what do you think of jane faking orgasm for michael? because a lot of people sees that as jane being so good and michael is the problem, like he isn’t good at bed and even on the show, michael is ashamed and he doesn’t wants her to tell her friends and when she does, her friends made fun of him. the problem wasn’t michael, it was jane. also jane once said michael was too “sensitive” and i don’t like it, like “i’ll pretend something to not hurt someone’s feelings because he is too sensitive”
You know, the thing is, one of my biggest issues with fandom culture in general is how realistic moments and realistic scenes between characters are seen as negative, it’s just incredibly immature. Jane’s first time with Michael is the most realistic portrayal of a woman losing her virginity to a man that I’ve seen on television.
I had a post about this:
[…] I sincerely appreciate that Jane’s first time isn’t this magical, earth-shattering experience despite it being with her husband, a man she clearly truly loves, because it’s realistic; this is perhaps the most realistic episode about the first time that I’ve seen on television particularly on teen dramas because the first time is awkward and you can have complicated feelings about losing your virginity even if it’s with someone you really love and it does take a while to know what you like and I was just very pleased with how well it was done.
So the fact that Jane faked an orgasm for Michael is realistic. She wanted the first time to be that epic, earth-shattering moment with her husband, there had been so much build-up to having sex for the first time that she faked it, she didn’t want it to be disappointing and Michael not wanting her to tell people that she faked an orgasm is a natural and realistic response, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t feel embarrassed about their partner faking an orgasm, I mean there is an entire scene in When Harry Met Sally about women faking orgasms and men not knowing the difference
and when she’s told that it’s her husband and she should be honest, she is and they work at it and then they have really great sex
Like, you know, life.
Me? Lovin that Pins and Patches? More likely than you think
