I like to think they enjoy some Tchaikovsky or Howard Shore
All about dancing and music. Set in the same universe as this one here. and then this one here too
Just imagining because Sherlock plays violin, that Mycroft plays piano or cello. And in doing so they sometimes like Playing duets together.
Now, imagining the four of them are at Mycroft and Greg's (let's keep it so Greg moves in with Mycroft, and John and Sherlock keep 221B). Sitting around after a luncheon together or even an early supper. Lounging and enjoying each other's company, comfortable to be comfortable around each other. (S3 and S4 not having happened at all-- or happened differently cause fuck you.) Mycroft has his feet in John's lap while John lightly massages and rubs them through soft cotton socks. Sherlock and Greg having commandeered the two armchairs.
But also imagining, Sherlock playing a looping piece where it could go on for a long time if he so chooses to keep it in the loop of how it was written. And Mycroft also knows the piece so if he was so inclined he could join in or carry on from where Sherlock ends.
NOW: With Sherlock playing the piece at Mycroft's home outside of London, and it has the soft effect of pulling Mycroft and Greg out of their seats, setting down wine and beer on coasters, and stepping close to each other to join hands and bodies to enjoy a little quick step. Teasing and flirting with each other. Making the other flush with pleasure and delight.
And soon it begins a bit of a trade off when Mycroft bows out after a few goes around the 'parlor', gesturing to John for the man to take his place with Greg. And John being the sweet softie he is apologizes because he still has two left feet even though Sherlock taught him how to dance.
It's here Greg concedes to being the following steps, letting John take on the only role he barely knows. But it's when they hear the piano joining Sherlock do they realize what's happening. Their date day/night, has turned into something so romantic and lighthearted. Greg even gets a little surprise when John can and does dip him a bit. Warm laughter filling the living space.
Sherlock looks to Mycroft and nods to him to go for another spin, this time with John as Greg needs to sit down for a moment and watch how their partners dance. And even though he's much taller than John they still manage to look decent. Cracking smiles and teasing at the expense of John's fumbling and occasionally having to look at his feet.
Soon enough Mycroft steps back again and goes for his wine, before settling at the Piano again, picking up the song so Sherlock can have a twirl with the pair. With John it's much the same, clumsy sort of but sweet, even with a stepped on toe. Little snorts and giggles. And then it's a toss up with Greg.
"Lead or follow, Sunshine?"
and it has Sherlock putting up his hands in the leading position, having Greg step into it easily, and slip into the count of the music, a bit more dramatic like what Mycroft and Greg were doing. Sherlock loved showing off to them, even though they're all together. Little flairs of fancy.
It's not too long that they dance together before Greg feigns the need to sit or be dizzy. But once he's down onto the sofa next to John he starts humming in time, having picked up the general melody of the song. Having played guitar when he was younger he knew what the timing was.
Mycroft stopped playing and looking to Sherlock's outstretched hand he takes it, looking to the two who are now keeping time for them. Mycroft leads this one, gentle turns but stiff and proper form as if it were a ballroom waltz.
Soon enough the look of the two dancing takes Greg and John's breath away and the song leaves quietly, the Holmes boys slowing down too and smiling at the other two. Dancing and sharing their musical prowess with each other is definitely a good date day/night
You have a police force of sorts, even a marginally Secret Service. Why come to me? People do come to you for help, don’t they, Mr Holmes? Not, to date, anyone with a Navy.
sometimes i still think abt that café au btw..... like, mycroft doesn’t frequent cafés it’s true,, but he Might come in justtt a little bit more frequently if the short cute barista keeps looking at him like THAT..... also when john memorizes his coffee/tea order, mycroft gets scared a bit like oh no he really does come in too often and the man already knows his order and he surely knows what kind of a chokehold he has over mycroft oh no the short cute man can’t know mycroft’s whipped for him... so he switches up it a bit and from then on he says something else every. single. time. and of course john catches on and eventually starts having fun with it.. like he makes a game out of it: every time mycroft shows up, john is like, wait lemme guess... and mycroft always says the most outlandish orders just because, and uuudhbfjdnfn yeah thats all i can think of before insanity comes over me <3
John being one of Mycrofts friends. He doesn’t really have friends but when they first met, John seemed to take a liking to the posh know it all gentlemen. Anyways, flash forward Sherlock meets John one day and just stares at the shorter man. He deduces everything and can’t really believe that Mycroft actually has a friend and what the first words to come out of Johns mouth? “Amazing.” And after that, He tries to see John again and Mycroft knows that. He of course asks John if he’d like to see Sherlock again. John is honest and tells him sure. He tells Mycroft “he reminds me of you but a younger and more openly rude version.” After that, John and Sherlock develop a friendship as well. Mycroft really likes John and thinks it’s actually nice that Sherlock has a friend who can look after him. Mycroft might never say it(he does eventually) but John is important to him. It gets a little more serious when John gets injured on a case. Sherlock and Mycroft have a huge argument about John. Basically it’s just John having an epic friendship with Sherlock while having a really nice/comfortable friendship with Mycroft. Maybe the Holmes brothers realize they may feel more for the Doctor and really… that doesn’t go well.
Okay, so I'm very, very desperate, please hear me out:
I'm absolutely lost in BBC Sherlock Johncroft again. I made the mistake to run into my WIP folder a few weeks back, decided to "just" do a rewrite of my finished slow burn.
Read some fanfic and immediately had three more bunnies.
Ended up on the kink meme on dreamwidth. Spent the night flashing out some serious woobie-whumps.
So, if you're legit old enough to read steamy stuff and
the phrase "They spy on people for money" means to you that an Army Doctor fell in love,
their wedding dance will take place to that 'emotional damage' clip, but there will be a wedding dance and there will be no (ok, little) drama or demonising of possible previous spouses,
you don't have a problem with bad and dark things happening to good people, better even encourage it to incite comfort, sometimes
and can deal with sometimes way too accurate medical descriptions of injuries and such
and embrace general LGBTQIA+ themes, not just cis-gay pwp,
and you would like to receive gratuitous fic-clips to help me nitpick the parts where my brain won't go on...
maybe... talk to me? IDK, my brain's currently running itself into the ground Granada!Holmes style...
