In contemporary Christianity, the cross is a symbol of the atonement and reminds Christians of God's love in sacrificing his own son for humanity. It represents Jesus' victory over sin and death, since it is believed that through his death and resurrection he conquered death itself.

So I’ve been on the Jesus!Dean train for a while now, but I saw this awesome post and it got me thinking: What if Dean and Castiel are both Jesus? After all, they both have a lot, but varying types of Jesus imagery attached to them. Castiel is a Son of God, a divine, celestial being, who went down from Heaven to Earth to live among humans. He healed a blind man. He went by the name Emmanuel and worked as a faith healer. God has resurrected him a million fuck all times.  Dean on the other, hand is a is a Son of Man. More to the point, he’s The Righteous Man who started the Apocalypse by breaking the first seal while in Hell. He was resurrected by Heaven because he’s The Michael Sword. The true vessel of Michael, the archangel who is destined to kick the Devil’s ass during Armageddon.   According to mainstream Christian dogma, Jesus is both fully human and fully divine. A divine nature and a human nature coexisting with each other. What if Dean and Castiel are representative of those two natures? The Humanity of Jesus (Dean) and The Divinity of Jesus (Castiel)? Two sides of the same coin.

Me: Can a ship be the Jesus-character?

Me: Like, can Cas and Dean together make the Jesus-character?

Mom: ...

Me: Not, like make make.  Not like destiel!lovechild Jesus.

Me: Or...

Me: You know, maybe lovechild!jesus?  I’m not judging.

Mom: I am.

hey sorry to ask but what your last set means? jesus!cas? is this like a theory? and what does each gif means? im sorry im just very curious

not really a theory, it’s just about pointing out the parallels between cas and jesus. he was also pierced in the side by a spear like cas was in the first one. the second is about jesus and his disciples/apostles. there’s the cross and light imagery, jesus being god’s favorite, loving humanity, pouring the wine for his disciples, mary carrying him like one of the stations of the cross etc
