A/N: I’m so excited to share this one finally! A very huge special thank you to @supernatural-jackles who inspired me to finish this and gave some very helpful feedback! This is one of my favorites I’ve ever done!
A/N: This was written for Lau’s @dancingalone21 Summer Escape Challenge. This is like two years too late I’m so sorry for that love. I just had so much going on for a while that I just couldn’t write. My chosen destination was Honolulu, Hawaii. No beta and I know this is crap but this is my first piece of writing in a while so please take pity on me I’m rusty.
Summary: When you walk in on your fiancé in a compromising position, you pack up and take off on what would have been your honeymoon with your best friend. While in Hawaii, you run into Jensen who will forever change your life in a few short days.
One week. That was it before you were married to the love of your life Taylor. You couldn't wait. You had been planning this wedding for the last year and a half and it was finally here.
You had your final dress fitting today and it fits you beautifully. You felt like a princess. All your last final details were pretty much set. Now, all you had to do was check with Taylor to make sure he had all his final details put together.
That's where you were headed now. You were headed home to your beloved fiancé not expecting what you were about to walk into.
When you walk in the front door you immediately knew something was off.
"Taylor?" you yelled. No response. "Taylor, honey, are you home?" Still no response. You traveled further into your shared home and saw some clothes on the stairs on the way up to your bedroom. Female clothes that were not yours. It didn't take a genius to figure out what you were about to walk into.
You picked up the clothes on your way up to the door when you heard the moaning sounds of a woman being pleasured. At this point, you were fuming. ‘Really in our bed? One week away from our wedding?' you thought to yourself
"Taylor Shawn Ferly!" you shouted as you stormed through the door. "What the fuck do you think you are doing? Or rather who the fuck, I guess is more appropriate."
"Y/N! I…. This…. You…. Fuck this is not what it looks like," Taylor said as he got off the slut naked in YOUR bed.
"Really???!!!?!?! Because it looks like you are fucking some slut in our house, in our room, in our bed a week before our wedding."
Just then Taylor moved just enough so you could see exactly who this homewrecker was, and you were not prepared for the sight before you. "RANDY! Are you fucking serious right now? That's low even for you Taylor. My fucking sister? I can't even believe what I am seeing right now. How could you do this to me, Randy? You are my sister and that is my fiancé. How could you sleep with him knowing we are getting married next week?" you cried.
"(Y/N), I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen," she pleaded.
"Yeah babe, we both didn't mean for this to happen," Taylor added.
You threw Randy's clothes at her and screamed, "Get the fuck out of my house." With that order, she ran out the door putting her clothes back on.
"Babe-" Taylor tried.
"Save it, asshole. If you didn't want this to happen and if you loved me, it wouldn't have happened. You are scum, the lowest of the low. You don't even deserve my screams right now, but I can't hold it back," you screamed as you yanked the diamond ring off your finger and threw it at him.
"I will be staying with Dana and she and I will be going on what was supposed to be our Hawaiian honeymoon," you cried as you grabbed your suitcase and started shoving all the clothes you could in it and pack other essentials from the bathroom that you might need.
Taylor started getting dressed and nodded his head. "Babe, can we at least talk about this?"
"No, this," you pointed between the two of you, "whatever it was is completely and 100% over. Done. You made your bed now you get to lie in it. Peace out dick head," you said as you walked out the door with your suitcase and got in your car and called Dana, your best friend.
Once you got to her house you explained everything that happened in the last hour and cried more over a bottle of wine.
"What a fucking asshole and your sister is a mega-bitch and slut," she said.
"I know. I should have known they were talking way too much lately. He kept saying it was for the wedding to take the stress off me a bit but considering both of their histories I should have seen it coming."
"Girl, you knock that off right now. He was supposed to love you. You shouldn't have had to worry about something like this happening."
"I know, but it still hurts. I did love him."
"I get that sweetie but screw him. He is the one losing a gem here, not you. But I know how we can get him back."
"Way ahead of you. Already have the tickets in my bag."
"That's my girl. You can still get your deposits back from all the wedding shit, right?"
"From the park, flowers, and catering, yes, but the dress, I'm biting the bullet on that one."
"That's fine you may still use that one day, but forget about that for now because, in one short week, we will be in Hawaii, baby."
"Yes, we will."
One Week Later
The sun was shining, and you were laid on the beach outside the Prince Waikiki Hotel in your brand-new bikini. Dana was up at the bar getting you both drinks to help get your mind off Taylor and Randy and the wedding you would never have.
You were caught in your thoughts about walking in on your now-ex when you felt something, or rather someone, trip over your legs. It was a little blond girl who looked about 5 years old and as adorable as can be.
"I'm sorry miss. I didn't mean to trip over you. I wasn't looking where I was going," the little girl said.
"It's okay sweetheart. No worries. Are you okay?" you responded.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
Just then a tall, handsome, brown-haired, green-eyed man came running over.
"I'm so sorry ma'am. We were playing frisbee and JJ here was running to catch it when she tripped over you," the handsome man said.
"It's fine. There were no injuries as long as she is okay is all that matters," you bent down to pick up the frisbee that landed next to you and turned to JJ. "Here you go, sweetie. I think this belongs to you," you said.
"Thank you, miss. Daddy let’s go play more," JJ said.
"In a minute JJ. I'm Jensen by the way and this is my daughter JJ," the man said as he held out his hand for you to shake.
"I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you both," you responded as you shook his hand.
"Hey girl I got the drinks," Dana said as she walked over. "Who's this?"
"This is Jensen and his beautiful daughter JJ. We were just talking after JJ tripped over my legs," you said.
"Well it was nice to meet you, Y/N," Jensen said as he and JJ walked away.
"He was hot as hell. Did you get his number?" Dana asked.
"No. A guy as hot as that is most definitely taken not to mention he has a kid, so he is probably married to someone who is just as hot as him and hasn't been cheated on."
"Girl knock that off right now. You are fucking gorgeous and any man would be lucky as hell to have you."
With that, you just nodded and you both drank your drinks while enjoying the Hawaiian sun.
Later that Night
One of the benefits of the hotel you were staying at was they had a bunch of different fun events you could attend. Tonight, was Luau night and you had the perfect dress for it that wouldn't be too hot, and you would be comfortable. Dana wore her classic shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. When you both were done you headed out.
It was everything you hoped it would be. The tiki torches, the fire performers, the hula dancers, even the roasted pig. The only thing that would make it better would be a guy to enjoy the night with.
When you were in your thoughts you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around to see none other than little JJ.
"Daddy! Look who I found. It's Y/N," JJ said.
"Yes, you did, sweetie. Hello Y/N. Hello Dana," Jensen said.
"Hello, Jensen, why don't you and JJ sit here with Y/N and me?" Dana suggested.
You through her a ‘what do you think you are doing' look and turned to Jensen with a smile. "I'm sure Jensen has to go back and sit with his wife."
"Nope. No wife. Just me and JJ here and before you ask no girlfriend either. It's kind of a daddy-daughter thing," Jensen replied. "We would love to sit with you, right JJ?"
"YEAH!" JJ shrieked.
She settled into the seat next to you. You thought she was the most adorable little girl in the world. "So, JJ, what is your favorite food?"
"I like chicken and ‘pasghetti," she answered.
"Well, wouldn't you know those are my favorites too," you responded.
You spent the next hour giggling and playing with JJ. You were always good with children and she was such a good little girl it just came naturally to you. She was getting kind of sweaty, so you braided her hair for her, and she hugged you. You couldn't deny that you were forming a bond with this little girl.
What you didn't notice was the look that Jensen was giving you. He couldn't help but admire the way you interacted with his daughter. She was his whole world and the fact that it seemed to come so naturally for you just tickled him pink.
Soon after your main entrée arrived and that's when the chit chat between you and Jensen began. You figured out that you both grew up in Austin and both still live in Texas. You both had a lot in common and it was nice to finally be able to talk and not think about Taylor.
After the Luau Dana went back to the room, but you and Jensen wanted to continue the night a little bit longer. So, Jensen, JJ, and you all went walking along the beach for a while. JJ got tired after a bit, so you offered to carry her and she fell asleep in your arms.
"So, what brings you to Hawaii from good ol' Texas? "Jensen asked.
"You know just needed a vacation away from home. How about you?"
"Like I said before it's a daddy-daughter vacation. I try and get as much fun time with JJ as I can. She is my world and I try to give her everything I can."
"I can see that. She's a wonderful little girl. You are raising her well. Most little kids I meet don't even know what manners are, but she just seems to naturally get it."
"Well, thank you. I try my best. You should also commend yourself, you are great with her. I could help but see that at the luau tonight. She has taken a liking in you."
"I've always been good with children. I guess it's a gift."
"It really is."
