I personally think grocery shopping is a sensory nightmare, but I like to imagine Buck and Tommy grocery shopping together. They each take part of the list and split up to see who can get their list done first.
And Tommy almost never wins.
Buck knows how efficient Tommy is and how focused he can be, so he doesn’t get it.
But on one of their shopping trips, as Buck is looking for the first item on his list, canned tomatoes, he hears Tommy’s laughter in the next aisle over. Tommy’s list had all the meat and produce they need and those are located on the outer ring, nowhere near the aisle he’s in. Buck abandons his tomato search and goes to the next aisle over and sees Tommy taking several cans down from a top shelf and putting them in the basket of a shorter, older woman.
Buck watches on with a severe case of heart eyes as the woman pats Tommy’s arm and thanks him and continues on with her shopping. He walks over to Tommy and his empty cart. “So this is why you never win?”
Tommy flushes. “I mean, not every time—you are scarily efficient sometimes.” He eyes Buck’s empty basket and tsks. “You took your eye off the prize, Buckley, I might just win this time.”
Buck slowly shakes his head and laughs, never looking away from Tommy’s face. “Oh, my eyes are firmly on the prize.”
Tommy swallows.
Buck smirks. “How do you feel about getting takeout tonight instead?”
