I am a massive fan of Pen15, so this may be only slightly biased.
Maya Erskine is in fact a genius. Whenever she talks about her parents in any piece of media, I get misty-eyed.
This is a perfect romcom, but it isn’t perfectly formulaic like other romcoms. It is hurtful, yearning, aching, hot, sweet, with characters you can’t help but adore.
Oh my god, I LOVE when they put weird girls in rom coms. For fuck’s sake, weird girl representation in the romcom genre is few and far between. She makes the conversation far more real. And more heartbreaking at times?