Jensen looked down at his phone and saw that it was getting late. You guys said your goodbyes and he scooped up JJ and went back to their room while you took your time walking back yours think about how easy things were with Jensen. Nothing like they were with Taylor.
Next Day
“Hey Dana, why don’t we hit up the pool today?”
“Sounds good. Let me just grab some towels and we can head out. Do you need some sun tan lotion?”
“Naw I’m good.”
You and Dana head down to the enormous pool and decide on a set of chairs off to the side away from the main group of chairs. You get settled in with your towel under you and your shades on. Dana went to the pool bar to get you guys some drinks while you waited.
It had been about 20 minutes since Dana left and you began to wonder where the hell she was at. You turned around and looked towards the bar to see Dana leaning over the bar giggling with some tall scrawny dude that you knew was her type. At this point you knew she was as good as gone. You loved Dana to death, but she was a bit of a hoe, but that just made you love her even more. Anyway, you knew is meant she would be gone for a while and you would be left alone.
Before you could dwell on the fact that you were alone you heard a shriek that you would know anywhere. It was JJ and she came running up to you and gave you a hug which you were more than happy to return.
“JJ you can’t just run away like that,” said Jensen running up behind her. “Hi y/n what’s up?”
“Hey Jensen. I’m just sitting here all by my lonesome since my very rude best friend ditched me for a guy,” you replied.
“Well that was not very nice of her. Why don’t you spend the rest of the day with JJ and I?” he offered.
“Well, that sounds like a good day to me,” you said as you tickled JJ into a hug.
You guys spend the next few hours playing Marco polo in the pool, having pool noodle fights, and racing up and down the pool.
While JJ was sitting in your chair eating her fruit snacks Jensen pulled you aside. “Hey y/n would you like to go to dinner with me tonight?”
His request shocked you. You were not expecting a man like that to be interested in a girl like you especially after what happened with Taylor. You didn’t think anyone would be interested in you. “What about JJ? What are you gonna do about her when we go out?”
“I got that covered. We came with my best friend Jared and his family and he has already agreed to watch her for me if I wanted some alone time.”
“In that case I guess dinner sounds nice.”
“Good I’ll pick you up at 7. Does that sound good?”
“Sounds good.” At this point it was almost 5 so you both agreed that you would go to your rooms to get ready for your evening. You gave both Jensen and JJ hugs and you guys went your separate ways.
You were glad you decided to bring one dressy outfit as now you clearly needed it. You showered and put on your summer dress. You did all the prep that women usually do for dates, the hair, the make-up, and the works. You walked out to see Dana dressed up as well.
“Hey good looking, what are you all dressed up for?” you asked Dana.
“You know that guy I met earlier? Well, he invited me out tonight. What about you?”
“Well, I have a date with Jensen tonight.”
“That’s awesome.”
Before you could continue there was a knock on the door. You looked at the clock and saw that it was exactly 7 o’clock. You had to admire his punctuality.
You opened the door and he was like a dream. He was so handsome and couldn’t figure out why in the world he would pick a girl like you.
“You look beautiful,” Jensen said.
“Thank you, Jensen. You don’t look to bad about yourself.”
You and Dana said your goodbyes and she told you not to wait up and you left with Jensen.
You pulled up to one of the most beautiful and fancy restaurants you have ever seen. You both go in and of course he has a reservation which you had no idea how he got in such short time considering the place was packed. You got to the table and he pulled the chair out for you and did all the gentlemanly things you didn’t think guys did anymore.
“This is so nice. How did you ever get a reservation here?” you asked.
“I have my ways,” he said with a gorgeous smile.
“So, what is it you do for a living?”
“I’m actually an actor. I am on a show called Supernatural.”
“That’s why you look so familiar. I have seen an episode or two of that show, but I don’t really have a lot of time for tv.”
“It’s nice to not have someone recognize you,” he giggled. “What is it that keeps you so busy?”
“I am a social worker.”
“Very nice. That explains why you are so good with kids.”
“Well I actually got the job because I was already good with kids and I got the degree of course.”
At this point the waiter came over and gave you your drinks and took your dinner orders.
“Tell me how’s a beautiful girl like you still single?”
You cringed at the question. You knew this was bound to come up sooner or later. You were just hopping it would be later rather than sooner. “Honestly, I just got out of a serious relationship that did not end well at all. It’s kinda the real reason I took this trip.”
“I see. Do you mind if I ask what happened?”
“It’s fine. I was actually engaged to my long-time boyfriend Taylor. I thought we were madly in love and couldn’t wait for our wedding. But a week before we were supposed to get married, I came home from work a little early and caught him in bed with another woman.”
“That’s messed up.”
“Yeah the worst part was that the woman was my sister Randy.”
“Talk about the ultimate betrayal.”
“Yeah so suffice to say I called off the wedding and this trip was supposed to be our honeymoon, but the tickets were non refundable so my friend Dana suggested that we take the vacation to let loose and not think about it. However, this all happened a little over a week ago and forgetting about is not quite that easy.”
“I can imagine. That is terrible. I am so sorry that happened to you.”
“Me too. Anyway, how are you still single?”
“Well, single dad thing aside, my job also keeps me very busy.”
“What about JJ’s mom?”
“I knew that would come up eventually. We were actually married for a few years and I thought we were happy, but I guess she wasn’t. About a year ago we got divorced because she said my job took too much of my time. Which she wasn’t wrong about. So, we got divorced but still maintain a good relationship for JJ’s sake. There’s no hate there.”
“That’s so nice. It’s wonderful you guys could put your problems aside for JJ.”
“Yeah, that little girl is everything to us. Anyway, do you have any kids?”
“No. Unfortunately my job has kept me too busy for that, but I would like to one day.”
Before Jensen could respond the waiter came over with your dinner and you began to eat. The rest of the night went along smoothly with you and Jensen talking about personal details about yourself. You took a walk along the beach after dinner until you realized it was getting late.
Jensen being the gentleman he was walked you to your door.
“I had a really great time tonight,” you said.
“Me too. You are such an easy person to talk to. It’s like I’ve known you forever,” he replied as he leaned in slowly and placed his lips gently on yours and began to kiss you. Of course, you reciprocated. As the kiss starts to deepen you push back a little and grab the key to your door and unlocked it. Jensen kissed you again as you both walked into the room and closed the door behind you.
The Next Morning
You woke up the next morning to feel the bed next to you empty. You got up still wrapped in the bed sheet and saw a note on the side table.
Good Morning Y/N,
Sorry I had to leave early. I had to get JJ and didn’t want to wake you up. I had a great time with you last night and hope we can do it again
Xoxo Jensen
You smiled at the note and decided to get ready for the day. You laid out your outfit and jumped into the shower.
After you were dressed and doing your hair Dana strolled in still wearing last nights clothes. “Well, look who’s doing the walk of shame,” you said to Dana with a smile. She just smirked and walked into the bathroom.
You decided that you were going to do a little shopping, so you went down to the shops that were down the street from the hotel. However, when you got there you weren’t expected it to be as busy as it was. It was like Walmart on black Friday. Basically, it was a mad house.
Before you could turn around and head back to the hotel, you heard a crying noise. You walked around the corner and saw little JJ sitting on the ground huddled up and crying. She was all alone so you ran to her and grabbed her attention without scaring her. She saw you and ran into your arms.
“Sweetie, what’s wrong? Where’s your dad?”
“I lost him. I don’t know where he is. He was behind me then he was gone.”
“It’s okay sweetie. I got you. Let’s go find him together,” you said as you grabbed her hand.
You searched the first shop and found nothing. So, you continued from shop to shop until you hit the fourth shop and you finally found Jensen. JJ ran up to her father who engulfed her in a giant hug.
“Thank god you’re safe, JJ,” Jensen said as he kissed her head. “Thank you so much y/n. I was freaking out. I got lost in the crowd and the next thing I knew little JJ here was gone.”
“It was no problem Jensen. I’m just glad I found her.”
“Me too. Do you have any plans today?”
“Not really. I was just gonna do some shopping and chill why?”
“Well, we were just gonna do some shopping too. Care to join us?”
“Sure. That sounds like fun.”
You ended up spending the next few hours going from shop to shop with Jensen and JJ having a good time. You even went out to lunch where you and JJ made Jensen spill his drink on his pants and laughed at him saying he peed himself.
Since this was your last night in Honolulu you went to Jensen’s room so you could the talk you had been long dreading.
“Hey y/n, come in.”
“Hey Jensen, can we talk?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
“I have been dreading this conversation all day. But tonight, is my last night in Honolulu which means it’s the last night I’ll see you and JJ, and I really don’t want it to be the last time we see each other.”
“Me neither. I really think we have something special here despite only meeting less than a week ago. We both live in Texas why don’t we give this relationship a shot?”
