35 Years Ago...

Ghostbusters hits theatres; a movie designed to be another Aykroyd/Belushi match up. Unfortunately, John died before it could become an actuality.

That didn’t stop the team behind the Ghostbusters comic from bringing him into the universe.

Okay, so I looked again at Jim Silver from the Ghostbusters IDW comics and I noticed something else apart from his Tie Pin...

That’s... a fucking wedding ring! He’s married; Or rather, he was...

You see, when Idulnas, the third minion of Gozer, possessed him; he’d completely taken over his body as was puppeting him around.

Whereas when he returned to possess Janosz Poha, he only had partial control over him. 

Even throughout the comic, Idulnas gradually takes over Jim’s body until there is nothing left of him. Though neither the comic and wiki explicitly confirm this; I’m pretty certain Jim was killed. Even if the initial attack didn’t do it, his body would have been utterly obliterated in the climax.

When Idulnas threatened Janosz, he said he’d kill his sister and nephew in a gruesome fashion if he didn’t follow his demands and allow him to take over his body. 

He will kill anyone he wants if it means he’ll get his own way. 

Jim was attacked in his own home. It was on a morning as he was getting ready for work.

So chances are, his wife would have been there. If she was, Idulnas would have slaughtered her aswell. As a means to cover up his tracks and so the alarm couldn’t be raised while he took control of him. Since he only needed a day to do get what he needed done. I’m dreading to imagine if Jim had kids or not.

It seems the more I think about it, the more I realise just how fucking horrifying Idulnas is as a villain. Also, I’ve gotta give Janosz major kudos for being able to fight against him through his own sheer will.
