She hit it off with one of the Kyoshi Warriors back at Kyoshi Island and was almost asked out by her, but it was when Katara got worried about Aang and the Unagi so she cut the conversation short to check on him.

Again, she befriended Yue on deeper level off-screen, totally flirted with her, and was much smoother than Sokka; it just happened that Yue had a thing for awkward boy geniuses 🤷🏽‍♀️

She likes people with whom she can have meaningful conversations.

Once, Toph asked her what her type was. Katara answered she didn't expect her person to fit into any type.

Her boyfriend, Fire Lord Zuko, once took her with him as a moral support for making amends with a Ba Sing Se Lower Ring girl named Jin. Katara turned out to do most of the talking . Her and Jin got along smashingly and hanged out together for the rest of the day (with Zuko just following in tow), went shopping (Zuko carried their bags for them), had lunch, and Katara invited Jin to the future Team Avatar get-togethers. When they departed, Katara told Zuko now she understood why he had been so head over heels for Jin.

Following my Jinzutara fever from a few days ago, I'm thinking: Zuko and Katara are not very fond of pet names, but Jin is, they're part of her love language, so she starts calling Zuko and Katara "sunshine" and "moonbeam", respectively. It takes the two of them a while to get used to them, but they know the names are because she wants to call them something special, so that makes it easier to warm up to them.
