:V YOU ASKED ABOUT OCS THAT ONLY YOU AND MERYL KNOW ABOUT
EXCELLENT!!!!!
(for any of y’all wondering, jules and sofia are from a novel i’ve roooooughly sketched out, so anything below the cut is subject to change)
1. Holiday headcanon
"I prefer Christmas in LA,” Sofia whispers, brushing some of the hair from Ellie’s forehead as Jules bends to gather her up from the sofa in the second floor play area. She made it to 10PM, which is impressive for a six year old. “But this is kind of nice.”
Jules just nods, focusing on carrying Ellie to the guest bedroom. The sound from the TV in the living room drifts up the stairs and even from here, Jules can tell they haven’t missed anything important. They tuck Ellie in next to her cousin who took himself to bed at 9 and quietly creep back to the top of the stairs.
“I don’t mind Christmas here,” Jules says, standing by the bannister and watching as Sofia busies herself with putting away some of the mess the kids created. “It’s weird, but in the way that Swedish things are weird. So, you know. I like it.”
“It’s hectic,” Sofia sighs, giving up when she lifts a blanket and uncovers a mess of Legos and Playmobil pieces. She walks over to Jules and leans into her with a sigh. “I don’t know. Ellie loves being with her cousins for the holiday and Magnus’s parents are so happy Ellie’s coming over on Christmas day. But I just--”
“Like the warmth?”
“And your parents,” Sofia says, bottom lip sticking out in a pout.
“Mm,” Jules leans up, kissing her softly until she feels the pout melt away. “But they don’t have glöggfests in LA. Or, national bingo night.”
“Fair enough,” Sofia laughs, skating her fingertips underneath the hem of Jules’s sweater. “And you look very cute in Christmas jumpers. You can’t wear those in LA.”
“Very true,” Jules grins, shivering when Sofia’s fingers sneak up a little further, cool against the warm skin of her sides. “But I agree.”
“About?” Sofia hums, not really sounding like she’s paying attention.
“Preferring LA,” Jules says, grinning. “You in a bikini on the beach is way better than any white Christmas could ever be.” Jules laughs and Sofia rolls her eyes. “What? I can’t help it that I’m gay for my fiancée.”
“You’re terrible,” Sofia grumbles, but can’t help smiling as she leans down for another kiss.
14. Dancing headcanon
“I don’t dance,” Sofia shakes her head, waving Jules off to bounce out onto the dance floor with her friends. She doesn’t, and plus she’s had two very strong drinks and doesn’t want to risk standing until she’s had a glass of water to even things out. She watches from their table as Jules dazzles brighter than any light and feels warm, fuzzy affection flood her body.
“I don’t dance,” Sofia slips out of Jules’s grasp and waves her iPhone in the air between them. “But, take Ellie to the front and I’ll record you two. For Facebook.” Jules shrugs, takes Ellie’s little hand instead, and rushes up to the front where other parents are dancing to the music with their kids while Sofia records from the sidelines, smiling and laughing the whole time.
“I don’t dance,” Sofia whispers, panicked, her hands sweating as all of the guests move away from the dance floor and turn to watch her and Jules.“I know,” Jules says softly, holding Sofia’s hands tightly. “But I do, and I’ve got you.” She gives her fingers a reassuring squeeze.Sofia swallows down the lump of dread in her throat and, after a moment, when the music picks up and the soft, sweeping intro to their song picks up, she nods her head and lets her wife lead her out onto the dance floor.