“I really want to, but I live an hour away from Austin. How are we supposed to make that work?”
“An hour is nothing. We can figure the details out later but if you are willing to give this a shot then so am I. So, are you?”
“Yes.”
And with that Jensen pulled you into a kiss and your worries about the future faded away. You two would figure it out together.

A/N: This was the first thing I ever posted on Tumblr on 1/28/2018. I decided to go ahead repost it and delete the original post making it look nicer. Since it’s my first ever it is probably horrible but really I’m not here for recognition but to write and keep writing. Here is my original A/N: My first time posting anything I have written so any comments, suggestions and/or concerns please let me know. I want to improve and the only way I can do that is to know what I am doing right and can work on doing better. As always this is unbeta so all mistakes are mine. Likes, comments and reblogs are splendid and I will love you doubly for them! Enjoy!
Special Note: This is a work of FICTION and should be enjoyed as such. There is no disrespect meant towards the Ackles Family as I truly adore and admire them very much!
“I can’t believe you talked me into coming on this audition with you.” (Y/N) said to her best friend, Jessie Harrison. “Hey, even if you don’t get this they will probably use you as an extra. Either way, we will both get paid and that is all that matters.” (Y/N) rolled her (Y/E/C) eyes at her friend. Living in Vancouver meant that there was always a TV show or movie that needed extras which was easy money. Jessie was an aspiring actress and had been an extra on just about every show and movie filmed in Vancouver. (Y/N), on the other hand, had no desire to be in front of the camera but writing what would be said.
(Y/N) and Jessie kept moving along in line with the rest of the woman. They were listening as the ladies would come back out from the room. “He’s a cutie I hope I can do that again except on other parts of him.” One giggled as (Y/N) gave a pointed look to Jessie. “What exactly did you drag me into?” Jessie was looking anywhere but at her. (Y/N) started to walk away when Jessie grabbed her arm. “Look it’s for a show called Dark Angel, you like that show, right?” (Y/N) nodded as it was one of her favorite shows since she was a big sci-fi fan. “Well, they are doing an episode where they are in a gentlemen’s club and one of the girls goes up to one of the main characters licks his cheek and says she missed him.”
She gawked at Jessie, “I have to lick some actor’s face?” Jessie nodded as she stood in front of the closed door where the auditions were happening. “You owe me so much. You will be repaying me still when your hundred and two.” The door opened as a scantily clothed blonde walked out fanning herself. Jessie walked in as (Y/N) glared at the closed door. There was a tap on her shoulder from the girl behind her. “Nervous?” she asked and (Y/N) shook her head looking down at the one line she would have to say. “Nope just annoyed.”
Jessie walked out shaking her head. “He’s hot.” She whispered as (Y/N) walked into the room. She had a pair of form fitting jeans on with a tank top and light jacket on. “Okay, honey you’re just going to walk right up to Jensen say the line and then lick his cheek seductively. She took off her jacket and looked over to the dark haired actor that looked familiar to her. He was wiping his cheek with a washcloth. Jessie was right he was hot and he seemed to be enjoying himself. He looked up at her and he smiled, “Whenever you’re ready.” His voice was kind and that was unusual for actors.
(Y/N) swayed her hips a little as she walked up to him. She placed one hand on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her waist bringing her into his side. She ran her hand down his chest to his stomach and down to touch his thigh. His breath hitched slight and then she delivered her line in a low sexy voice, “Where have you been? I missed you.” (Y/N) then took the tip of her nose running it along his cheek and then the tip of her tongue grazing it along his jaw. She felt him shiver and heard the director say cut. She looked up into his shining olive green eyes and smiled as she walked away. She heard him say, “Damn, she’s the first one to make me feel something.” (Y/N) walked out the door with a proud smile on her face.
A few days later she got the call back that she would be the lucky one to lick pretty boy’s face again. She still could not shake the feeling that she knew him from somewhere. She arrived on set with Jessie who was going to be an extra during the same scene. They were in a room with all the other girls and someone from the wardrobe department. “Where is (Y/N)?” the lady called out and she stepped forward. “Alright honey, here is your outfit for the day.” She looked at it curious where the rest of it was and just nodded. She went into one of the dressing rooms changing into the red corset top, black satin hipster bottoms and fishnet stockings with over the knee black boots. She was thankful that the boots were flat and not high heeled.
When she stepped out Jessie let out a whistle. “Damn girl! You may want to rethink the whole writing thing.” (Y/N) rolled her eyes as she looked in the full length mirror. Everything fit like it was painted on her and highlighted her curves and boobs. Next, she was ushered into hair and make-up where she saw some pictures of the actors including pretty boy. The hairdresser was sweet and talkative. “Can I ask you something?” she asked as the girl was curling her long mahogany hair. The hairdresser nodded and (Y/N) asked, “Do you know of anything else Jensen has been in? He seems really familiar.” The girl chuckled.
“Well, he was in one episode last season. His character I think was Ben. He was also on Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady.” (Y/N) nodded as she realized she probably saw him during season one. Jessie and the make-up artist came into the room as the hairdresser finished with (Y/N)’s hair. The make-up artist kept raving over her natural looks. “You are the perfect canvas with your porcelain skin, rosy cheeks and full dark pink lips. You’re gorgeous, honey!” She said as (Y/N) chuckled uneasily, “Thanks, I think.” There was a knock on the door as an AD opened the door. “I need the girls now.” (Y/N) and Jessie walked out with the AD and followed her to the set
All the girls were standing around practicing their dance moves to some hip-hop song (Y/N) had no idea what it was. Luckily, she had brought her purse with her and grabbed her MP3 player. She put her earbuds in and walked around the set swaying her hips from side to side. She jumped slightly when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around seeing a familiar pair of olive green eyes staring at her. “Sorry, am I in the way of something?” she asked as a low chuckle left his lips. “No, you’re fine. Was just curious what you’re listening to that is making you swing your hips like that?” (Y/N) bit her lower lip and could feel her cheeks burning as he looked her over in her outfit.
“Um, one of my favorite bands in Def Leppard and I was listening to Pour Some Sugar on Me. The other girls are listening to some hip-hop song that does nothing for me, but this song I know it would be my stripper song if I ever was one.” She smiled as Jensen laughed throwing his whole body into it. “You may just be the perfect woman. I’m sure if you were a stripper you would make a boat load of cash.” She laughed shrugging, “Eh, I think I’ll just stick to writing. I have a face more for print than film.” She watched as Jensen face became serious. “I don’t think so. I think you’re beautiful and honestly after the hundreds of girls licking my face that day you were the only one to get me to react. Don’t sell yourself short.”
(Y/N) looked bashfully at her feet and then smiled up at him. “Thank you for that. I appreciate it since you probably have girls throwing themselves at you all the time.” He snickered as the director called his name. “Gotta go. I’ll see you in bit.” He said as he ran his hand gently down her arm. “See you soon, pretty boy.” He smirked back at her as she walked back into the room with all the other girls. The ADs were arranging all the extras for the first shot where (Y/N) would have to lick Jensen’s cheek. She grinned up at Jessie who was one of the cage girls and she flipped her off while (Y/N) laughed.
The director went over how the scene was going to go and then he called action. (Y/N) watched as Jensen walked down the stairs with two other guys. She sauntered over to him and just like she did in her audition she said her line licking his cheek then walking away. She glanced back seeing Jensen shiver and delivering his line. The director called cut and they did that scene two more times with different camera angles. Each time, Jensen shivered and would ran his hand over her hip and butt. They were setting up the shot where (Y/N) was giving him a lap dance and they were chatting about his acting jobs and their families.
The director talked briefly with them as he cued the music and yelled action. (Y/N) swayed her hips and butt in front of him turning to face him. He was moving his head to the music and biting his lower lip watching her dance. In that moment, there was nothing hotter to her than him watching her. That is when he noticed Jessica Alba behind her and performed his lines while running his hands down her hips and legs. She grabbed the bills he was handing her and he smacked her on the butt as she walked away.
Soon the scene was over and (Y/N) could leave. Jensen jumped up and jogged over to her. “It was great working with you… wait I don’t even know your name.” He chuckled as she smiled at him. “I’m (Y/N) and it was fun working with you as well. Maybe one day we’ll work together again.” He nodded his head biting his lower lip again. “I would love that. See you around, (Y/N).” She waved to him as he walked away, “Later pretty boy!”
Ten years had gone by and (Y/N) was now working for a publishing company in Vancouver as an editor. From time to time she would let Jessie convince her to take small acting roles for extra money. Jessie had just been casted as a regular guest star on Supernatural, one of (Y/N)’s favorite shows. Ever since working with Jensen on Dark Angel she followed his career closely becoming a big fan. She was sure he would not remember her from ten years ago, but when Jessie asked her to try out for a part during an upcoming episode she could not resist.
