Even though this man has the last name Hazel,he is not directly related to the famed P-Funk guitarist Eddie Hazel.. This native from the Bronx formed a lesser known but well regarded metal band in the 80s called 24-7 Spyz.

Despite being compared to other bands such as Living Colour and Brains, this group has proved to be excellent in their own right. They often mix in thrash metal with funk, R&B, punk, and soul.

I actually was planning on seeing this guy with 24-7 Spyz when they were comming into my hometown back in 2020. But then the pandemic hit...

Oh, well. I will definitely keep an eye for them when they come by again.

I love this song even though the Spyz listed it on their album as File Under Cheesy.

Yeah it’s poppy but it’s catchy and has a fat beat. I find myself humming it and quoting lyrics 28 years later. That’s a good song.
