This is a post breakup, 8b au.
Buck takes a leave from the LAFD and goes to Colorado to be a ski resort paramedic for the winter; he promises Bobby he’ll come back before the new Buckley-Han baby is born.
While he’s in Colorado, he goes to the local library to try and actually like… investigate his queerness. Through research. One of the librarians he meets actually runs an LGBTQ group that meets at the library and Buck gets some queer friends! They also maybe actually make him think about what he and Tommy were/are/could be, roast him a lot, and teach him how to make friendship bracelets.
Meanwhile, in LA…
Tommy actually shows up at Buck’s, only to find Albert there instead. Briefly and horribly thinks Buck has already moved on before Albert’s like “yeah I’m housesitting!”
Albert and Tommy become friends, one night while they are out drinking they run into Taylor. They become a weird trio that hangs out, Tommy has no idea if either of them know about Buck liking men and firmly says nothing about it, they run into the 118 at a bar one night, NO ONE knows how to react. Lucy eventually hangs out with them too, they find out Buck is on a leave. Lucy and Taylor conspire to go to the ski resort he works at and get their new/old bestie Tommy to fly them there.
Poor Buck, when he literally turns around and finds them all at his new job :)