Jessie had sent her the script for her to memorize lines and that is when she read the love scene between her character and Jensen’s. She sent a text to Jessie, “This is why you wanted me to play this part because of the love scene.” She set her phone down reading her lines again. About twenty minutes later she heard a notification chime and pulled up the text from Jessie. “Duh! You’ll enjoy rolling around with Jensen in bed.” (Y/N) laughed out loud shaking her head. “Oh Jessie, you know me so well.” She muttered to herself reading her lines again.
A few days later, Jessie picked up (Y/N) on her way to set. “Are you nervous?” she asked as (Y/N) was re-reading the lines she knew she had memorized. “Not really. I mean it’s been ten years since I have seen the guy and even though I’m a fan I know he is just a regular dude.” Jessie pulled onto the lot and (Y/N) was amazed by the all the people running around. Jessie parked by her trailer and when they were getting out of the car she spotted Jensen talking to one of the other actors on the show, Misha Collins. Jessie called out her name and she turned towards her following her into the trailer.
(Y/N) made her way to wardrobe, hair and make-up with ease. Once again, the make-up artist raved about her features and how she did not look her age. “I get that a lot. It’s because I have no kids and got rid of the husband.” The girl laughed as the door to the trailer opened and Jensen walked in. “Hey Jay, go ahead and start with your hair. I’ll be done with here in just a second.” Jensen nodded flopping down in front of the hairdresser. (Y/N) glanced over seeing he was focused on his phone. When she was done he was looking up in the mirror and made eye contact with her with a puzzled look. As she opened the door she said over her shoulder, “Nice seeing you pretty boy.” She walked down the stairs closing the door. She heard Jensen gasp probably realizing who she was.
She made her way to set with Jessie who was just coming to watch her. “Of course, we would be shooting the love scene first.” (Y/N) rolled her eyes sighing. “Hey, you get to have fake sex with a hot guy. What are you complaining about?” Jessie snickered as she glared at her. “I would rather have real sex with a hot guy who isn’t married.” Jessie winced knowing that (Y/N)’s latest drought in her dating life was a sore spot. “Sorry (Y/N/N), I didn’t mean too…” (Y/N) waved it off, “It’s fine. I’m sorry for being bitchy.” The director called her over with Jensen who had a knowing smile on his face.
She smiled at him, “How is it whenever I take acting gigs it’s always with you, pretty boy, getting handsy with me?” she chuckled as Jensen pulled her into a big hug. He was firm, smelt good and his voice was just damn sexy. “(Y/N), how are you? I’m so glad to see you again. It’s been way too long.” She nodded, “Yeah it has. Been what ten years since the famous licking scene.” Jensen laughed and the director came over explaining what shots he wanted and about how many times he wanted to do this scene. Both Jensen and (Y/N) listening closely and then went over to the set.
While they were waiting for the cameras and sound to get set she got a case of the giggles which was causing Jensen to laugh as well. “Sorry, full disclosure, I’m a pretty big fan of the show and the fact I’m doing a love scene with you is causing me to giggle.” Jensen laughed shaking his head. “Well, you are living out a lot of fangirls dreams so make it count.” She felt her cheeks burning. “I will say it’s weird that I will be kissing you and knowing that your married.” Jensen nodded as his cheeks turned pink, “Yeah, normally, I’m pretty good at not letting love scenes get to me. However, you are even more beautiful than you were ten years ago so this may be a little harder for me.” (Y/N) tried so hard to keep her laugh in but could not and Jensen joined her in laughing when he realized exactly what he said.
Finally, they began shooting the scene. Kissing Jensen was exactly how she imagined it would be. His lips were soft, full and skilled. Feeling his hands running over her body was stirring a lot of feelings up within her. They went through the undressing scene and had to repeat it when Jensen had issues getting the shirt cuffs off around his hands. (Y/N) was standing there half dressed in front of a ton of crew laughing hysterically. Then came the big scene where they were in bed. She was in a sexy black lace bra and panty set where Jensen was in black boxer-briefs. As they set up the scene Jensen took his robe off first and she could not help admiring him as he moved around the set. She heard Jessie chuckled as she had fanned herself watching him.
She took her robe off and watched as his eyes got wider. His normally bright olive green eyes were darker now. She laid down and he positioned himself between her legs making sure he did not put too much weight on her. She also noticed he tried to cover her as much as possible from the crew. She looked up at him and smiled. “What?” he asked. “I heard you were chivalrous when it came to love scenes. I think that’s sweet.” He chuckled which cause a delicious friction between them. “Watch it there, pretty boy.” She chuckled as he winced. The director called action and they began kissing as if they had been going at it all along.
The script called for her to push him to be on bottom and Jensen placed his hands on her hips flipping them over. She threw her long hair over her as she sat up straddling him. There was yell for cut and Jensen sat up with her still straddling him pulling the covers over her. “Thanks Jensen.” She said sincerely as he chuckled. “It’s more for me this time because you’re very distracting to me the way you are.” (Y/N) could feel the effect she was having on him. He blushed deep red, “Sorry, I just can’t help it. You’re beautiful and on top of me.” She laughed causing him to groan. She rested her head on his shoulder trying to stop laughing. “I’m so sorry. Though it is nice to have a good looking man having any reaction to me. I appreciate that.” The director was calling for everyone to be ready and then yelled action.
After a couple of days shooting with Jensen all of (Y/N)’s scenes were completed. She was collecting her things in Jessie’s trailer to go home when there was a knock at the door. Jessie opened it and she told (Y/N) she would be right back. She mumbled a response as she was trying to keep her emotions under control. After she heard the door shut Jensen’s husky voice startled her. “Hey there.” She turned around seeing it was just the two of them in the trailer. “Hi there, come to see me off.” She said trying the smile brightly at him. Jensen nodded looking down at his feet. The last couple of days they had talked a lot and really connected with one another.
“I just wanted to make sure I got to say goodbye before you left.” (Y/N) went up to Jensen and put her arms around his neck hugging him. He hugged her back burying his head into the crook of her neck. “I’m glad you did. This time though don’t wait ten years to see me again.” He chuckled nervously and she could tell he wanted to do the same thing she wanted too. Before she would let that happen she pulled away from him and went to grab her bag. “Here this is for you. I’ll talk to you soon, pretty boy.” She handed him an envelope and then kissed him on the cheek. Walking out of that trailer was rough and she was thankful when Jessie was waiting for her in the car. “Come on, I believe we have a tub of chocolate ice cream to devour.” (Y/N) smiled as she laughed. She looked back at the trailer seeing Jensen opening her letter and reading it.
“Jensen,
I’m glad I took this gig when Jessie brought it to my attention. I got to reconnect with you and that has been special for me. You are an amazing man, Jensen Ackles. You make women everywhere fall in love with you instantly and that includes me. There is definitely a connection between us but nothing could ever come of it. It’s just the wrong place, wrong time. Your wife is a lucky woman to have you and you are equally lucky to have such an amazing woman in your life. Hold on to that and treasure it.
That being said, I would love to be friends with you. We can hang out in groups while you’re in Vancouver and one day I hope to meet your amazing wife so we can trade stories of you. I left my business card in here with all my contact info and you should use it whenever you need a friend to talk too. I’ll always be there for you as a friend. Hope to hear from you soon, pretty boy.
Talk to you soon,
(Y/N)”

Series Summary: You are an up and coming mystery/suspense writer. The newest addition to your popular series was just released, which means never-ending book signings all over the country. When your overzealous agent lands you a signing in Vancouver, you meet a fan you never expected to have. And, as luck would have it, you are just as big of a fan of them as they are of you!
A/N: This is for my Darling friend Kari’s ( AKA @thing-you-do-with-that-thing) birthday! Despite what you say, you ARE an older sis to me, and I love you more than I can put into words. Thank you for adopting me and for sticking by me in my thick and thin. I hope you like this ;)
beta’d by the super sweet and talented @deanssweetheart23. Thank you so much babe! I owe you one!
"So where are we going?" You asked, tugging at the blindfold. Sure, you loved birthday surprises, but the guy in the driver's seat had been taking it to the other freaking end. He had been at it for days now.
Jensen would turn up late for dates, wouldn't stay over anymore, and every time you asked him, he'd sweat bullets and change the topic. If you didn't know your boyfriend better, you'd have jumped to the worse conclusions. You would have assumed the very worst and started panicking about it. But you knew Jensen. He was as big a dork as you when it came to little things, but if it was something serious, he was enough of a gentleman to come clean about it.
So you turned to the next best option available, and ended up at Jared's house at an ungodly hour. This was easier than worrying about what was wrong with Jensen. Jared's annoyed expression immediately softened when he saw you at the door, before turning into a worried one.
"Y/N?" He rubbed at his eyes, 'What's wrong?"
