Tea Party Newsletter: GOP warns John Kerry 'Watch your back'
Republicans are eyeing the Bay State’s senior senator as a potentially vulnerable 2014 candidate in the wake of a Herald report that U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry has ponied up $85,000 to rent a 2,000-seat concert hall for a gala fund-raiser next month.
P1: Fund raising!? He must be vulnerable!
P2: But don't all Senators and Congressmen have to dedicate time and resources to fund raise for their re-election campaigns, not just "vulnerable" candidates?
P1: Yes, that's true. Both vulnerable and unopposed re-election candidates must fund raise.
P2: So what facts does the Tea Party Newsletter cite as reasons to think John Kerry is vulnerable?
P1: They cite Kerry's fundraiser next month and a quote from a Republican National Committee spokesman claiming the fundraiser means Kerry's 2014 re-election bid is weighing "heavy on the senator’s mind" ... without explanation, challenge or substantiation. The reporting on this issue can more readily be called transcription than anything else. When it comes to political reporting, don't expect rigor or reasonable conclusions to be drawn at the Tea Party Newsletter or by "reporter" Richard Weir or the editor Joe Sciacca, Editor-in-Chief.
