struggle a bit. I try climbing in and I hear Jensen yell, “Hey hey, wait a second.” So I freeze where I am at. When he gets around to that side of the car he doesn’t even blink just picks you up and places you on the seat, helping twist your legs to face forward. 

The ride home was quiet, you can feel the heaviness of the liquor and tonight's events weighing on you as you are trying to keep your eyes open You hadn't even realized that you had fallen asleep till you heard Jensen whispering in your ear about him picking you up and taking you inside. 

“Wait how did you find my place if I was asleep?” 

“Well, sleeping beauty I called Kevin.”

“Hmm that makes sense,” you say borrowing your face into his chest. You can feel him chuckle. 

After he gets you in bed and strips your shoes off, he leans over and kisses your forehead wishing you sweet dreams. Before he can reach the door you let out, “ Stay.” 

“Ah I would love to but we kinda just met and.” 

You cut him off, “ Please I am going to fall asleep in like 10 sec,” you say standing up and unbuttoning your jeans. “ Having you next to me relaxes me and, and I just haven’t had that in more than a minute.” You turn your back to him to take off your bra and climb back into bed. Knowing he’s had enough time to respond, you just assume he’s not that into you or that idea or anything. So you decide to let him off the hook, “ Look, Jensen, it’s no big deal. I...I, well just forget I asked. I am just drunk and tired.”  It’s everything you can do to hold back the tears. You can feel them in the corners of your eyes you can feel the weight on your chest. “Thanks for the ride, have a good night,” you try to say it as softly as you can but your voice still cracks. 

You hear nothing, you’ve already rolled over to face the wall so you can’t see him. But nothing, the door didn’t close. There were no footsteps, just nothing. You can’t help but take in a heavy breath to try and calm your emotions.

“Sweetie, I can’t think of anything more I would like to do.” You hear footstep, him walking closer, shoes coming off pants unbuckling. He climbs into bed in his underwear and tee, wrapping you in his arms pulling you close, “ Did you have a good night?” 

“I did, there was a cute boy there and I think he might like me too.” 

“Hmm that’s a great story, you will have to tell me how it ends tomorrow morning over breakfast. Good night Y/N, sweet dreams.”

“What if you leave Jensen? What if you hurt me? Because you realize I am not good enough for you? Because I can’t give you what you want...what you deserve?” you cried. It was all you could think about lately. All the what ifs of your relationship with him. He looked at you like you had just slapped him in the face.

When you moved to Austin for college the only soul you knew was your roommate. You decided to take a few yoga classes in town to meet new people. It was through the yoga studio that you met Genevieve Padalecki. You and Gen quickly became friends and she appreciated that you always treated her like she was your friend first and not a celebrity. You were the same way with Jared when she introduced you to her husband. It wasn’t until a couple years after you and Gen met that she offered you a part-time job watching their two boys. In the time you had known Gen, those boys stole your heart and you jumped at the chance to spend time with them.

It was by chance that you met Jensen Ackles.

“Hey, I didn’t expect you guys back so soon,” you rose from the couch and started putting your books away when you heard the key turn in the lock.

“Who are you?” a deep voice boomed off the walls in the Padalecki’s family room.

“I’m Y/N, the babysitter,” you told him. “But the question is, good sir, what are you doing here?” You crossed your arms and waited for an answer. Of course you knew who he was, but you had no idea what Jensen Ackles was doing there.

“I need a bottle of wine,” Jensen explained quickly. “Jared keeps several in the cellar. I’ll be right back.” With that he was gone down the stairs before you knew it. He returned a few minutes later with two bottles.

“Red or white?” He asked holding them out to you.

“Dude, I’m twenty and I don’t drink. Why don’t you just ask your date what she prefers,” you scoffed slightly, then took in the look on his face. “I-I’m sorry Jensen, that was uncalled for.” You slumped back into the sofa and covered your face with your hands.

“For your information, it isn’t for ‘my date’, it’s for my mother. She asked for a glass of wine, but I didn’t have any. Secondly, you’re really only twenty?” he asked.

“Yes. College student at UT; third year history major. Again, I am so sorry for what I said,” you apologized.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have just barged in like that, even if I do have a key,” his voice was smooth and calm, his eyes soft as he set the bottles down. “Listen, I gotta go. It was nice to finally meet you, Y/N.” He shook your hand, grabbed his bottles and was out the door. You followed and locked up behind him. Great, you thought, the first time you meet Jensen and you make a fool of yourself.

