I made a lot of palettes for "Skullgirls". It's crazy.
Some really old computer games are my main inspiration. I'm a fan, I can't help it.
So, there's a new portion of some crazy SG-crossovers happening in my mind.
Huge thanks to MarioToast, superasdke, Zidane, SuperLuigi911 and krazete for color maps and instruments.
Let's go!
"Jill of the Jungle" might be one of my favourite games in existence. I couldn't resist of creating a Jill palette for Parasoul. They have some similarities.
Also, ignoring "Vinyl Goddess from Mars", a sort-of-but-not-really sequel to "Jill of the Jungle" (it's complicated) would be a crime, so there's a Vinyl-coloured Parasoul too.
I had a strong desire to recreate Dangerous Dave in "Skullgirls", and then it sort of happened with Umbrella. Originally, I wanted to save this idea for some other character, but it turned out pretty fine for the younger Renoir (if ironic).
With Dave and Jill, I tried to leave some nods to their alternative palettes from different instalments.
Talking about different instalments, there's an attempt to recreate young Lara Croft from "Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation" and "Tomb Raider: Chronicles" for Annie of the Stars. With the sword loosely alluding to Lara's legendary backpack.
I'm also a fan of "Jetpack" by Adept Software, so I tried to recreate the main character's look for a resident jetpack-wielder, Stanley Whitefin. Couldn't decide how his head should be coloured, though.
There was an idea floating in "Skullgirls" fandom about making a Wolfenstein-based palette for Adam. I tried it, but it didn't turned out well. But I thought it really would suit Scythana.
Oh, and "Doom". My favourite one. I needed to make a Cacodemon palette for someone. Double was an obvious choice, but it did work in a completely different way than intended.
I do really like this Double-turned-Umbrella Doom-based palette. It was hard to find a certain pose for Hungern.
