"Zelda regarded the empty mortuary with a strange mixture of feelings that sat tightly in her chest." (first sentence of a fic)
It was the end of a long and very proud era. With Hilda having moved on with her life and Ambrose adventuring the world, still seeking out his own purpose, there was nobody left with whom to run a business.
True, there was still Sabrina, but given her infernal entanglements, Zelda knew that asking her niece to show an interest in the family business would be an exercise in futility. And despite her frequent words to the contrary, the ancient witch traditions which informed their family’s profession as morticians were of no real interest to Sabrina. The girl wanted the flash and flourish of magic, not its weighty history, its halls of wizened tomes.
And so, that left only one: Zelda Phiona Spellman, the last of the Greendale Spellmans, matriarch, elder sister, aunt, guardian, teacher, high priestess, directrix...
“In the absence of all those things,” she murmured to the cold room at large, “what am I really?”
“Perhaps you can decide that for yourself, eh?” came the good-humoured voice, and Zelda spun around to see Marie leaning against the kitchen door-frame.
“I’m... sorry. I was allowing myself to dwell on sentimental things. Perhaps dementia is finally approaching.” She swept her hair over her shoulder, shrugging with manufactured mirth.
Marie smiled kindly, but showed that she believed Zelda’s show not a whit. “Things are allowed to change, chérie. It is how we prevent the world rotting from inside.”
Zelda nodded stoically. “Of course, I’m well aware of that. I suppose I just,” she tipped her face back to stare up the stately walls, the elegant staircase, the ever-dependable roof, “I don’t like to see a thriving business like this, well... die. As it were.”
“It does not have to. Have you not considered mon conseil?”
“I’d like to, but Marie... hiring a mortal to work in a witch mortuary? It goes against centuries of tradition. Why, the things they could accidentally learn!”
“Maybe it does not have to be so accidental?”
“The mere idea of wilfully opening the curtain to a mortal? To simply reveal our unholy traditions? Ludicrous.”
Marie raised her eyebrows, pushed effortlessly off the frame, and slowly sauntered over. “Mais oui, I suppose you could say that. But maybe, if you look at it from another direction? Brave Zelda, do you not already raise le marteau de forgeron to tradition?”

The Following (which I can’t remember if I shared on tumblr yet or not, if so please forgive me >w<;;) is from the upcoming ch15 of Terpsichore ACTI !
With a soft huff Jim scrolled to the most recent images, and paused at the sight of a video. Glancing at his mom to discern how deeply asleep she was, he lowered the volume as much as it could, and pressed play.
Barbara was on selfie mode for a moment, hushing the viewer. She was dressed in a tank top as much as Jim could tell.
And someone was singing in the distance, “~Say it’s only a canvas sky, hanging over a muslin tree~ But it wouldn’t be make believe, if you believed in me~”

Heeey! Me again! Just got round to watching the latest episode and still hurting for the both of them. Have you come across a promo for the last ep of the season yet? :)
The last episode was really painful and the next is going to be painful as well. Yes there are two promo videos available. Here and here. Watch and you will see how painful it already feels.
Oh man now there are people saying coloured haha. I'll see how it goes, I'm partial to the monochrome myself but I might be able to do both. @jeremyholmes the design is specifically for t-shirts so they'll be available when I'm done :)
Have you come across a promo for episode 7 at all? :) Thanks for all your gifsets and links, I've become so hooked!
Oh yes I have. One is here. The other is here. And thank youuu. I am glad to make you hooked in this.
Aaaaaaaaa thank yooooouuuu @jeremyholmes let me know when it arrives! :D
