Jerry Goldsmith - Logan's Run OMPST, MGM Records 1976. Run, runner! Sometimes I think the dystopian future is already here. Love both this soundtrack and film! Goldsmith is probably my favorite composer. A master of creating tense and evocative music. Brilliantly contrasting electronics for the city and full orchestra for the outside "natural" world. I think Goldsmith's work definitely influenced my tastes towards an embrace of not just electronic music, but soundscapes, abstracted collages and noise. He scored so many of my favorite films and TV, so his music has always been present in my life. And just like that, bag 8 is finished. I will likely go for Bag 9 next week since there's quite a bit to do this #weekend around the house. Most of the work was done on the top of the left wall. We start to see some of the two #spires forming at their bases and some elements along the top of the wall coming to view. I will also make an admission about #Mulan that despite seeing it for the first time in 19 years, the #music work by #JerryGoldsmith is some of the best in any #Disney film, #Princess or otherwise. I still get chills down my back at the end sequence!

Leonard Bernstein & Jerry Goldsmith Commission for @a.wintory 🎶🎹 I finally had the guts to use this papyrus that I bought in Egypt last year. A talk I had with Austin not more than a month, in which he told me a little bit of his idols's life, made me realize that if we don't have the courage to make things happen, nobody ever will do it for us. So I decided to make this commission more special than it was. I never had the chance to paint on this material before because I was too scared of screwing it up, and nevertheless I loved the experience! Those were the only two 11 x 17 sheets I had and I gave them a better use than I ever thought I would. Español- Finalmente tuve "los huevos" de usar éste papiro que compré en Egipto el año pasado. Una conversación que tuve con Austin hace masomenos un mes, en la que me comentó la vida de sus ídolos me hizo entender que si no tenemos el coraje de hacer las cosas, nadie nunca las hará por nosotros. Así que decidí que ésta comisión tuviera ese algo en específico que lo hiciera más especial. Nunca había tenido la oportunidad de pintar en éste material y sin embargo me encantó. Eran los únicos dos papiros que tenía de 11 x 17 y sin embargo creo que les di mejor uso del que jamás pensé.
