hey! :) i saw your post and this was too long for a reply, sorry :D i honestly don't think that mary was ever acquainted with or worked for moriarty. although she was an assassin, she was cia and even in her "rogue" time, she only killed the "bad people". so it makes no sense at all that she would work for moriarty given that he is THE bad guy. the whole 'mary is working for moriarty' was made up solely by the fandom. and not the part of the fandom that is particularly fond of mary either.

I’m not saying it is a completely possible theory, but honestly we don’t know much about Mary’s past as an assassin. Yes, we know some of the stuff she’s done, but lord knows what other work she’s been involved in. Keep in mind she DID shoot Sherlock, and he wasn’t a bad guy, she was doing it to protect herself, so isn’t there a possibility she could work for Moriarty? Her character is so unpredictable, I’ve learned to accept many different fates and possibilities for her, because in all honesty, we know close to shit all about who she is. I used to not be completely against Mary, but up until the past day or so I’ve discovered more bones to pick with her. I just think from her not so transparent background and her unpredictable behaviour, Mary being involved with Moriarty could be a highly possible scenario, along with the other hundreds of theories out there.
