Avatarverse Carnaval!!!

What is it? A two-week (15 days) event for bringing the Carnaval to the Avatarverse. All types of content are allowed: fic, art, edits, moodboards, etc. Shipping or General, whatever you want, it's Carnaval!

When is it? The event will run from February 20th, 2022 to March 6th, 2022. 

Rules:

This is a NSFW-friendly event, but the content must be tagged as such, with aged-up characters to 18+ if needed. The submitters of this type of content must also be 18+. 

All ATLA and TLOK ships are allowed, excluding incest and pedophilia. Polyships are welcome too. Rare-pairs are appreciated.

No non-con, dub-con, or rape. 

Given that it is an all-inclusive event, there will be many ships and all participants must be respectful of all submissions. No ship wars, no anti-comments, no hate. 

For publishing in AO3, rate and tag your fics properly. For publishing on Tumblr, be sure the post is properly tagged as well and if you are submitting NSFW, put it under a cut and with a warning. If your work isn't properly tagged/rated, we will not reblog it. 

When you post your creations, tag this blog and use the tag #avatarversecarnaval so we can find and reblog it. If you don't see us reblog and your work follows all the rules, please let us know so we can reblog. 

Please don't be afraid to ask questions about the rules of prompts, ask box is open. 

We will be accepting late submissions till March 26th, so don't worry and take your time.

The event will consist in a list of prompts with two options: one thematic prompt for you to feature in your work and a song by Latine singers, you can feature the song, the singer, or make content inspired by the music video of each song. We will not be accepting prompt submissions for this event. 

You don't have to do all prompts or you can include various prompts in one work.

ships i like with this character:

Z U T A R A: my main ship for katara! their relationship development was so compelling and realistic (i.e. not just taking words at face value, but actually putting effort into actions to show the other person that you're remorseful.) i love how it is handled with such respect for katara's autonomy and her feelings. how not once is katara guilt-tripped or given excuses. how they were there for each other in their most critical moments and provided non-judgmental support. how they trust each other with their literal lives and were willing to die for each other. how katara trusts and believes in his goodness with such conviction, that she ultimately wins him the throne. i'm gonna cut it off here before i go into zk brainrot lol.

jintara: i like this ship because i think her and katara have a lot of similarities wrt their personalities. i also really like them as an ot3 with zuko (jinkotara) because they both canonically love tea, so why not throw in their tea-serving bf? also i see both of their loves languages as physical touch, so i can see them having fun teasing zuko, and doing gestures like jin did when she ruffled his hair.

maitara: i like the contrast of this ship. katara is openly warm and affectionate, whereas mai is a bit more reserved. in a post-war setting, i could see katara encouraging mai to be more assertive and expressive, kind of challenging the things she learned growing up. and i think mai would remind katara to take time to actually relax and have fun. i also like maikotara, but not in a fully romantic way. more like.... mai is katara's gf and zuko is katara's bf. and maiko are ... just friends that are here for the vibe, you know?

harutara: ok their sunset convo was kinda romantic ... or was it just me? i love how katara even tho he doesn't know her, is able to inspire him to push back against the "no earth bending" rule (even if it backfired because of that snitching old man.) katara is really humble and she doesn't really take credit for all that she does. i love haru's line "it wasn't the coal, it was you, katara." i thought it was cute when he asked katara to come back with them. and then, the next time haru sees the gaang, he again talks about how katara inspired him. i love a good ship where the boy is in complete awe of the girl.

jiangtara: gay people.

yuetara: the moon/ocean imagery just does it for me. i love the spiciness and potential drama of katara realizing that she likes girls when she falls for her brother's girlfriend. and the angst of her feeling that lost love once yue becomes the moon, having never told her how she felt (for obvious reasons.)

azutara: honestly, two pretty girlfriends. dassit.

Lmao hello! I LOVE jinkotara! Look before I shipped Zutara I was ROOTING for Lee Zuko and Jin! They were so wholesome and adorable! However I can’t deny the soulmate-ism of Zutara 🤣💜

Jet and Jin have a problem. Their mutual crushes, Zuko and Katara, are completely oblivious-- both to Jet and Jin's feelings and to their own, very obvious, crushes on each other.

Jet and Jin have a plan. Convince Zuko and Katara to go out with them for an amazing day of fun and romance. Confess their feelings and try to get Zuko and Katara to confess theirs. Communicate and, hopefully, work out the details of a new relationship.

...Jet and Jin have another problem. Instead of sweeping Zuko and Katara off their feet, they're starting to fall for each other.

Can they balance attempting to start a new relationship with navigating their new feelings? Or will they end up breaking hearts and trust?
