Twitter, in Punishing a Controversial User, Stokes Freedom of Speech Debate
> Twitter’s rules are “opaque and inconsistently enforced, but to the extent they are set out, they misrepresent ridicule and criticism as abuse and harassment,” Mr. Yiannopoulos said. “They should be thrown out.” He believes he is being targeted because he is a conservative voice. Twitter has also suspended accounts of left-leaning media figures as well, such as New York Daily News columnist Shaun King. For now, Twitter’s action has amplified Mr. Yiannopoulos’s voice. Over the weekend, the hashtag #JeSuisMilo, an adaptation on the hashtag that formed in the wake of the terrorist attacks on Paris, started trending on Twitter. Mr. Yiannopoulos’s follower count has grown. He now has 142,000 followers. “It has prompted a huge and counterproductive backlash,” said Mr. Yiannopoulos in an email on Monday. “But long term it is going to cause me problems.”

> And fans of @Nero have taken to Twitter to show solidarity with the now blue-checkless writer by changing their handle/avatar to “Milo Yiannopoulos” and using the hashtag #JeSuisMilo

Feminist is upset that her boyfriend spends time playing fallout 4 instead of spending time with her, so she destroys the disc.
Twitter revokes the "verified" status of a popular user. It is met with much backlash: a viral hashtag and thousands of new users for the user, a British journalist at Breitbart News.
"He's been vocal in the contentious movement known as GamerGate, which claims to promote ethics in gaming journalism but has been condemned for its treatment of women." "but has been condemned for its treatment of women." oh CNN.... you didnt even try
