Fun Fact Friday

1. A slight change to the Leonardo da Vinci flashback. Meet Lisa, a changeling. Lisa is a fae, through and through, but she’s also adapt at taking the faces of humans and inserting herself into their lives. 

While you’re working as a muse to da Vinci, she shows up, some 30 years before the most famous painting in the world is even a sketch on canvas.

2. Out of Iro, Aelius, Ryder, and Sabriel, Ryder has been living in the United States the longest. He’s also lived in what is modern day Canada, and may or may not have something to do with reports of Ijiraq and Akhlut.

3. When the Berlin wall went up, Iro dragged Aelius with her into East Berlin. All Aelius will say is “Let’s not have a repeat of Berlin.”

4. Most of the farmers around Jericho City aren’t human, or are well aware of the supernatural. There are too many things living on the outskirts to not be, unless you want to end up dead.

5. There’s been a rumor that the author is determined to get the update out before her birthday, “update out by the twelfth or bust.” We can now confirm that the rumor is mostly true, but that the deadline is the eighth.

Fun Fact Friday

1. Cover news! I am working with the amazingly talented @erionmakuo for SoS’s cover (thank you all the ko-fi supporters for making this possible; the shorts are still in the works.) The first round of sketches is available to view in the discord; I will not be posting them here as I would prefer to receive feedback in a more concentrated manner.

2. I will confirm that there’s a plan for a sixteenth (I know, really) ace RO. Name has been said, but even if I do decide to confirm who it is, you all won’t be getting any details other than name, potentially occupation. That means you won’t get to ask them questions, and anything on them will go into a black hole.

3. Lucifer may own a development or two in Jericho City.

4. Zaria’s guilty pleasure is buying very expensive bottles of rare wine vintages. Of course, she can afford it.

5. Karyn has learned the hard-way you do not tackle Charleston unless you want to get flipped, hard, in the not-fun way.

Fun Fact Friday

1. Sabriel also enjoys the movie John Carter of Mars. If she calls you Virginia, take it as a compliment.

2. Leo likes to shoot hoops to help relax. Tadea doesn’t enjoy it as much, but she’s gotten good because she refuses to just let him win at ‘Horse’.

3. Careful of the waters. Not all the supernaturals who reside in Jericho City live on the land, and not all of them are friendly.

4. The coffee shop Karyn works at is called The Giant’s Beans, and serves drinks such as “Jack be Quick,” “The Golden Goose,” “The Magic Beans,” “Beanstalk, Straight Up,” “BFG,” and “Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum.”

5. There are a great many ley lines that cross underneath Jericho City, one of the many reasons it is such a supernatural haven.

Fun Fact Friday

1. Tumblr has over 500 followers! I’d like to do something special to celebrate, so if you have an idea, let me know! (Otherwise this may be sum of the ‘celebration’)

2. Expanded relationships: Iain. His mother is Elaine, his father Sean. His older sister is Bridget, his niece is Claire, his nephew Ryan, and his on-again, off-again assistant district attorney girlfriend is Antonia Vasquez.

3. Playing through the Egyptian deity flashback will create a variation for the scene where Gabriel earns (or, at least, receives) the title The Wrath of God.

4. Alice terrorizes negotiates with an imp for information when K is being less than helpful or demands too high a price. Iggy will and does flee at the sight of Alice, but if she can catch him, he usually has a lead or two.  

5. The harbor to Jericho still features an old sea-wall and an impressive gate that has rusted open. On top of Jericho’s already unique situation and status, the indication of ancient seafaring war, evidenced by the watch-towers and battlements, provide another must-see for any tourists who come to town.

Fun Fact Friday

1. Sarethiel is the most vain archangel, even though they are constantly changing their appearance and changing male and female. You might not ever see their face, but Sarethiel knows that if you did, it would be the best looking face in the room (or at least according to them).

2. Drinks Tom would make for the archangel nestmates (not including Gabriel for obvious reasons):

Ramiel: It depends on his mood, but in a good mood a modified hurricane (1 oz coconut rum, 1 oz dark rum, fill with orange juice and pineapple juice, splash of grenadine with a float of 1/2 oz dark rum, topped with a pineapple and cherry). In one of his darker moods, vodka on the rocks.