"I need you to tell me what's wrong with Jensen," you asked, point blank.
"What's wrong with him?" He was looking more and more confused by the minute. Which would have been adorable if you hadn't been hyperventilating with worry.
"Something is," you threw your hands up in the air, barging into the living room. "I know there is something wrong with the guy because he is avoiding me like the fucking plague. He's never home anymore. Doesn't even stay back to walk Santo these days. And he loves doing that. So don't you tell me there is nothing wrong with him!"
You watched as obvious understanding dawned on Jared's face, before he ran a hand through his hair, looking equal parts guilty and nervous.
"I know you know something, you giant moose," you narrowed your eyes at him, wiggling a finger. "You better tell me what it is."
Jared shifted his weight from one leg to another. He knew you were stubborn to the last cell of your body. One way or another, you would find out.
He sighed. "I swear to God Y/N, if you breathe a word about this to him…"
"Just spit it out already!" You all but yelled.
"Fine," he gave in. You had never seen him look guiltier, and this was including the time he had decided that it was funny to let the air out of your tires, making you late for work. "He is planning a birthday surprise for you."
"Oh…" It was all you could say. You had been so worried about something being so inexcusably wrong with him, that the thought of a birthday present for you hadn't even crossed your mind.
"He is planning a birthday present for me, by ignoring me?" You thought out loud, tilting your head to a side.
"These things take time, Y/N," Jared said sagely, and you narrowed your eyes at him again.
"What do you mean by these things?"
"Nothing! I already told you enough to land me in lifetime's worth of trouble. I'm not saying another word," he said, shaking his head.
He promptly banished you from his house after that, muttering about lifetime of trust issues, broken bro code and such.
That had been two weeks ago, and even though patience was not exactly your best quality, you decided to take things at Jensen's pace and be nice about it.
However, you still loved making Jensen uncomfortable once in a while as you fake whined about how little time he was spending with you. Now that you knew there was nothing to worry about, it was almost easier to watch him go, when he untangled himself out of your arms on Saturday nights. Almost.
"Are we there yet?" You whined from the passenger's seat. You had been counting the time. It hadn't been more than half an hour. After a while even the turns he had been taking became harder to remember. Left, right, left, left again…left… or was it right? Uhhggg…Where was he taking you?
You would be lying if you said that you hadn't been giving "the surprise" any thought. In fact, on lonely nights, it was all you could think about. What was this present that was keeping him away from you? Was he taking you out to a lunch? Was he planning the perfect date? The poor guy barely got weekends off from all the flying and hectic shooting schedules. You hated to think that he was putting unnecessary efforts into the gift and tiring himself.
"Almost there," he said lightly, but you could hear the smile in his voice.
"You're such a tease," you giggled.
"Yeah, you love it," he told you.
"Not so much right now."
The car slowed down and gradually came to a halt.
"We're here," he announced.
"Fucking finally," you muttered, as he helped you out of the passenger seat, gently guiding you over what felt like smooth asphalt.
You tried to tap at the floor with your foot to try and gauge where you were, but you gave it up in no time, because you could barely think of anything that wasn't Jensen the moment his hands touched your bare shoulder. A tingle went up your spine. You shook your head at the effect the man had on you.
He guided you up a couple of steps and you couldn't help but tug at the blindfold.
"Hey, you can't remove it yet," Jensen chided you. "Only a couple of minutes now.”
"Okay," you acquiesced, drawing both your hands behind your back, playing the good girl. It earned you a chuckle from Jensen. It was the most beautiful sound you had ever heard.
You heard him fumble with keys, and then a lock click.
"Where are we?" You couldn't help but ask. He only chuckled in response, drawing you closer, as he closed the door behind the two of you.
God you wanted to jump his bones right then and there as the door hit the frame and the lock clicked. But there was no telling whether or not you were alone, so you pulled your bottom lip between your teeth and behaved yourself. Jensen led you through seemingly familiar turns inside the space until you were treading another set of stairs, but this time you were stepping down, into cool grass.
You could feel Jensen's plump lips against your forehead as he kissed you chastely.
"I'm gonna open the blindfolds now," he murmured against your skin. You knew him well enough to sense the nervousness in his voice.
His hands fumbled a little as he undid the knot, and you opened your eyes. It wasn't what you had expected, yet your heart took off at a sprint.
You were standing in the backyard of Jensen's water facing property. At first you didn't realise what was different, and then you saw it.
It was a kennel. Small and very woodsy. It wasn't very decorative, but it was neat and well made. What made it special was that it was the exact color of your house. The roof had shingles of the exact shade of brown and the wooden walls were painted the same pastel hue. That and the fact that the small board above it read "Santo."
Your eyes immediately filled up as you grasped the meaning behind his gesture, and you turned back to see him staring at your nervously, his hands scratching the back of his neck.
"It's very small, and I really didn't know what I was doing at first, but I think it's come out okay. The backside is a little dented because Jared sat on it at some point and we didn't have time to get more planks. And I know Santo doesn't sleep outside, he sleeps on the bed with you, but I just thought it would be nice to…"
You cut his nervous rambling off as you captured his lips in yours, conveying your obvious answer. You could feel him loosening into your touch, as all the tension left his body. His arms enveloped around you, and he pulled you closer, deepening the kiss. When you finally broke off, the two of you were out of breath.
"It's beautiful," you told him. "But you didn't have to do all that to ask me to move in with you, dumbass!"
"Who told you I was asking you to move in?" He winked, leaning in for another kiss. "I only want Santo."
You giggled at that, hitting him playfully in the chest. "You idiot!"
He pulled you against his chest, and you sighed contentedly. "I love you, Y/N. I know it's only been a couple of months, but it's stupid to wait when you know you've found the perfect person. Happy birthday, Y/N/N."
You knew you didn't have to say it back to him, because he understood. So you only burrowed deeper in his hold, tightening your arms around him. The thought of waking up to him every morning and sharing your life with him was so overwhelming that you weren't sure you could manage to speak without your voice breaking just yet.
But Jensen understood, you knew he did.
All you wanted to do was pull him back into the house and drag him into the bed with you. Which was exactly what you did. Santo could manage to stay out of the bed for one night ;)
This is my first time writing RPF out of blurbs. PLEASE tell me if I sucked?

Catch Up Here!
You looked up, your eyes widening at seeing Jensen. "Jensen?"
Jensen smirked at you. "That's me." Your brows furrowed at him. "What are you doing here?" He mimicked your action, his brows furrowed back at you. "What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" "My job." You shrugged. Jensen raised a brow. He did not expect you to be an actress. "Me too. I'm Dean. Well, I play Dean." You squinted at Jensen, not remembering what Dean looked like.
Jensen crossed his arms. "Have you even watched the show?" You scoffed defensively, "Of course I have! But it was late and I'm ninety-nine point nine percent sure that my friend and I had a couple drinks. So I passed out after season five."
Jensen looked at you, shaking his head with a smile. "So you sing and act. What don't you do?" "I don't skydive," You shrugged. A playful grin widened on Jensen's face, a mischevious gleam in his eyes. "That can always be changed."
You're about to reply with 'Don't you dare' or 'No fricken way' when a booming voice shouted through a megaphone from the warehouse, "Camera rolls in five!"
Jensen nodded at you, extending a hand to help you up, "You heard the man. Camera rolls in five."
You and Jensen reached the warehouse, and he had to pull you out of the way to avoid you getting hit by a long piece of wood that was being carried to the set by two crew members.
Jensen had pulled you into his chest, ‘out of way’. And it didn't take you very long to notice how close the two of you were. Your foreheads almost touching, he looked down at you. "You should watch where you're going."
Crimson crept up your cheeks, and you forced yourself to mutter out the only thing you could. "I'll try."
Jensen would've held you there longer, but the two of you were interrupted by a loud crash, just around the corner of the warehouse.
Jensen, always one to play a hero, released his grip around you to go inspect the damage. You followed suit, curious as to what had happened.
A woman lay on the ground inspecting her leg, shouting at one of the crewmembers to watch where they were going.
Jensen jogged over to her. "You okay?" The woman rubbed her leg. "It's just a scratch. I'm a stuntperson. I'll live." Jensen helped her up, immediately taking a step back at what he saw.
You furrowed your brow at the woman. She looked a hell of a lot like you. "I'm guessing you're my stunt double?" You asked. Despite the obvious differences between many features, you found the similarities between the two of you slightly unsettling.
She looked you up and down, nodding in agreement. She smiled fakely at you. "Guess so."
You didn't meet Jared until filming, but once you did he wouldn't leave you alone. It didn't take long to find out that Jared was the friend that Jensen was staying with because of the break in at his own apartment. Hearing that Jared was your neighbor worried you to no end. An hour didn't even go by and the six foot three puppy had already put a whoopie cushion on your chair and put vinegar into your water.
