strange combat aircraft - I think 79 Sqn had 4 Jet Provost Mk4s at Brawdy - they were used to train Forward Air Controllers - I flew with them a few times once going to the Chivenor Air Show and once on a formation sortie - in the days where flying was dangerous and so was sex

1974 ad for the Airfix model kit of the BAC Strikemaster (or BAC 167 Strikemaster). The BAC stood for British Aircraft Corporation and in RAF use it was known as the BAC Jet Provost where it was mainly used as a trainer and was never fitted with armaments.

The Red Pelicans aerobatic display team mentioned were a forerunner of the Red Arrows but flew alongside them at times until they were disbanded in 1973.

This aircraft was designed an made in England in the 1950s an 60s. Hundreds were made an sold to dozens of nations. As above its flying low, while below, its so low, its landed !

More Provost Progress:

Glued the fuselage halves together and added the wings. I noticed in a lot of photos of parked JPs, the flaps were extended a few degrees, so I cut them out to replicate this.
