Donald Trump's politically motivated prosecution of a Hillary Clinton lawyer Michael Sussman just failed because the jury saw it for what it was, an unethical attempt to silence Trump's critics. John Durham, Trump's hand-picked investigator, behaved in an unethical manner on Trump's behalf and Trump has been lying about the investigation from the beginning. There was no wrongdoing by Sussman or Clinton, just ginned-up and largely false accusations by Trump. Those waiting for the bomb to drop on Clinton will be disappointed AGAIN that Trump can't be trusted to tell the truth. Trump supporters have complained, rightfully, that Trump promised to arrest and convict Hillary Clinton during the 2016 debates and he has failed to keep not only that promise but the promise to build a wall. Trump wanted to pretend that he had no connections to #Russia and forced prosecutor #JohnDurham to prosecute those involved in the Steele report despite the fact that they hadn't broken any laws. But Trump had several ties to Russia through business dealings and Russia ran #Facebook ads in Trump's favor before the 2016 election. Mueller couldn't prove a coordinated conspiracy (hard to do) but he found multiple unexplained connections to Russia and several instances of obstruction that Bill Barr refused to prosecute because he was a Trump loyalist. But, Barr eventually turned against Trump following the Jan. 6th insurrection and Trump's repeated false claims of election fraud.
