life update: still working at the call center. it's still not so bad, though we aren't allowed to color anymore. 😭 no writing materials because we are dealing with people's private information. no worry about that from the remote employees apparently, which i still am not...yet. i'm meeting/exceeding all the necessary standards to be qualified, they just aren't moving anyone to remote for another month or some bs. so i'll stick it out in the meantime, partly because i literally cannot afford to be unemployed again and partly cuz i have a few work buddies i really enjoy lol. and i can still apparently embroider/cross stitch...guess they don't think about how you can also write things with thread 🤷 i'm just sticking with plants and animals for now though cuz I don't want to make them realize and take that away too T_T but my work bestie is already looking for positions that are fully remote from the get go, and i am going to try to put more energy into that myself. i've applied a few places, but my energy has been mostly sucked up by getting us moved.
which is honestly the more major life update of the 2 - me kiddos and i moved out of the townhouse we'd been in for almost 6 years and into an apartment right down the street from both their school and my work. it's a little more expensive, smaller, and utilities aren't included like they were with my parents, but the location is about as good as i could ask for when i have no car and still have to go work in person. and kiddo 1 is planning on getting a job and chipping in for their part of the phone bill once they're back from their summer trip to my parents' new house halfway across the country 😵💫 i haven't even seen the place yet and i couldn't join because work, but i miss them already and am looking forward to when they get back. i want to both unpack as much as i can to surprise them when they get back, and also just unpack the things i need and make them do the rest when they get back lmao. probably will be somewhere in between 🤷
eta: oh also no one had stole my sharpies, i just misplaced them. as far as i'm aware, none of my stuff has been stolen while i've been there, but someone else got their phone taken from their locker recently, and multiple people have had lunches or other food taken from the fridge. one person brought in homemade pickles and the whole jar got stolen 😭 that was over a month ago and people still be talking about 'the pickler' in the work chat 💀