You glared at Jensen and Jared, warning the two of them to stop messing with you. You had to deliver a serious line, but Jared had decided to kick your feet underneath the table while Jensen made ridiculous faces at you. "If I didn't stop them, people would've died," You said, your voice cracking as you burst into a fit of giggles at the end.
"Cut!" The director walked on set, his eyes narrowing on his next victim, you. "Now, this time you should maybe try not laughing while delivering your line." You bit your lip, nodding profusely at the director's feedback. Behind you, you could hear the muffled sounds of Jensen and Jared giggling.
You shot them another glare as you put both hands on the table, leaning over. "Are the two of you trying to get me fired?" Jared grinned at you. "Yup. That's exactly what we're trying to do," He said, obviously sarcastic. You rolled your eyes at him, returning to the start of your tape marker.
After a couple more takes, you had wrapped up your first day on set. It wouldn't have taken so long without the pranks. You had decided to get Jared back and fight fire with fire. You had gotten your hands on Jared's candy supply, removing the sugary coating and replacing it with salt. Jared had said that you had 'gone too far' and that he was only 'initiating' you into the cast, into the family. Needless to say, the two of you agreed to a truce.
Since Jared was your neighbor and Jensen was staying over at his place, the three of you carpooled, agreeing that that would be the most efficient way to get to and from work. On your way back you got Clif, the boys' driver, to stop at the grocery store so that you could pick up any ingredients for dishes you planned on making.
At reaching the apartment building, Jensen and Jared helped you carry the groceries, picking at some of the snacks on the way up. When the three of you reached your apartment and set the bags on the counter, more than half of the caramel popcorn was gone.
You turned around, placing a hand on your hips as you raised a brow at Jared. His mouth still full of caramel popcorn, he shrugged at you before smiling sheepishly and running out of the apartment. You turned to Jensen who had been surprisingly quiet for most of the day. "You okay?" You asked, worried about his silence.
It was unknown to you that he was too busy paying attention to how well you seemed to fit into his life and as cheesy as it sounds, you were like the final piece of the puzzle, falling into place. He helped unbag the items as he looked at you with uncertainty. "I've been thinking-" You smirked at him. "Oh no, that's never good," You joked, nudging him slightly with your shoulder.
From what you saw, Jensen was upset because of whatever he was thinking about, and all you wanted was to cheer him up. He shook his head, mumbling "Nevermind."
You watched with raised brows as he walked out of your apartment, his hands in his pockets as he shook his head at himself. You decided to let him be, thinking that Jensen needed time alone to sort things out himself.

“Alright, so we’re going to have Ethan run down this hallway here, turn, tight in over his shoulder and push past to go down the way he came to catch sight of the baddie chasing him,” said Mark, your director of photography. You pursed your lips and hummed, walking through the warehouse location, your dad watching off to the side.
“Reverse it,” you said. “I want the supposed baddie’s back, in the first hallway, chasing my dad. Tight in over his shoulder, push past that guy and then get onto my dad. It’s supposed to be scary. I want the chase and tension.”
“You got it boss,” said Mark.
“You sure that’s what you want to do, kiddo?” asked your dad, Ethan. You glanced over your shoulder and raised an eyebrow.
“I want a ‘heart stops beating in the chest’ moment,” you said. “Fear. Prey being hunted.”
“But my character turns out to be the predator in this case,” he said, leaning against the wall.
“Exactly. The audience won’t know until it’s too late. Heart stopping, edge of the seat opening scene. I want them to feel for Hale and then have him flip the tables on them and then flip ‘em right back. I want the hallway shot one long continuous shot too. We might need to work on it some and get in a few rehearsals but it’s what I want,” you said.
“Sounds good. Opening scenes can really make a movie. I can’t wait to start filming next week,” said Mark with a grin. “This is going to get nominated for an Oscar or some shit.”
“I’ll settle for not bombing at the box office,” you said, pulling out your phone to check the time. “It’s starting to get late. I’m good for the day if you guys are.”
“Good with me. I’ll see you bright and early on Monday, Y/N,” said Mark. You gave him a wave as he headed out, your dad poking his head down the hallway again as you walked around one last time.
“I sound like a total bitch, don’t I, demanding what I want to do,” you said. He whipped his head around and frowned.
“No sweetie, not at all. Director ain’t an easy gig. You’re gonna have to know what you want all the time and some days, you’ll have to be a hardass about it. But you’re doing very good with all of your prep work. No one knows this story like you do,” he said.
“Why did I agree to do this,” you groaned, rubbing your hands over your face. “I wrote the damn book. Why did I say I’d direct it too? Direct my own father?”
“Because you love this story. I love this story. Mom and Anthony and Ella love it. You wanted it to get the treatment it deserves. You’re gonna do great,” he said.
“Remind me of this when I’m two weeks into filming and I end up flipping out,” you said. He gave you a big squeezing hug, spinning you around in circles. “Dad.”
“Mhm, sweetie,” he said. “You’re coming over for dinner to relax. No excuses.”
“I’ll take the free food,” you said, resting your head on his shoulder as you walked out towards where the car was parked. “How’d you not be terrified all the time?”
“Terrified of what?” he asked.
“You had me when you were 18. I was nine by the time you were my age. I can’t even keep a houseplant alive and now I’m making a multi million dollar movie and I feel like I’m gonna explode already. I can’t imagine being responsible for a kid,” you said.
“I was terrified to be honest. Grandma and grandpa helped us a lot. The whole family did. Becoming a rising Hollywood star was nothing compared to single dad though. You used to be the center of attention when my buddies would come over. You remember that?” he asked.
“I was your responsibility though,” you said.
“And I don’t regret having you for a second,” he said, kissing the top of your head. “How cool is it that we get to work together? This is going to be great, sweetie. I’ll try to help the hard days not be so hard too, okay?”
“Okay. I grew up on film sets. Hopefully this doesn’t go as bad as I think it will.”
“What do you mean he’s out? He can’t be out. He’s the other fucking lead!” you shouted into your phone late Monday morning. Your dad slurped up his noodles from his lunch at the craft services tent, most everyone going quiet and looking at you. You ditched your plate and went outside to the lot, running your hand over your face. “Where is Gil Nicholas going? He signed-”
“Dropped out. His contract allowed him to do that up until filming started which technically wasn’t until tomorrow so he’s able to do it,” said the casting director on the other end.
“What…” you said, taking a deep breath.
“Relax, Y/L/N. I’ve known your dad since he was a bright eyed 18 year old kid. I ain’t calling with this kind of news without having a backup plan. There’s this guy out there, Jensen Ackles. He’s an up and comer. He was on a sci-fi horror network show that got the axe after a few seasons. The kid’s good though. Better than Gil for sure. He doesn’t have the name recognition that Nicholas did and this would be his biggest production ever but the kid is used to the horror genre,” he said.
“It’s not a horror movie,” you grumbled. “I’ve never heard of this guy. How old is he?”
“Twenty eight. Been in the business for about ten years. He’s got a good strong look to him. Athletic but soft,” he said. “He’s good looking. The face alone would get some people out to see the film. Get his shirt off and stick that in the trailer, you’ll get people to come see this movie no problem.”
“I wrote the damn book in my childhood bedroom. I published it and sold the movie deal on my own. If I need to get someone naked to sell this story, it doesn’t deserve to be on the big screen,” you said.
“Okay...relax before you blow a gasket. I got some other guys that could play Lyle. We could put together an emergency casting session this evening, see about getting a guy in for the morning?” he asked.
“Alright. Do the session. My dad’s off the rest of the day so see if he’s available for chemistry reads,” you said. “Please.”
“Can do, Y/N. The studio isn’t going to let one of the most popular books of the past few years crash and burn. It’s a goldmine waiting to happen for them. We’ll find the right guy to play Lyle. I promise.”
“Hey,” you said, jogging into the casting studio around 8 that night, catching your dad reading over a page of the script. “How was Ella’s volleyball game?”
“They won. She spiked the ball and hit some poor girl in the face though. She was crying the last time I saw her,” said your dad.
“I’ll call her after this,” you said, closing your eyes. “How’d the chemistry reads go?”
“Just got that Ackles kid left to do. I’ll be honest. It ain’t been pretty in there. Two hot shots that ain’t worth shit, one that sounds horrible and another that can’t even pronounce full words,” he said.
“Lovely,” you said. “Where’s the Ackles guy then? I thought you guys were expecting to be wrapped up by now.”
“Late. Not the best sign,” he said. You squeezed your eyes shut and tilted your head back. “Go take a walk around the building, kiddo. I’ll talk to casting, see if there’s other possibilities. Worst case, we rework schedules, film anything without a lead while they find one.”
“This is a disaster and it’s only the first day,” you said.