Over the course of the next few months, Jensen would find his way over to the Padalecki’s more and more frequently. First it was a cookout when he should have been out of town. The next, borrowing some tool he said he needed. You became closer with each drop in. Even though watching those boys made you happy, you found yourself smiling each time you watched them, knowing Jensen would pop in, usually unannounced.

It wasn’t until your twenty-first birthday, a few months later, that you actually got a little nervous when you saw him. Jared and Gen took you out for dinner and drinks at San Jac Saloon. You were seated at a private table in the back, when you felt a warm pair of hands on your shoulders. “Happy Birthday Bits.” He pressed a soft kiss the top of your head and took the seat next to you.

As the night wore on, you and Jared became increasingly drunk. Jensen offered to drive you all home so Gen didn’t have to deal with the both of you. You don’t remember everything from that night, but you do remember waking up with a post-it note on your phone that simply said “Read Me.”

You groaned at the thought of what happened the night before, but unlocked your phone anyway and held your breath, prepared for the worst. What you found melted your heart:

Before you ask, no, I didn’t see anything, you were able to change your clothes all on your own. Secondly, if you don’t mind being seen in public with an old guy, would you have dinner with me tonight? ~Jensen

You stared at the text message for what felt like hours before you remembered you hadn’t answered it.

I’d love to. And look on the bright side...you get a discount on meals and movies ;)

His reply came before you could set your phone back down.

A smile spread across your face and you replied with a thumbs up and a smiley face. You panicked and realized you didn’t know what to wear and called Gen for help. She didn’t need to know it was Jensen, only that you had a date.

You had told Jensen everything early on. It was something he needed to, no, he deserved to know about you. It was better that he knew upfront.  

“Darlin’, why the tears?” Jensen crossed the kitchen and wrapped his arms around you. You and Jensen had only been dating a month and you dreaded this conversation since the first date.

“We need to talk, Jay,” you pulled him to sit next to you. His eyes were filled with concern and worry as he wiped away the tears that had fallen.

“Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out,” he whispered as he held you close.

“You shouldn’t be with me Jensen. You deserve so much better,” your voice was barely a whisper.

“Shouldn’t I be the one to decide who I want to be with? Is this because of your age, because I already told you I don’t care,” he told you.

“No, that is not why, at least not all of it. I can’t ever give you what you want.”

“I already know what I want and it’s you, pretty girl. No more, no less.”

“Jensen, I see the way you are with Gen and Jared’s boys, how great you are with them; how happy you are when they are around. How you look at them with longing. That is something I can never give you.”

“Hey hey, we don’t need to have this conversation today or even in the next few months. I am perfectly happy with where we are and where we are headed. I am already head over heels for you, Darlin’. Talk of babies can wait.”

“Jensen, I can’t get pregnant. I can’t do fertility treatments. Not even in-vitro. I can never give you the child you long for,” you sniffed as the tears came again. “Wait...you love me?” You looked up at him, his face soft and full of love.

“You caught that huh? Well, I may have accidentally confessed to being in love with you, but all that other stuff? That can all wait. If we can’t have babies, we can explore adoption or a surrogate, whatever. I just know that I can’t live without you.”

“You say what if I hurt you? What if I leave you? You think you don’t deserve me? Is this about the haters? Ignore them,” Jensen took a step closer to you, but you backed up, keeping him at a distance. You were afraid if he held you, your resolve would crumble.

“No, it isn’t that, Jensen, but I need to leave. I can’t be here anymore,” you moved past him and were almost to the door when you heard his boots on the hardwoods. His warm hand closed gently around your shoulder and he turned you around.

“The what ifs? Is that what this is all about? Well, before you make your mind up I gotta ask, what if I was made for you and you were made for me? What if this is it, what if it’s meant to be?” his voice cracked with emotion and he stared into your eyes.

“It can’t be…” you broke in. The tears became too much for you and you turned away from him again.

“What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game? What if I just pull you close, what if I lean in? What if one of these days, baby, I go and change your name? What if I loved all these what ifs away?” his voice dropped off and there was nothing but silence. The seconds ticked by.

