A “Downton Abbey” primetime special is set to air on NBC to celebrate the third and final film in the “Downton” franchise before its theatrical release.
Variety has learned exclusively that NBC will air “Downton Abbey Celebrates The Grand Finale” on Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and streaming the next day on Peacock. The one-hour special will feature conversations with the cast of the film as they reunite in London at the Savoy Hotel to share memories and never-before-heard stories from their time with the show and the films.
Those set to appear on the special are: Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Raquel Cassidy, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Michael Fox, Joanne Froggatt, Paul Giamatti, Harry Hadden-Paton, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Lesley Nicol and Penelope Wilton as well as production designer Donal Woods, costume designer Anna Mary Scott Robbins, and composer John Lunn.
In addition, the special will also feature a world exclusive sneak preview scene from “Downtown Abbey [sic]: The Grand Finale,” which is due to hit theaters on Sept. 12. Beginning Sept. 1, audiences can also catch up on all six seasons of “Downton Abbey” as well as the first two films on Peacock.
The Downton Abbey soundtracks are great and playing the suite on piano gives me euphoric pleasure. BUT what I’ve always wanted to play is Thomas’ theme, which is nowhere to be found in any of the existing scores out there.
Ugh.
Yes, you can still play it yourself but it’s like eight bars on repeat lmao. Definitely should come up with some variations to extend it and add in some strings for enrichment (when time allows).
Just wanna rant about how they mistreated Thomas even music-wise.
I hope they’ll further polish it in the new movie soundtrack and name it “The Gayest Victory” with the pun. That will make me a happy man.

truly in love with The Last Kingdom soundtrack. Too bad there is only one "official" album out.
Have to search through the depths of youtube to listen to the "unofficial" songs from the later seasons. Season five probably had the best score out of the series BUT John Lunn and Eivør truly create magic when working together.
