The Indie Guide to Indie Publishing is a start-to-finish guide designed to help independent authors navigate the world of self-publishing. Each of the nine authors involved has their own areas of specialized expertise in independent publishing that they want to share with writers and artists with all different levels of publishing experience.
The authors involved in this project have done years of research and production, often times patching together their knowledge from scattered sources and learning from epic mistakes. We've already combed through the books and websites, filtered out the snake oil salesmen, and done the trial and error ourselves. Our experiences can streamline the process for you and serve as a guide along the way.

I, personally, will be writing an article for this book about all the ways you can achieve ultimate book cover... ness.
In my opinion, the cover is the most important piece of marketing material you can have. It’s the first thing you see, and it determines if you’re going to even bother to read the description or click a link. If it’s good, people will remember it if they stumble upon it again. If it’s good you will feel confident posting it every-freaking-where and knowing that it will generate interest. It is a symbol or your book’s genre, tone, and quality.
Some Ways to Achieve Cover-ness (that will be included in the article):
Sussing out whether your 14 year old cousin is talented enough to make you a cover. (hint: they're probably not)
Making a cover yourself (design basics, where put font?, how big font!? what kind of font?!? WHAT THE HECK IS KERNING??!?!?!? huge list of do's and don'ts. please no more flowers on dark backgrounds.)
Hiring a designer (where to find magic design person?! how much pay art person?! u sure they're not going to run off with my money?!)