“Y/N. Go on, take a breather,” said your dad. You sighed but went back outside, throwing your head back as you started to walk the block for a few minutes.
A whistle from a dim alley made you roll your eyes as you walked past.
“Hey, princess. I was talking to you,” said the man.
“Fuck off. Not in the mood,” you said. Next thing you knew a hand was on your shoulder and you were being shoved back against a brick building.
“Well that’s not very nice,” said the guy.
“Hey!” barked another voice. You both turned your heads to spot a younger guy already looking a little beat up walking down the sidewalk. “Pick on somebody your own size.”
“You want another ass kicking tonight? Looks like you already lost,” said the guy. He turned his attention to the other man but you were still stuck in a dead end alley with him. You tried to brush past him but the guy caught your arm, the younger one staring him down. “Just having a fight with my girlfriend, buddy.”
“I’m not your girlfriend, fuckface,” you said, stomping on his foot and turning around, kicking him in the nuts. He dropped your arm and you ran past to the young guy, standing behind him for a moment.
“Get out of here. Now,” he said. You took off back down the block to the casting studio, ducking into the lobby. Five minutes later you were pacing the halls, trying to get through on the phone to the police when the young guy appeared sporting a freshly bruised cheek. “Hey, you okay?”
“Yeah. Thanks. You? I’m trying to get through to the police but they put me on hold,” you said. He gave you a smile and shook his head.
“I’m fine. Rough night is all,” he said as he wiped some dirt off his cheek. He was handsome and looked strong but you could tell he wasn’t the fighting type.
“Busy saving other damsels?” you joked.
“The car in front of me tonight got in an accident. Car rolled and I helped get the driver out. Guy went into diabetic coma for a hot second so that was fun hanging with him until the ambulance got there and then that just happened. Obviously not my night. I’m supposed to be having the biggest audition of my life two hours ago here. Probably a sign it’s not meant to be,” he said.
“Well there’s at least two people out there grateful for you popping up tonight. Maybe your audition will go well,” you said, smiling to yourself.
“I doubt it,” he said. “I should just go home. They probably won’t even let me anymore.”
“I know some people that work here,” you said, his ears perking up. “Give me your name. I’ll make sure you get your audition.”
“Really? Uh, thanks. I’m Jensen Ackles. I’m supposed to be auditioning for Lyle Sullivan on The Dark Woods movie,” he said.
You stared at him, Jensen giving you a smile.
“You okay? If you don’t know anyone on that that’s cool, really,” he said. You nodded and said you’d take care of it. You went down another hall and into a large audition room where your dad was talking with the casting director while on the phone with one of his cop friends.
“Hey. Ackles is here,” you said.
“Kid’s two hours late,” said the casting director.
“We’re desperate, not that desperate,” said your dad. “Trust me. If he can’t even show up for an audition on time-”
“He’s the guy that just got that other one to leave me alone on the street,” you said. Your dad immediately put down his phone and looked at you. “He says he helped a guy who was in a car accident earlier and that’s why he’s late. He looks it. I want to give him a chance.”
“Alright. He can have a chance,” said your dad.
“Alright. Ethan, scene 22 again. Y/N, want to watch in here or on the monitor?” asked the director.
“Monitor. I’ll pop back in with my decision,” you said. You went in the back room and sat down, a TV on a small table in front of you. You turned it on and reached across the table, finding one of the pads of paper and pens that were normally there. You jotted down a few things to yourself.
He had the look of Lyle which was a huge plus for you. Short cute brown hair in spiky strands. The signature green eyes. The slight scruff on his cheeks.
He popped in front of the camera, still and quiet as he watched a few people move about. He was tall and had strong arms but there was something innocent and kind about him you couldn’t place. You smiled. Lyle had to be both the soft sweet boy and the tear your throat out with his teeth type. This guy seemed like he could pull that off potentially.
You sat back and watched your dad appear on the screen, shaking hands with Jensen briefly before they started.
Twenty minutes later you leaned back in your seat and stood up. Jensen was good. Nervous around your dad and shy but that was okay. During the read, all of that fell away. He was Lyle Sullivan, far better than Gil had ever played him. Jensen seemed to know just how to play Lyle’s relationship with Hale and it made you wonder if he’d ever read the book.
You popped into the casting room, Jensen no longer in there, your dad and a few other people discussing what they’d seen.
“We know what we think. What about our director?” asked your dad as he crossed his arms.
“I want him. I want him real bad,” you said. “He was good.”
“Alright. I think we’re all at a consensus then,” said the casting director with a smile. “We need him in tomorrow morning to start filming though. We need to work a temporary contract out tonight and-”
“Give him Gil’s contract, minus the ability to pull out,” you said. “It’s simple.”
“The studio ain’t paying a small screen, barely has a fan base, guy a couple million dollars,” he said.
“The Dark Woods is a wildly popular book with a built in fan base. Pay the man his money. What’s the big deal,” you said.
“I’m telling you right now, they won’t pay the kid three million,” he said. “He isn’t worth it in their eyes. Your dad is an established, multi-franchise, lead for both TV and movies. There is a reason your father is being paid very well. You earn that in this business, kid.”
“I negotiated my salary and a movie deal, on my own. Don’t call me a kid. I am twenty seven years old and do not tell me I don’t know what I’m doing. Use Gil’s contract and get him signed before he leaves the building,” you said. The casting director stared at you before he got up and left the room. Your dad gave you a look that you rolled your eyes at. “What?”
“You’re gonna be just fine as a director, kiddo.”
“Hey,” you said around midnight when you finally had all of the paperwork settled. Jensen was walking out into the main hall with his agent by his side. “How’d it go?”
“I got it!” he said, all smiles, his agent saying a quick goodnight to him. “Thank you so much for putting in a good word. I can’t believe they even let me audition let alone gave me the role.”
“Well, I just got you the audition. You got the job on your own,” you said.
“Still. I owe you a drink,” he said. He had big bright green eyes, still a bit shy but you could tell his excitement was giving him some confidence.
“I have work very, very early in the morning,” you said with a laugh, his face falling for a split second. “But I will definitely take a raincheck for Saturday night?”
“Alright. Sounds good to me,” he said as he smiled. You swapped phones for a moment, Jensen practically bouncing with excitement.
“You excited about this job, huh?” you asked as you put your phone away.
“You ever hear of The Dark Woods book? I love it. It’s so good. I was super excited to hear they were making it a movie and now I get to play Lyle freaking Sullivan? If you haven’t read it, you got to,” he said. “It’s awesome.”
“I’ll have to take a look sometime,” you said. “I’ll text you sometime for Saturday then?”
“Yeah. This is turning out to be the best day ever,” he said with a smirk. “I’ll see you around, Y/N.”

“Ella,” you said into your phone the next morning as you walked out of your budget meeting, ready to dive into filming. “It was an accident. I’m sure the girl on the other team knows that.”
“I know. I broke her nose though. I felt so bad,” she said.
“She’ll live. Talk to your coach. Maybe she knows the other one and you can send a get well card or something,” you said.
“Yeah, I think maybe I’ll do that,” she said. “How’s the movie going? I didn’t hear dad come home last night.”
“There was a slight problem yesterday but hopefully it’s settled now,” you said, hearing the phone get shuffled around. “No, Anthony, I’m not getting you Gil Nicholas’ autograph. Guy isn’t even going to be in the movie.”
“Really?” asked your brother.
“Really. He’s kind of a douche. I gotta go and you guys have school. I’ll talk to you guys later,” you said.
“Wait!” said Anthony. “The Nolan situation. You said you’d help.”
“Help what? You two are dating,” you said.
“Mom and dad, genius,” he said.
“Anthony,” groaned Ella in the background. “Mom and dad will not care that you like boys. Y/N and I like boys and they don’t.”
“Yeah but I’m the only boy and our dad literally plays a badass on TV and in movies, El,” he said.
“Anthony. Our dad also was a single father to me for years. He played dress up and princesses and he gave me the puberty talk. He loves you no matter what. So does mom. Trust me,” you said.
“Yeah, but you’re like, his favorite,” he said. You shut your eyes and sighed. “You know what I mean. You’re special.”
“I didn’t meet mom until I was ten years old, Anthony. Dad and I were on our own. I’m not his favorite. There’s no favorite,” you said. “Dad is just overly protective of me is all. We’ll talk about your cute little boyfriend later, okay? I promise.”
“Alright. See ya,” he said. You shook your head as you hung up and headed onto the set, stopping by the breakfast line to grab some coffee.
An hour later you were at the Hale’s house location, everything looking like it was running smoothly. You popped inside and saw your dad rehearsing with Jensen, giving them both a smile.
“How’s it going?” you asked.
“Good,” said your dad. “We gonna start soon?”
“Five or so minutes,” you said, Jensen staring at you.