What if he walked away? What if he realized you were right? You slowly turned around and found Jensen down on both knees, a small ring box in his hand.

“I wanna change your name. Who cares about the what ifs?”

My Stinky Roommate

Part 1 of My Roommate, a Fluffy JensenxReader Drabble Series

"So we know that you, Jensen, have a hilarious roommate."

"She likes to think so," I reply with an easy smile.

The fan grins, not nervous at all. In fact, she seems a little... devilish? Mischievous? Whatever it is, I'm instantly on edge. Fans with these looks either have fantastic questions, embarrassing questions, or slightly inappropriate questions. I’m not sure what to expect when it comes to Y/N and her blog.

"Her two and a half million followers on her blog also think so."

"Speaking of the blog," I cut in. "I just want to clear up any confusion: the blog was not originally about me. She started it about one of her past roommates. If she had started it about me, the title would have been something much better like My Handsome Roommate or My Sexy Roommate."

"My Humble Roommate," Misha tosses in, and I chuckle airily before nodding.

"Riiiiight," the fan drawls. She still has that gleam in her eye though. "Anyway, I was wondering if you could explain the Stinky Roommate post she just made a few hours ago."

Oh shit. She made a new one today? What did I do? This con has been going on for hours and I can't even remember what I had for lunch, much less--did I even have lunch? Surely I ate something. Someone would have made me eat, right?

The question. Y/N's latest post. What did I do before I left this morning? Did I even see her? This week seems to have blurred together. Both of us had crazy schedules and I don’t know when the last time we even had a real conversation was.

"What post is that?" I ask. Misha already has his phone out, looking it up, and he laughs loud and hard as soon as he reads it.

"Really Jay?" Misha managed to choke out between laughter. I steal the phone as he continues teasing. "Maison and West are better in the kitchen than that!"

My Stinky Roommate woke up extra early today to make me breakfast. He knew that I had a stressful week and thought that he would do something thoughtful for me before he left for the fan convention in town. How sweet of him, right? Unfortunately for us, we learned that Jensen should not be allowed in the kitchen before he has finished at least one full cup of coffee. It wasn't even halfway through the first bite of delicious-looking waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream that it quickly became apparent that his sleep-deprived brain doesn't know the difference between half a teaspoon of salt and half a cup of salt.

Summary: Y/N’s been working overtime to try and finish filming as quickly as possible, when the director finally calls for a cut, she heads to her trailer. But something is definitely wrong when an intruder comes into the trailer.

Squares Filled: Bed Sharing | Jensen Ackles

Yawning, you pick up yet another energy drink from the fridge. You had been filming all day, awake since three in the morning and now it was almost eleven at night. You were so ready for bed but the others kept messing around, making each other laugh and even though the jokes were funny, you just wanted to get back to your trailer before you passed out  right here on the table behind you. Barely able to keep your eyes open, you were pretty sure you heard them say your name but there were no words that came out of your mouth apart from a nod that you were barely aware of.

You blinked a few times but it did nothing to help clear your foggy eyes. Not even a bucket of freezing cold water would do the trick. But you wouldn't say that out loud as you were sure that the rest of the cast would dump one over your head.

Jensen had been kind enough to talk to the rest of the cast, without you knowing, but you noticed the changes in their work ethic. It felt like the entire crew was feeling what you felt, they hadn't been awake for as long as you had been but they had known the effect of constantly working for more than fifteen hours at a time. Sometimes you wish that you could go back to your shitty job before you realised you wanted to act; the pay was terrible but the hours were so much better for your sleeping schedule, even if you didn’t know it back then.

“And that is a wrap for today. Thank you, guys, you can all head home for a couple of days. We’ll start back up again on Monday.”

There was an indistinct chatter that surrounded you as you nodded your head at some of the crew and the directors. Tired eyes glazing over as you grabbed your jacket and headed back to your trailer.

Jiggling the door open, you leave the light off and you throw your jacket on the couch, making your way to your bed - landing on it with a soft thud. Snuggling into the pillows, you quickly fell asleep but was soon jerked awake at the sound of your trailer door opening- loud footsteps following after. It scared the bejesus out of you when the light turned on and almost blinded you. 

“What are you doing in my trailer, Jensen?”

He choked out a laughing scoff. “Your trailer? Sweetheart, since when did you change your name to Jensen Ackles?”

