Headcanon A:  realistic

I love the use of 'realistic'. Not 'canonically supported,' 'realistic.' It gives so much room for one to play.

This is great, because while it is not my One True Headcanon (my OTH, if you will), I have amassed an impressive edifice of red string in support of my 'Jing Yi is a trans woman (and [wiggle hands] does not know that yet or is fairly repressed.)' Is this what canon intended? Almost certainly not! But they did give me the entries on my cork board like 'knows more about women's fashion than the explanation "is a playboy" adequately explains', and 'does very female coded things as Bits' and 'solves a problem via crossdressing that had several other solutions' (There are also less canon entries on the corkboard, such as 'Leng Yue is a lesbian [see other corkboard]' and, wrapped several times in red string 'it's my headcanon and I can do what I want.')

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

The diving through windows instead of doors thing started off as just a one off bit, but then he just kept doing it? And now he is trapped in a Bit Hell of his own making, because he can't just stop doing it now.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

So, depending on what the ages of the various characters are (bearing in mind that we know they are marrying 'late', and that Xiao Jinyu and Chu Chu can be no older than 23), there is going to be in the next few years post canon (if not the same year), there is going to be, uh, a sudden and unexpected regime change. A regime that Xiao Jinyu will not do well in. And Jing Yi is close enough to him that he is very, very likely to get court in the cross fire.

This isn't even a headcanon. This is the implications of when The Imperial Coroner is set.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

...but [sticks fingers in ears] lalalalala, The Imperial Coroner is actually set in an alternate history, as we can see from the fact facial reconstruction exists, and also the Emperor is not a completely paranoid and unreasonable when we see him, so any regime change will be in awhile, and neither sudden nor adverse, and Jing Yi won't get caught in the crossfire with it.
