Reason is in the joemax muzzle fic, but since I’ve definitely already posted this excerpt, we’re adding a few more lines to the wip—

“You’re far more tolerable like this, you know.”

All Maxwell could reply with was a huff. He bowed his head and bumped his cheek against Joe’s hand, hoping Joe would take the hint without making him beg outright. It seemed Joe was opting for mercy— he brought his big palm to cup Max’s jaw and stroked his thumb over the stubble there.

“Good boy, Maxy. You gonna keep behavin’ for me? You know that good boys get treats.”
