Moriarty during the whole series:
funniest part of young sherlock was when a dude tried to flirt with him in The Folies Bergère and he immediately ran to Moriarty like JAMES. JAMES WE MUST STAY FOCUSED. JAMES
fuck you
Recreated a hannibal meme because I couldn't stop laughing thinking of this.
the convo between me and my bestie
love this evil little irish man
He's lowkey iconic asf like go serve cunt I guess
"Stayin' alive. It's so boring, isn't it? lt's just..staying."
Ik it's like, wishful thinking and all that but when we get Young Sherlock Season 2 they better kiss. Like come on. SPOILERS AHEAD cause I think the plot demands it I hope
Step One is obviously have Beatrice either die or go off the deep end faster than Moriarty can follow. She's out of the picture or on the other side, and we can focus on Sherlock and James. I like her but rn she's just leading Moriarty astray in both ways lol
Cause firstly, the chemistry and the tension is completely there, so like, duh. It has to happen. Logical reasoning after whatever that whole season was.
But heres the thing, it also has to happen to raise the stakes.
By the end of Season 1, Sherlock already knows that Moriarty's morals are too loose and that he's lying to him. He doesn't trust him. If that doesn't change, and they just stay in a fragile friendship until the inevitable betrayal from Moriarty, then it's not climactic! Sherlock will sigh knowingly, and he'll be sad, sure, but he'll have seen it coming.
But if feelings come into play - well that is every Sherlock Holmes' weakness. If they kiss, get together, even entertain the thought of homosexuality (which let's note, the show has already done, with Malik's boyfriend and Lestrade being completely fine with it despite the period), then things change. Sherlock's rationality slips. So does James's frankly, and they will both delude themselves into thinking that Moriarty has changed, and that that kill and the plan were just lapses in judgement. But then, then it falls apart and this way it's dramatic, this way it's a betrayal of the heart, the worst kind - and also perfectly sets them both up for how we see them portrayed in later years - colder, less trusting.
I hope it lasts a while though. Maybe a season with Beatrice around, we lose her for season 3, we get the romance then, and then at least a season 4 we get the betrayal. The actors are old enough to do timeskips, so then with Sherlock's heart broken, trust in friends destroyed, and presumably health ruined from the drugs, he can move to London and meet a doctor.
Oh and then some criminal will whisper the name Moriarty and it'll all come rushing back for the final showdown atop a waterfall ehehehe
Also same with Mycroft, unless this whole universe is a bit fix-it in making them all less sociopathic and cold, then he's got to get wrapped up in ambition and duty to the government.
