I needed this song today. I don't know why, I just needed the words. It's a beautiful song, one of my favorites, I just haven't listened to it in months. When I can, I will always listen to this live version performed by John Brink. This is a song about grieving, forgiveness, and transformation. He puts so much emotion into it, you can feel the struggle of pain and hope for redemption. This song just reaches into my soul.... and you can see at the end, it affected him, too.
This wasn't acting, this was real. He has never broke performing this song before. He was meant to sing "part of my soul" one more time, but he broke down crying. I think something was different about this performance.... in that time in his life, he may have been going through something and this just resonated deeply with him. Whatever it was.... he *knows* what this song means.