“What do you mean? What are you talking about?”

“Look around, Y/N. How did you not notice the bed was in a completely different place, with no girly sheets?”

“I was tired, Jense. I didn’t even manage to turn the light on.” You rubbed at your squinted eyes, trying to grab at the covers to kick them off of you. 

“Where do you think you’re going? Go back to sleep, I’ll take the couch. It’s pretty comfy anyway.”

“You could always come and join me. I mean it is your bed.” You yawned again, not fighting Jensen as he grabbed his pajamas. You rolled over to your other side, snuggling into the pillow once more. It felt as if no time had passed before the lights turned off and the bed dipped behind you.

Masterlist

The first thing Jensen did Monday morning was head over to Bartholomew Kemp’s office. He met Mr. Y/L/N in the parking lot, and they walked in together.

Bartholomew heard their case, reviewed the documents Jensen had gotten from Kitty, and then set all of the paperwork aside.

“We have a lot of new tasks on the to-do list, gentlemen,” Bartholomew announced. “I’ve got to contact lawyers and Stephen’s accountant -- a lot of people. Y/N called me this morning to let me know she would like to accept your offer, Jensen, but in light of this new information, I think it’s important that we pursue this first so that sale isn’t complicated.”

“If that sale happens, right?” Jensen asked. “I mean, I love the farm, I do, but it’s Y/N’s home. If this all means what I think it means, she should keep it. I have no problem withdrawing my offer.”

“I’ve had my suspicions about that anonymous offer from the very beginning,” Bartholomew admitted, “but this just might be a confirmation. Stick around if you’d like, gentlemen. I’ll be working on this for a while.”

Both Jensen and Mr. Y/L/N stayed exactly where they were.

Although Jensen was supposed to meet you for lunch, he sent you a text that something had come up and he wouldn’t be able to make it. He promised to take you out for dinner to make up for it, so you microwaved one of the frozen dinners you kept handy for when you were too busy or too lazy to make lunch and settled yourself in Taylor’s classroom.

“Think he’ll show for dinner?”

Taylor frowned. “Why wouldn’t he?”

“I told him last night that I was gonna take his offer. Now he’s canceled lunch.”

“Oh, stop it. You’re going to psych yourself right out of a decent relationship, and I won’t let you do it. Jensen is a good thing. Just let it happen.”

After a deep inhale, you promised her that you would try. You finished your lunch, stopped in the lounge to rinse out your container, then returned to your classroom with a new determination to stay positive. It was difficult to let go of the control you thought you had over your life, but you figured it was high time you stopped trying to control what was out of your hands.

You were pleasantly surprised when you made way to your car to leave school for the day and saw Jensen leaning against your car. Breaking out in a smile, you quickened your step to get  to him. He turned when you called his name, smiling and stretching his arms out to pull you close. He kissed you sweetly, and all of your worries about his intentions faded away.

“This was a little further walk than I thought it was going to be,” Jensen chuckled.

You loaded your bags into the backseat then motioned for him to get in the passenger seat. “I’ve got to make a stop. You mind going with me?”

Jensen leaned over the console and kissed you again. “I’ll go wherever you want to go.”

With a smile, you started the ignition and navigated over to a house on Roosevelt with a For Sale sign in the front yard. It was smaller than the farmhouse, looked as though it had been well-maintenanced. Y/N looked so excited, he didn’t dare ask her if she was sure she was ready to look at new houses.

The realtor took them on a tour through the empty house. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. A spacious kitchen, well-lit living room, and even a sunroom at the back of the house.

“I’ve always wanted a sunroom,” Y/N mused, pulling her jacket tighter.

Jensen smiled, trying to come across as encouraging. “You would make it a great home, Y/N.”

She smiled back, but her heart wasn’t in the expression. The realtor told Y/N that the house had been on the market for a while now, but wouldn’t be around forever.

“I’ll decide soon,” Y/N promised before they left the house.

In the car, she kept her eyes forward. “I know we were supposed to have a dinner date, but could I maybe take a raincheck? I’m really tired.”

Jensen reached over to squeeze her hand. “Yeah, of course. Do you want to go home and nap, and I’ll bring some food later?”

Y/N nodded as she backed out of the driveway. “Yeah. That would be nice.”

