A sketch for an archivist linocut. I’ve been doing nice, dignified, prestigious realism this entire year in my art class. I think that I get an archivist. As a treat.

WOW OKAY IT’S FINALLY DONE. This took me about three days altogether, and it’s probably the longest I’ve ever spent on a single piece of art. But when I read this scene, I just HAD to draw it. It left such a distinct image in my mind, the whole thing was just really powerful. Anyways, uh, huge Bands of Mourning spoilers if you weren’t already aware... oops. 

And so, oh yea, I make art! Hopefully I’ll be posting more here in the future, but a lot of times it’s hard for me to post my art on Tumblr? I will try though! new blog, new start. That said, I’m a really new blog here, so perhaps check me out?

I love to think about the archivist. About how everyone probably hates it except for our monster lover Martin, but even he just was waiting for the archivist to become John again when they appeared at the beginning. I like to think that their skin is very cold.

There’s this one photo I (my lab mate) took in the lab where I’m in a lab coat and nitrile gloves and making the most awkward peace signs at the camera. It looks like I’m being held hostage. So I decided to draw it as my favorite scientist who’s actually being held hostage.
