HEadcanon: Summer Smith/Ace Mcshane

Rick&MORTY/seventh doctor era

So this basically how Summer and Ace met and shit. Rick, Morty and Summer portal to a dystopian post- apocalyptic type world to get the crop milk from an alien bird called Schlimi. The bird is about the size of an SUV, razor sharp beak and claws, iridescent black in color and aggressive. Also rare, the Schlimi mostly eat small fuzzy tree dwellers called Flooms. Anyhow, because of the colonization of the world, urbanization then world wars,m there aren’t many Flooms or Schlimis around. Rick however is NOT here to try and catch a schlimi or a Floom. But bargain with a local warlord, who has the Schlimi’s crop milk. Rick and the warlord go waaaay back and Rick brought some shit to trade with him. Anyhow so the crew are surrounded by a gang of children with guns and spears, Summer and Morty LAUGH. Kids right? None look older then 13. Then Rick explains Schlimi crop milk is so valuable because it halts the aging process in many races by the rapid regeneration of healthy cells, so long term users are whatever age they started drinking the schlimi crop milk. Also it means they also almost unkillable, add to that the positive side effects of super strength and speed. Negative side effects a very sharp decrease in empathy. So Schlimi crop milk will get Rick lots of currency. Rick is cool as the armed guard take them to their leader. Why is it all kids? Cuz their parents hid them in blast shelters, while the adults and teens fought in the WAR. also I should say ‘children’ by now cuz they are only children physically. Then they get to the Warlord’s trash palace and Rick notices TWO things: there is different ‘boy-king’ and the warlord who he originally bargained with well his head is on a stick (de-headings kills these freaks). And the new Boy king KNOWS RICK was cool with his predecessor. Rick tries to escape, oh he tries! But he’s been pick-pocketed of his portal gun and weapons. A struggle ensues. and dippity-doppit-do, Rick and co are chucked in a prison cell with guess who? SEVEN AND ACE. After a bit of bickering they decide to work together, Summer and Ace start talking and flirting. Also Rick destroys the spoons Seven had. Blah-blah blah they escape and shit happens. yaddayaddayadda stuff happens I dunno what. I know it’s disturbing though and Rick incinerates some evil kids. the Schlimi the eternally young have captive is FREED by ACE & SUMMER (Who have fallen in love!) The Doctr basically orchestrated the whole thing though and without the Schlimi crop milk, the ‘children’ rapidly age and die PAINFULLY before their eyes. MORTY IS TRAUMATIZED Rick calls Seven a cold mother fucker. Ace glares at the doctor and tells him he’s used her for the last time. She takes Summer’s hand and they leave via Rick’s portal. THE END?

Survival [Part 1] (with Spoilers)

I started rewatching Survival! ITS STILL FUCKIN GREAT.

What happens is the Doctor has brought Ace back to Perivale to check if she can ever go home again I mean because she wants to see her friends from school, only many of them have Mysteriously Vanished also there are stray cats and unlikely horses. So being as he is Seven at the time the Doctor decides this must Mean Something and starts investigating as Ace drags him around town on her quest for young people. Somehow he knows pretty much exactly what's going on, which doesn't really make sense but I'll allow it because it's about a) Thatcherism and b) Gay Subtexts. SO ANYWAY at the cliffhanger we find out that the Master is sitting in a tent on the cat planet, the Doctor having gone there on purpose to rescue Ace from her new furry girlfriend.

This is not remotely subtle about being about Thactherism and Social Darwinism and Socialism and etc. I like that, I am fond of this era's Barely-Disguised Left-Wing Agenda. Hooray!

What you need to understand is that Seven is the midlife crisis Doctor. He’s the Doctor suddenly very aware of his own mortality and the fact that without him around terrible things will happen. So he makes it his responsibilty to clean up the neighbourhood before he goes and to train up a replacement who can do the same job. There’s a certain element of utilitarianism to the way he encourages/teaches/manipulates Ace, because he’s trying to recreate the only thing he knows that can save planets and topple corrupt regimes in a single night. The ego, of course, but he’s also not wrong.

Seven tries to wipe out the Daleks and the Cybermen because someone has to, especially if the thing mostly capable of stopping them isn’t going to be around forever. It also explains his melancholy moments, because he’s accepting that he won’t be able to enjoy the universe when he’s dead. He feels old, he is old, he’s not giving second chances any more.

And you know he makes a smashing cup of tea as well.

I'm about to start watching The Awakening and I have to say it's weird to be going into a Doctor Who story with almost no preconceptions (I only have the DVD because it came in a box set with The Gunfighters), this should be a nice experience.
