‘petrol fueled pain’
@doomdreaming
found a 1952 jerry can with some markings, 103rd Medical Battalion HQ. It will go nicely on my 1952 Dodge.

Do you experience Reduced mileage, issues of security or loss in ease of access with the Jerry cans up top? Looking to do the same, but was curious... Swing aways are more expensive for pick ups than a cargo basket. Thanks for reading my question, love your work! You're a big inspiration for me, I'm a Washington native making my first trek to the desert this May for overland expo 2018.
Thanks for the question fellow Washington Native (I grew up on a farm on the east side of the state). Shit, the reduce mileage I experience is simply because I drive an 1988 Land Cruiser! But seriously, I haven’t noticed any change in mileage with a jerry can on the roof. However, if you are going to store fuel on the roof rack and haven’t already purchased a jerry can look into getting the flat 4 gallon Rotopax container. I use Rotopax on the rear swingarm of our VW Vanagan as well as my Yamaha XT600 and have never worried about theft - because you can get a locking handle for them. My longterm goal for the Land Cruiser is a new rear bumper with a swingarm. Have a good time at the Overland Expo man - and swing by the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in Salt Lake City on your way down, it is AMAZING. Cheers man!
