Hi! I am going to college next year and im really excited. However, im also rlly nervous bc i dont deal well with Change and New Situations as an autistic person. I know most events are optional and there can even be things like “the event but it’s not sensory hell” but that’s just events. Can some followers give me advice on adapting to college as an autistic person?

Yo I’ll do you one better—hi, I’m your third mod, and I’m autistic!College is a lot of change, but that can also be very empowering. College was the first time I had to set my own schedule, but it was also the first time I was able to set my own schedule without someone in my family telling me it was dinnertime or that we were going to go visit my grandparents.For me, scheduling was key. Here are some ideas for how to develop a schedule and a routine:1. Before classes start, put your class schedule in your google calendar or whatever and then walk the route! Figure out where all of the buildings are while there’s no time pressure. Make a mental note of any restrooms, water fountains, and places to get a bite to eat.2. Come up with a housecleaning schedule. What day are you going to do laundry? What day are you going to clean your room? What are some other tasks you might forget to do? Set phone alerts if that helps!3. If you, like me, are an autistic person who sucks at eating, schedule your eating. I knew exactly what and when I was going to eat every day. It changed over time, but to this day I remember at least one eating schedule that I had. I ate at 10am, noon, 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm—at least a snack at each of those times. No one is going to make you eat in college, so you really have to have a plan. Phone alarms are helpful here, too.4. You have access to a free gym, so pick at least one day a week to exercise! It’s great for relieving anxiety, and there are loads of free classes you can take. I got really into yoga in college and it made my life so much better.5. I didn’t need to schedule time for studying because I am a huge nerd, but if you’re not me or Hermione Granger you might want to consider blocking out some time for studying.6. Your mileage may vary, but I’d consider trying to get a single dormroom if that’s an option. At my therapist’s urging, I got a letter from my therapist saying that the single room would really help me, and she was right! Blacktip reef sharks are so cute!!! I was debating making him either a whale shark or a mako but I wanted him to be a little bit fierce so no whale shark but makos are a bit Too Fierce so reef shark seemed like a safe bet!!As for family dynamics I p much went with what Wikipedia said abt actual blacktip reef sharks?? Pups p much fend for themselves after the initial Birthing but they can sometimes chill out in groups so taem hangs out w his brother a lot. Who is Kai.
