“The reason why I can’t go another blind date is…,” He paused for dramatic effect, adding in a deep sigh at the end. He kept his head bowed down as he forced himself to tears. “...because I’m already seeing someone else.”
His mother’s reply was quick and sharp. “How long?”
“Three months. We’re getting pretty serious.”
“Does she come from a good family?”
“Who cares?” His grandmother had scoffed and then turned to her eldest grandson, giving both of his cheeks a little squeeze as she cooed at him. “This is the first time our Seokjinnie has mentioned a girl. Give them a chance.”
“Bring her over next week for brunch.”
“Fine.”
But things were not fine and it just so happened that Seokjin wasn’t the only one who was faced with a dreadful deadline.

“He keeps raising my rent but refuses to show his face.” You frowned, downing the rest of your drink and grimacing at the bitter taste.Resting your face on the hand that wasn’t holding your now empty glass, you let out a deep sigh. “This is what I get for jumping the gun too soon with marriage...and thinking that dating my landlord was a good idea...why didn’t you stop me?”
“I did.” Namjoon deadpanned, motioning for you to hold out your glass out to him so he could refill it with another shot of soju. “But you said you couldn’t resist his panty dropping smirk.”
“I did not say that!” You smacked your friend on the arm...even though you had in fact said that (under the heavy effects of alcohol, of course.)
“I don’t blame you.” A new voice joined and the both of you turned your heads. “My smirk is in fact panty dropping.”
You glared at Seokjin, finding his smirk anything but that at the moment. “Who invited the arrogant as--”
“I did.” Namjoon interrupted, rolling his eyes. “Seokjin, [Y/N]. [Y/N], Seokjin.”
Despite how many times Namjoon introduced you two, you never got along. Namjoon liked to believe it was due to jealousy over him since you and Seokjin would often throw shade at who knew him the best. Of course, you’d beg to differ. Who cared if Seokjin knew Namjoon the longest? You and Namjoon shared a passion for literature and spent all of your graduate years together. Seokjin couldn’t even name Namjoon’s favorite book…
“Annoying booknerd.”
“Arrogant asshole.”
Namjoon sighed deeply. This was going to be a long night...
**
“You think you have it bad?” Seokjin half-slurred, invading Namjoon’s personal space just so he could point directly at you with a frown. “My family won’t stop pressuring me into marrying!”
“Boo-hoo.” You scoffed in his face. “My family is completely disappointed with my choice of career.”
Namjoon pushed the both of you back to your spots before pouring himself another shot. The two of you had begun bickering awhile back and Namjoon thought it best to stay out of it and enjoy himself...as much as he could.
“I’m going to lose my house!” Seokjin exclaimed with a pout.
“I’m going to lose my bookstore!” You replied, mirroring his expression.
Is it too much to ask for friends who get along? Namjoon internally screamed, deciding to drown out your pity match with another shot.
“I have a week to find a bride.”
“I have a week to pay my rent.”
Namjoon waved his hand at the bartender, nodding his head when she lifted up another bottle of soju. She set it down with a sympathetic smile.
“Wait a minute.” Seokjin paused, his eyebrows knitting together.
Recognizing the look on Seokjin’s face and knowing that nothing good ever follows, Namjoon poured himself his--was it his fourth or fifth?--shot. He brought his glass to his lips.
“[Y/N], you’re a girl.”
“Well spotted.” You rolled your eyes.
“Marry me?”
Namjoon choked on his drink before he could properly down it all, somehow spilling it all over you both.
He puts little animals on his shoulders and he tells the same jokes to anyone new that he meets and he’s so incredibly humble and talented and his room is filled with toys and he just wants to make people happy and i love him
