Hey, everyone. It's Pride month, and we here on wrestling Tumblr have something we need to do. Take to Twitter. I know, I know, hear me out though. Kidd Bandit is considering quitting pro wrestling. They are currently booked through January, and considering what they will do from there. This comes from the hatred and transphobic behaviors they receive online, and a few other factors, but the awful people of the web are about to take one of our best and brightest up and comers away from us as a community. We have a duty to shine as much love light and support for that AMAZING TALENTED BEAUTIFUL HUMAN as possible their direction.
I have NEVER seen some of the things they can do out of anyone else. They have so much left to prove and develop, and I am BEGGING YOU ALL to please help me in trying to drown out the hate that is making them doubt what they love and their place in it.

oh anon i was gonna BUILD that city. it was originally going to be the ship i went with for PBR before i realized that jon didn’t fit into it as easily as i wanted because their narratives in that particular story went in different directions (and i’d rather respect a character’s entire arc than shoehorn a ship just because i like the basic idea of it, yfm?) but this is actually exactly what i alluded to in the last four chapters of TSP! so if you’re actually willing to read 147k words of jon and gerry recovery nonsense, you would be rewarded with some Them. <3. ramble time!
i also honestly have some new feelings on jon & gerry as a romantic pairing after having explored it in TSP? TSP wasn’t even initially meant to end in romance, tbh. i think it’s a dynamic that mostly only works in certain situations/like all relationships, it isn’t a one size fits all type of deal. it can be a bit parasocial and feels like they wouldn’t actually pick each other out without some Backstory there, which IS very reminiscent of canon in general? we wanna think they’d work out because they have similar a sense of humor and get along well in mag 111, but when i think about the long run, i imagine them as the type of people who could give it a shot but ultimately not work out because they’re just not vibing. and that’s okay! it happens! they’re REALLY great friend material, always.
(and this part is JUST personal to my HC but i think gerry has a Type™ and i do not really think jon fits into it. similarly, jon’s type strikes as Big Handsome [see: georgie, martin, tim] and gerry is. Slim Pretty. yknow? so, i struggle to imagine them as even being all that attracted to each other! and that IS a part of things. i have other thoughts but i’ll stop here.)
i’m a lot more convinced that both of them would each have a stronger dynamic with tim, which is also a valid take on polyamory in the sense that not all partners involved have to be partnered with each other. if you take it that way, it could potentially be stronger in general! a polyamorous dynamic isn’t just “this pairing but with someone tacked on” — it’s a totally different relationship altogether, and so could for sure end up different than just J&G as a pair.
so basically, i’m here for it! tim is kind of the connecting element there, though, for me. i’m honestly the same way with JM like. i love canon and what canon did with it, but in terms of fanwork, i honestly prefer jonmartim a lot of the time because it spices things up and gives you more room to build something different. stuff that’s already got most of its questions answered in canon or that everyone and their dog has explored just about every nook and cranny of in fan content doesn’t always interest me as much because it feels like there’s nothing left for me to build from the ground up. i like! puzzles! too much!
which is why i like rarepairs so much, and usually ones with tim in them. my absolute FAVORITE gerry/tim/someone ot3 will be revealed in PBR later 💪😤 because where else can i be self indulgent. make the content you want to see.
long story short, you are completely valid! i’ve spent ample time thinking about JGT and i support you fully. i wish there were more fic out there for you to read with them, the only one i’ve seen was a long time ago and i’m pretty iffy on some of the concepts used :-/
