Okay, so I looked again at Jim Silver from the Ghostbusters IDW comics and I noticed something else apart from his Tie Pin...
That’s... a fucking wedding ring! He’s married; Or rather, he was...
You see, when Idulnas, the third minion of Gozer, possessed him; he’d completely taken over his body as was puppeting him around.
Whereas when he returned to possess Janosz Poha, he only had partial control over him.
Even throughout the comic, Idulnas gradually takes over Jim’s body until there is nothing left of him. Though neither the comic and wiki explicitly confirm this; I’m pretty certain Jim was killed. Even if the initial attack didn’t do it, his body would have been utterly obliterated in the climax.
When Idulnas threatened Janosz, he said he’d kill his sister and nephew in a gruesome fashion if he didn’t follow his demands and allow him to take over his body.
He will kill anyone he wants if it means he’ll get his own way.
Jim was attacked in his own home. It was on a morning as he was getting ready for work.
So chances are, his wife would have been there. If she was, Idulnas would have slaughtered her aswell. As a means to cover up his tracks and so the alarm couldn’t be raised while he took control of him. Since he only needed a day to do get what he needed done. I’m dreading to imagine if Jim had kids or not.
It seems the more I think about it, the more I realise just how fucking horrifying Idulnas is as a villain. Also, I’ve gotta give Janosz major kudos for being able to fight against him through his own sheer will.

“Walter’s a redhead and he wears it well. I dunno why people give them such a hard time? It’s gorgeous! Yes, I do mean ALL of it. He has the hair on his head combed so well in nice waves. All the more fun to mess it up! I love it seeing him out of breath with little strands hanging from his forehead.
Jimmy’s hair is a dark blonde. My natural hair is a dirty dishwater blonde, hence why I dyed it platinum. Darker blonde looks so much nicer on him than me. The rich colour and that curl at the front remind me of caramel.”
About Jim. What physical traits do you find most attractive about your partner?
“My hubby is a handsome guy. Oh man, does he know how to dress! American style suits are his thing - very different from British or Italian. ‘Makes him look big and strong too. ‘Often wears a nifty little silver Stay Puft Marshmallow Man tie pin.
But the things I love most about his appearance are the things he didn’t like when we first met. I love his body. He’s got a little ‘ bit of pudge on him - it’s amazing! He’s just so soft. So cuddly. So sexy. Mainly around the tummy and sides.
Get this, he told me he was worried I wouldn’t find it attractive when we got to make love for the first time. Can you believe it?! Clearly, I’m not as well educated as I wish I was; ‘cos I can’t find the right words to describe how wonderful it feels to hold this man and lie next to him. So warm, so soft…
My other favourite little thing about him is the beauty mark on the side of his mouth.
I’m kinda obsessed with it! I WISH I had a natural beauty mark! I’ll sometimes dab one on with my makeup using my eyeliner if I feel like it. I always like to give him a little kiss right there, too. Even if he’s out the door, I’ll grab him by the tie and pull him back if I don’t hit that sweet spot the first time.