She dropped him off at the hotel and he decided to take a power nap of his own before going to the grocery store for the items he needed to cook for her later that evening.

After Jensen made you a delicious supper and ate with you, he cleaned the kitchen while you took a long, hot shower. When you came out, he was laid back on the couch, resting his eyes. You placed a hand on his chest, and his eyes slowly opened.

“I’m going to go back to the hotel, let you have some time to yourself, and I’ll see you tomorrow for lunch to make up for today.”

You leaned forward to kiss him. “You don’t have to do that. You already cooked for me tonight -- cooked and cleaned, in fact.”

Jensen carded his hands into your hair and kissed you, much deeper than you had kissed him. Your hands reached up to hold his face as the moment continued to heat up. You weren’t sure what had suddenly sparked between the two of you, but you were ready to ride it out, wherever the moment took you.

Of course, before you had completed your transition on top of Jensen, the doorbell rang. With a giggle and a groan, you cleared your throat and went to the front door. Your smile quickly changed to a frown.

“Ms. Kitty?”

She swallowed hard and looked back at the taillights of the cab pulling away from your house. Jensen had taken the time to straighten his clothes and smooth his hair, and then stood behind you.

“I’m sorry to interrupt,” she apologized with a shaky voice, “I didn’t know where else to go.”

“Of course, come in.” You took her by the hand and sat her on the couch. “Would you like some coffee? Tea?”

She nodded. “Tea would be nice.”

You started the hot water, and Jensen took Kitty’s coat and gloves to the closet. Everything was quiet until you handed Kitty a cup of tea.

“Jay, tea?” you offered.

He shook his head. “No, I’m going to go, let you ladies talk. You call if you need anything, all right?”

“Okay. Thank you.”

The two of you shared a sweet kiss. Jensen hugged Kitty, then went on his way back to the hotel. You made yourself a cup of coffee, then sat on the couch with Kitty.

She sipped at her tea, working to keep herself composed. You didn’t rush her; some things needed gumption to be said, and you figured she was working up that gumption.

“Steven’s sold my house,” she finally announced, quietly.

You gasped. “What? Why would he do such a thing?”

Kitty shook her head. “My husband’s name was on everything. When we were married, that was just the way things were done. When he got sick, we decided that it would be easier to leave everything in Stephen’s name, since it would all go to him eventually, and then he could help me with the estate, including the house and the business.”

You set your coffee down so that you could hug her. When you pulled away, you asked her again what prompted Stephen to do such a thing.

Kitty’s chin quivered when she finally met eyes with you. “Oh, Y/N. Your family has always been so important to me. That’s why I wouldn’t allow Stephen to cut your products from the market. He -- he’s been reporting your sales wrong. I stumbled across it a year or so ago, and I’ve been trying to figure out what to do. I love you and your family, but Stephen -- he’s my son.” She shook her head. “When Jensen asked me for the sales records on the place, since he had placed an offer, I was actually excited. Someone else would figure it out and could tell you! But then Stephen found out that I had given him the records, and he blew up. My face must have given it away … He’s already changed the locks!”

She began to really cry then, so you hugged her again and let her cry it out. You wanted to find Stephen and beat the crap out of him -- for the things he had done to your family, for what he had done for Ms. Kitty, and there was a tiny sliver of you that wanted to kick his ass just for the hell of it.

“You’re going to stay here,” you decided. Ms. Kitty shook her head, but you wouldn’t allow her to protest. “It doesn’t have to be forever, and if you have to come to the new house with me, that’s fine, too. I won’t let you be out on the streets. And tomorrow, we’re going to talk to someone and get your things back!”

She sniffled and agreed, though you thought it was mostly because she was too tired to argue. After the two of you finished off your cooled drinks, you got her a nightgown to wear and started a load of laundry so she could have clean clothes the next day. While you waited for the wash to finish, you contemplated calling Jensen. Why hadn’t he told you what was going on? Had he already confronted Stephen, and that’s what really set the other man off? But, you knew you were irrationally upset about that part of it. Knowing Jensen as you did, even at this point, it was more likely that he was waiting to get more concrete information before saying anything to you.

For that reason, you sent him a text to let him know that Kitty was staying with you for the time being, and that you had called off work the next day. You asked both Jensen and your father to come over the next morning; between the four of you, perhaps this whole situation could be sorted out.
