Ahh you're my favorite equine blog on tumblr. Just want you to know! I really like the fact that you're so educated on horses (unlike many on the equestrians on here). Also it's really cool that you ride western. There are so few on tumblr it's hard for me to find a blog that I can relate to. Keep being awesome!!

Why do you leave the bit on your horse's bridle when you "flat" (what ever that means). If you're not connecting the reins to the bit then what is the point of having a bit in the first place? Just curious.
he flats with the bit. so all his dressage lessons are ridden with the reins attached to the bit. when he jumps the bridle is converted into a bitless. Tucker is a really strange horse, he used to be a wheeler on a coach team and he kind of went insane from it (understandably, he’s really not built to be a wheeler) so when he came to delval he was kind of a nut case from what i’ve heard. I guess Angelo really liked him or something since he’s still here. but last year he was only always ridden bitless. He can get kind of unmanageable when he’s bitless too so they got him this to get him used to the bit when being ridden, but it can also easily be changed to the bitless without really having to do too much.

besides, drawing blood can be really fuckin difficult. plus she gripped your arm so she could get a vein to pop up smh
oh no doubt!!! with me, she had trouble finding mine, but the fault was in that she didnt put the needle in where she marked and then had to move it while it was already in, which is why i had such a wide trauma area. and the bruise im worried about, that i said was really vibrant and showed no signs of healing yet, is no where near where she took the blood from. its like a good 40 degrees off from where it was taken. i thought it was maybe just the blood settling from the trauma, which in all honesty it more than likely is, but im a worrywart 24/7.
but nah the bruise from where she gripped me is already done and healed and out of the equation

how is being unable to find a vein illegal what
not that, the fact that they were continuously pulling the needle out and putting it back in. for like, contamination and stuff. its the same needle for the same person but the needle and the puncture have been in open air and risk getting airborne allergens, blah blah blah. i think its like that it could not be tho????? thats what we were taught in my medical procedures class