“Sorry. I didn’t realize you were a PA on the movie,” he said. Your dad chuckled along with a few other people in the room.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” you said, holding out a hand and watching the color drain from Jensen’s face. “I’m your director and the author of The Dark Woods.”
“Well fuck me,” he said, shaking your hand as you smirked. “Oh my...I am so sorry for being late last night and assuming you were a PA and you’re Ethan Y/L/N’s daughter and you wrote my favorite book ever which I was totally fanboying out over last night and I’m going to shut up now.”
“Don’t do that. You’re getting paid to talk after all,” you said with a smile. “Walk with me for a second.”
He followed you out to the back porch and across the yard, swallowing loudly when you came to a stop by a tree.
“Sorry about not mentioning it earlier. I didn’t want you to be nervous in your audition if I was there and I figured it wasn’t a huge deal if you found out this morning,” you said.
“No, no mam. It’s-”
“Please, no mam or boss or that crap. Y/N, that’s it,” you said. “I’m not even your boss.”
“I’m mostly embarrassed about how I gushed last night about the book to the freakin author,” he said, some blush crossing his cheeks.
“As the freakin author, we live for that shit,” you laughed. Jensen relaxed and let out a small one of his own. “I watched your audition. You knew Lyle inside and out.”
“I’ve read the book more than a few times. I…” he trailed off, face going red.
“Yes?”
“I should quit while I’m ahead,” he said.
“Maybe you can tell me why you like it so much over that drink,” you said, giving him a smile. He looked around and raised an eyebrow.
“You still want to do that?” he asked.
“I’m in charge. It doesn’t mean I’m your boss. That’s casting’s job. I would still expect a drink,” you said.
“Is that such a good idea?” he asked.
“Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I sort of asked as...not friends,” he said. “You being...you and the director…”
“Oh,” you said.
“Your dad is kind of terrifying too,” he said.
“Yeah. He has scared off more than a few guys. Or they’re more interested in him,” you said, forcing a smile. You’d never in a million years want him to feel uncomfortable so if he wanted to keep things professional, that was okay with you. “I guess I’ll be drinking alone on Saturday then.”
“I mean, I didn’t say…” he trailed off. “Maybe someday-“
“It’s cool, Jensen. Let’s get started for the day, hm?” you said. He nodded and you headed back inside the house, finding your chair in a back room. “We ready to go?”
“Mhm,” said your assistant director AJ as he took a seat beside you. You sat back and pulled on your headphones as various departments started shouting off, the camera lining up its first shot.
“Action!” you called. Your dad walked into the kitchen, pointing for Jensen to take a seat. He begrudgingly did so, your dad going to the fridge and pulling out a carton of eggs.
“You live here?” asked Jensen.
“No. I pay the mortgage on this place for fun. Of course I live here, kid,” he said. “Now keep your mouth shut.”
“You’re not a very pleasant person,” mumbled Jensen. Your dad spun around and grabbed the fork off the table, holding it up to Jensen’s neck. He froze, not even letting a breath escape.
“I am still not positive if I’m letting you live yet so be quiet if you want to increase your odds,” he said. Jensen swallowed and your dad pulled away, going back to the eggs. “I hope you like fried eggs.”
“Actually I don’t,” said Jensen. Your dad spun around again but this time Jensen stared him down.
“Fried eggs it is,” he said with a smirk. Jensen rolled his eyes and you called cut.
“Do it again,” you said. “Jensen, can you pause when you walk in and take a look around this time? Notice the house a bit.”
“No problem,” he said.
“Reset,” you said, waiting for them to get out of view of the camera. “Action!”
“Hey, Jensen,” you said, catching him in the parking lot for the actors near the production office that evening. He spun around with a smile, fixing his backpack on his shoulders.
“Hi, Y/N. What’s up?” he asked.
“I uh, just wanted to say you did really good today. I’m really happy you’re playing Lyle,” you said.
“Oh. Thanks. I’m nowhere near as good as your dad,” he said. “He’s kind of insanely good at this.”
“He’s had more practice,” you said. “Honestly though, I’m glad Gil dropped out. He wouldn’t have done what you were doing today.”
“Why’d he drop out anyways? He’s in freaking Marvel movies. He’s huge,” said Jensen.
“I think he got an offer to do some serious drama. He doesn’t need a breakthrough role. He’s already had that. To be honest I never liked the choice,” you said.
“Well, Lyle’s smart. Gil isn’t exactly known for playing intelligent characters,” said Jensen. You smirked and he rubbed the back of his neck. “I probably shouldn’t trash talk him. I’ve never met him.”
“I have. Trust me. He deserves it. You know your Lyle Sullivan,” you said.
“I started rereading today during a few breaks. Never hurts to have the source material in your head,” he said.
“Not sure Gil can read so you’re already winning,” you said. Jensen laughed and nodded. “You don’t have to reread though Jensen. I kept the script the same as the book.”
“Oh, I know. I could tell there weren’t really any changes between them. I just like rereading it,” he said.
“I like to read it every once in a while too,” you said. “I’d say if you ever had any questions on how to play a scene or how Lyle would act feel free to ask but I have a feeling you won’t need help in that department.”
“You had plenty of notes for me today,” he said, ducking his head down.
“I’m sorry,” you said, his head instantly popping up.
“No, no. They were good. It’s kind of why I’m reading it again. Take the kitchen scene today. It’s very clear in the book how Lyle looks around the space,” he said. You stared at him and smiled.
“Jensen, you don’t have to memorize the thing. It’s why I give you notes, so you don’t have to. I know I went a bit overboard today. I’ll try to ease up some.”
“No, it’s good. Keep doing it. It makes it better,” he said. “I want to make it look as good as possible. I can’t imagine being in charge of everything.”
“Well I only get called kid in every meeting I’m in which is lovely,” you said. “I mean my dad is the other lead. I get the whole people thinking this is nepotism thing.”
“Didn’t you use a pen name during publishing though, at least to get someone to choose it on it’s own merits, not your name? I thought I read that,” he said.
“Yeah. I did. Once I got the deal I gave my real name. I mean, people can think whatever they want. I wanted it published because it was good enough though, not because some chick in an office thinks my dad is attractive or something,” you said.
“I can understand that,” he said. “Hey, can I ask question about the book?”
“Shoot,” you said as he leaned back against his car.
“Why does the cover have a picture of the woods on a bright day if it’s the Dark Woods? I always wondered that,” he said.
“Oh boy,” you laughed. “It’s been a while since I’ve been asked that. If you can believe it, there was a printing error where they forgot to add a filter but it was too late to go back and fix it. I ended up liking it.”
“Here I thought it was because Lyle’s a good guy, Hale too, despite all the reasons they have to be bad,” he said. “You know, light in dark. Symbolism or whatever.”
“Nah,” you laughed, Jensen letting out one of his own. “I do like that interpretation though. I uh, I’m sorry for keeping you. I’m sure you want to get home. I have to go do some more work. I won’t keep you anymore.”
“No, it’s cool. I like talking to you,” he said. “I’ll catch you around tomorrow, Y/N.”
“You too, Jensen.”
You headed into the building, heading upstairs to where your movie had a few rooms to use. You popped into your small office and pulled out your laptop from your backpack, stretching before you grabbed your binder and sat down.
You skimmed through it and made some notes, hopping back and forth between it and your email for a while. You yawned and put your head in your hand, scrolling through a few things and making a choice on a few costume choices for Jensen and your dad.
“Kiddo,” said your dad, shaking your shoulder all of a sudden. You popped your head up from your production office desk, your dad giving you a smile. “You missed mom’s calls earlier. She had me come check on you since you never answered. I think you conked out at some point.”
“What time is it?” you yawned.
“About three in the morning. I checked your apartment first,” he said. “Come on, up and at ‘em.”
“I got to be here at six for prep, might as well stay,” you said, stretching in your seat.
“You’ll burn yourself out if you pull all-nighters all the time,” he said. “It’s only day three.”
“And it took a lot longer to film yesterday’s scenes than I thought it would,” you said. “Everything was good but the location hopping took way longer than I thought it would.”
“Follow me,” he said. You groaned and he pulled you to your feet, guiding you down the hall and outside to the night air. You walked for a few minutes until you were at his trailer door, your dad opening it up and flipping on the light switch.
“Your trailers have gotten nicer over the years,” you said as you stepped up inside
“And what was your favorite part of my trailers ever since you were a little girl?” he asked, walking you back to the bedroom. “The big ass bed.”
“They were awesome for jumping on,” you said.
“Well next time you skip dinner at our place, text mom so she doesn’t worry and the next time you need to stay late, crash here, sweetie,” he said. “Now sleep, kiddo. I’ll be out on the pullout.”
“Thanks dad,” you said, getting a kiss on the forehead before you plopped down on the bed.