Israfel: Scotch, neat, if it’s later in the evening. If it’s early, a glass of orange muscat.

Michael: A white gummi bear, modified into a highball cocktail (3/4 oz peach schnapps, 3/4 oz raspberry vodka, splash of lime juice, fill with sprite)

3. Ezor(a) would have copied Gabriel’s wing color and Angel Blade (if they hadn’t been cut.)

4. Marie Garrow, formerly Taylor, did not grow up in a formal pack. Her parents were ambassadors working on uniting all wolves as well as monitoring the status of packs. She met Tom in college, and the two were almost immediately smitten. Marie was determined to start a new pack, and given her extensive contact with other packs was able to pull together enough members to be officially declared as a new pack. Her decision to move to Jericho City was considered strange, but as there were no conflicting claims it was allowed.

5. The population of Jericho City is roughly 61,000. The police force is 117 members strong.

Fun Fact Friday

Because the allure of alliteration and the desire to share random character facts that may not come up elsewhere is too strong to resist.

1. Stephanie is a very good sniper, as far as accuracy, range, and distance go. She isn’t trained like a military sniper, but expect her to hit her target (and maybe she cheats a little bit with magic inscribed into her sniper rifle).

2. Iain was frequently excused from his introductory theology course (specifically focusing on the evolution of the Catholic Church and taught by a priest) in college for asking disruptive questions (he went to a Catholic college/university where students were required to take 2 theology courses). James McKinnon (also known as Father McKinnon) has never let him live it down.

3. Sabriel’s favorite day is May 4th. (Because she can’t not internally giggle whenever it’s brought up because “May the fourth be with you.” She is such a huge Star Wars geek.)

4. Our main detective squad (Iain, Charleston, Alice, and Stephanie) are featured in two calendars that was sold to raise money for charity. Each calendar features 12 police, fire department, and other first responders, one composed of the men, one composed of the women. (Charleston was Mister October, Iain Mister August, Stephanie Miss May, and Alice Miss January). There wasn’t a whole lot of clothing involved ;)

5. Jericho City shouldn’t be possible. Much like experts can’t agree on how/why Stonehenge came to be, they are baffled by the enigma that is JC. However, people started building modern structures in amongst the ancient ruins, so studying the ancient city is a difficult task. No one can even agree on where the stones making up the walls come from, though all experts can agree that they are not native to the region around JC.

Jericho is the name of the city,  It is located very close to the Jordan river. There were huge walls all around the city. The people of Jericho became afraid of Israelites because they came to knew what miracles they have done near the river Jordan. They locked up their gates not allowing anyone in or out of the city. The Lord said to Joshua how to enter into the city. “Your Army is to walk around the city once a day for 6 days followed by 7 priests walking ahead of the ark and on the 7th day blowing trumpets,  shouting loudly you are to walk around the city 7 times along with the priests,” Then the huge walls will fall down and then you can go in.

Every day at dawn the Army left the camp for 6 days. They all walked around the city followed by the priests walking ahead of the ark.

On the 7th day as usual at dawn they left the camp but on this day instead of walking one time around the city, they walked around 7 times. The army first followed ahead of the ark. After they had walked around the 7th time, the priests gave a loud blast on their trumpets. Everyone shouted as loudly as they could. “The Lord has given us this city” with that sound, the walls began shaking, crumbling and tumbling down.                                   

The people inside were so frightened and feared they didn’t know what to do, they began running here and there. They were scared of the situation. They scattered everywhere. Then Israelites just walked into the city. All this happened because “God was with them”

Fun Fact Friday

1. Introducing Xeri, a Reaper you may, or may not, want to run into.

2. Jericho City has capital punishment.

3. According to humans, there may be an issue with corruption in the political scene of JC, including JCPD. There seem to be an inordinate amount of suspects who get away with their crimes and then disappear...

4. The weather of JCPD is strangely unpredictable. Carry an umbrella, and a winter coat, but be ready to take off layers and break out the sunscreen.

5. There are two highschools in JC, and one rather exceptional University--at least, in certain circles.
