I'll throw myself a pity party, double shots lemon Bacardi Pity Party - Jamie, 2022
I’m falling all the way down / Now the only way is up
Jae. Do fucking better.
My whole problem with the whole Jae thing, aside from the whole obvious reason why the thing he said was horrible, are the people using the excuse that they’ve been friends for so long to defend him. Even as friends you are very much capable of hurting the other person. Being friends with someone still means you can harass, hurt, and bully your friends. Your friends are still people with emotions and feelings and their own thoughts. Jamie expressed her hurt on Twitter and the fact that his defenders are ignoring that for the sake of “well they’re friends so it’s fine” is really stupid. He’s a 29 year old man. He’s a grown man. Stop treating him like a child. Also another thing people saying he doesn’t know what it means and should be educated… why? Again he’s 29, fluent in English, is from Cali ( thot is a pretty common word there and on the internet ) and a grown man. So what education is there to be had? What do you gain from defending and “educating” a man who is probably way older than you? I don’t see anything so stop. Jae messed up. Stop defending him.
May I also use this Jae situation to remind people that you do not actually know your idols personally and should not just worship them blindly as though they are perfect. They make mistakes too and deserve to be called out when they do. Yes, even BTS. That isn't the same thing as needless hate and of course mistakes aren't excuses to send horrible things like death threats. But accountability is important.
