Why do some writers on Tumblr think so highly of themselves? Why does the number of follows (I hate that word) you have make you such assholes?
So you have a large number of likes or re-blogs, or a bunch of asks it means nothing if you are a terrible person. I have seen so many mutual authors treating their Followers like shit and “oh my gosh I have too many asks so I am deleting them” (My asks are packed at the moment with a project I have but I answer at least one a day).
Why is it because you are an author you won’t look at another author who writes something better/worse/similar to what you write? I read and review what ever work I find and enjoy. What ever my Followers Readers and FRIENDS send me I read and tell them everything I like about it.
I am by no means anyone special my followers FRIENDS fluctuate daily I watched 1,115 go down to 1,114 and does that number matter to me? No. Am I a good writer hell no, would I trade my respect for my readers for talent? No.
I say it all the time, even if no one read my stories I would be hear writing everyday. I know how old one of you is but you are both acting like spoiled children.
I am trying everything to show my online FRIENDS that I care about them and I read what they write and I respect what they have to say. I listen and respond to almost everything. (Sometimes notifications don’t come through and I can miss one or two things).
Do you go around bragging about how many followers you have? Will you tell your grand children ‘Back in my day I had 1k, 10k, 100k followers’? Because if you do have fun with that it’s like high school once your gone labels and popularity don’t matter?
If the internet around the world died tomorrow, what would you be doing? would you still be trying to get famous? Because I would still be writing as I always do everyday. Because I LOVE to WRITE and no number of followers will change that.
To the two different authors, who have been so rude lately, I won’t name nor unfollow you. Because you have great work and I can respect a fellow artist. I can guarantee I have praised your work before and will be refraining from leaving anything more than a like or re-blog (you don’t deserve my kind words if you don’t respect others). Treat people how you want to be treated.
REBLOG this because I want them to see this. Or copy and paste it, I don’t care write your own message if you want. I am not doing this to gather a following I am doing this to raise awareness. Readers shouldn’t be treated like nobodies.
