Swinging a bat at a hornets nest but what really annoys me about "transandrophobia" apart from the everything else is that the people championing that this form of oppression exists cannot even agree on what it means.
I have seen arguments that transandrophobia IS the intersection of transphobia and misandry ans thus misandry is a real thing that men experience and i have seen the argument that actually just because transandrophobia is real doesn't mean misandry in itself is.
The first argument falls flat immediately if you have any knowledge about (intersectional) feminism. the second argument falls flat because why, if you do not mean to imply that transandrophobia is a form of intersectional analysis, are you so heavily taking from intersectional language, in this case transmisogyny.
So yeah woe is me for not being able to take a form of oppression seriously that can't even decide what half of its name is supposed to mean.

transandrophobia is the intersection of transphobia and misogyny as it applies primarily to trans men, modulated by "androphobia", the counterpart of "femmephobia". where femmephobia is the hatred of femininity particularly when present in men and people sexed as male, androphobia is the hatred of masculinity when present in women and people sexed as female, both being subsets of queerphobia. all of these are present in our society due to patriarchy and its main force of oppression, misogyny. misogyny and homophobia both work to control the reproductive capacity of women and sexual minorities. transphobia, likewise. trans men suffer from unique harms due to their medical and legal sex, their history as girls and women, their gender deviance and transgression as seem by society, and their "traitorous" relationship to womanhood. a lot of these things overlap with cis women, trans women, and cis men, but the mix is particular to trans men and other queer masculine people who feel it applies to their situaiton. likewise, there is nothing about transmisogyny that doesn't also individually happen to cis men, trans men, and cis women, but the mix is particular to trans women and people who consider themselves queer feminine, and in both situations its about frequency and severity. ultimately we are all oppressed by patriarchy, and situations like race, or class, or ability, are going to further impact one's life experience. a poor black trans man and a poor black trans women are going to have more in common than a rich white trans man or woman, respectively, and be more subject to interpersonal and structural violence than their white, rich counterparts.

i could talk about how there are more than enough people who would argue that no, transandrophobia isn't the intersection of transphobia and misogyny but the intersection with misandry. i could talk about how that is just not what androphobia means at all. i could talk about the implication that the real victims of the hatred of femininity are men, because apparently women are never oppressed for their femininity. i could talk about the bioessentialist and frankly transphobic implication that trans men are "sexed female" and trans women are "sexed male". however i just do not think that i have the energy to have a serious discussion about any of these points with a person who argues any of these points. maybe learn what any of these words mean in actual political discourse before trying to partake in these discussions.
