Johnlock with John as royalty AU idea

Okay so I was listening to Daylight by David Kushner, the main line I hear is "I love it and I hate it at the same time, you and I drink the poison from the same vine" (I think it's actually not a melancholy romance song like I thought it was after looking at lyrics but I'm not gonna let that stop my idea) and I got a kinda angsty idea for a Johnlock story where John is the prince of a fairly small country. Sherlock is a chemist/herbalist and John's dad hires him to make John sick in hopes of attracting more powerful nation's princes for John's sister.

Sherlock has been living at the castle and lightly poisoning John for a few months now, testing doses on himself too just to make sure he's not overdoing it. During the time he has lived there he has seen how amazing John is, how much he cares about the people and justice. He starts to think of the poison drinking as something that connects them and maybe even romantic. Sherlock has very little to no experience with romantic feelings so is very unsure what is happening to him.

Right before a party is supposed to arrive for potential marriage talks with Harry, Sherlock is asked to increase the dosage of the poison. He finds himself awake that night and realizes he can't keep hurting John. He creeps out and as he's trying to leave he runs right into John who was having a night stroll.

Sherlock breaks down and confesses how he's been poisoning him, that they've been sharing poison and that John's father hired him.

John shushs him and simply says "I know. I've known since he sent away for you."

Sherlock for once is completely flabbergasted. Asks why he hasn't killed him or told anyone about the King wanting him sick and weak to lure in powerful suitors who are thinking about taking over the kingdom easily just by marrying in.

John says he knows his father is scared that if they do not find a powerful ally country soon that they will end up at war and that he worries about Harry's safety. And tells Sherlock he trusts him and to just keep poisoning him.

Of course they start meeting up and talking more, maybe even drinking the poison doses together. They fall in love, Harry finds a powerful warrior princess who sweeps in and saves her and John and Sherlock run off together to help people in need of detection services and maybe even medication.
