May I ask for an assistant AU fic, in which one of the Jim’s calls the reader Jim on accident and she starts crying before he can apologize and she’s like “I feel like a part of this family God bless”
Sure! I’m so sorry it took so long to get to this one. I wanted to come up with something fluffy and cute so I hope this is satisfactory! ^^
(*cough* @jim-protection-squad thought you may like this, too *cough* :3)
You were an “assistant” of sorts to the Jim brothers. In short, that made you their designated driver who was paid to take them anywhere they wanted to go in hopes of getting good news coverage.
Sure, your job may be a bit strenuous at times, but that didn’t mean that you didn’t like hanging around with the Jims. In fact they’re were more often than not the highlight of your day.
No matter how somber your mood, they always did their best to make you laugh and smile again, which you appreciated a lot.
Before long you began to think of them as like another family to you, considering how Mother Jim and their cousin Jim and Jim back at home always gave you a warm welcome whenever you visited them for the day. It was surprising that they haven’t accidentally called you “Jim” yet.…
……..
It was the night of Christmas Eve and you were driving the Jims back home. Field Reporter Jim sat in the van’s passenger seat, rambling on and on to you about how he was determined to catch the “big, red jacket man” on camera.
Least to say you’ve lost count as to how many times he said his own name in the past five minutes….not that it bothered you. But you were still wondering how he didn’t get frostbite yet considering he was only wearing a blue button up and khakis, while you were dressed in a scarf, gloves, and two layers of jackets…
Although you simply kept your focus on driving, as the snow and ice made the roads rather slippery and dangerous especially around this time. Thankfully there were no cars behind nor in front of you.
“-but I have to say, Jim, we’re gonna catch-”
You froze up, wondering if what Jim just said to you wasn’t your imagination. “W-What did you say..?”
“I-I…. um..n-nothing Ji-I mean [y/n],” the black haired male chuckled nervously. “Don’t worry just..”
However, he trailed off as you abruptly pulled over onto the curb. Jim was immensely confused and a bit worried when you put the van in park without saying a word. He wasn’t sure if him accidentally calling you “Jim” made you upset, although the tears that began to fill up your eyes made him believe that was the case.
The field reporter turned to you, panicking a little. He was the best at giving news coverage, but he was the absolute worst at giving comfort. “Hey..I-I..I didn’t mean to-”
But he stopped when you glanced at him with a….smile on your face?“N-No, it’s fine Jim,” you chuckled, wiping your eyes and sniffling. “Hearing that just…m-made me feel like I’m part of the family. You..You can call me “Jim” if you really want to. I don’t mind.“
At first, he stared at you in complete and utter shock, but then he mimicked your smile as tears began to run down his face.
Given how far away the seats were from each other, you both decided to get out of the vehicle so that you could properly hug each other.
Cameraman Jim eventually came out of the back to see what was going on, but after you told him what happened, he set down his camera and hugged you, too, crying just as much as his twin was out of pure happiness…
The happiness that came with having another addition to the family of Jims.
