So I say this as someone who enjoys a jealous Ilya and Shane but canon jealous ilya/shane are very different from fanon(and thats okay!)
Like in The Long Game when Ilya shoots the puck at the reporter for touching Shane's arm I think canon Ilya is more jealous of the fact that another man can touch Shane casually like that in public than the fact that another man is touching Shane. Jealousy is interwoven into their relationship due to not being able to publicly claim each other. Everytime someone gets to touch the other in public they are both reminded that the other could be in a million different "easier" relationships. Their jealousy is born of not feeling worthy of the other. They both love each other so much it makes them so stupid. So yeah they are jealous but its not just reckless possessiveness its rooted in one of the core issues of their relationship which is worthiness and shame.
