Husbands (1970) Dir: John Cassavetes DOP: Victor J. Kemper * * * There is something about Cassavetes, perhaps it could be his contagious laughter or even his evenly distributed charisma. Whatever it may be, Husbands (1970) could possibly be a product that one would mistake it as an impressionistic self-indulgent documentary or even something out of the oeurvre of Terrence mallick, if it was to be a comedy. Howbeit, John Cassavetes' close-up is truly important to be subjected under an intellectualized scrutiny. It is a sincere meditation on the facial features of the actors, viz. a slight twitch in the eyebrow and the occasional equivocal facial expressions constitutes to an outcome that bade adieu to plot structuring and inviting characters into an experiential excursion by the death of the fourth member. The end was more of a melancholic punctuation which remarkably contrast itself with its joyous yet guilt-ridden ride. * * * #johncasavettes #indie #cinemavérité #spontaneity #indiefilmshoot #indiefilmshoot #husbands #1970fashion #cinematic #cinema #filmlovercommunity #films #film #movies #movienight #moviebuff #filmbuff #cine #cinephile #moviecritic #directors #director #filmisnotdead (at United States) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsLE5Z2gHZQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ej1nulvy57up
