Album "The Scream" Released 13.11.1978 by Siouxsie And The Banshees
#thescream #siouxsieandthebanshees #siouxsiesioux #stevenseverin #johnmckay #kennymorris #stevelillywhite photography: #paulwakefield Another Brilliant Debut - I so remember when this record came out. This album influence everyone from #joydivision #thesmiths #massiveattack This may have been the very first post punk album out of The U.K. #johnpeel played it in its entirety a month before it came out. The version of #helterskelter is seriously as unfiltered wild as this song needs to be. This album’s sound was so unique, blistering guitars along side Siouxsie’s vocals made this so enigmatic and different. The originals #metalpostcard #overground are sonic masterpieces . Siouxsie an The Banshees such a great live band - miss them … Enjoy (at Hollywood Hills) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUBmDn3FU_X/?utm_medium=tumblr
#Repost @britishandpopular @download.ins --- Siouxsie and the Banshees perform “Hong Kong Garden” in 1979 with their original lineup. Guitarist John McKay and drummer Kenny Morris would leave the band abruptly later in 1979. Robert Smith of the Cure was tapped to fill-in for McKay on subsequent tour dates before a permanent replacement could be found in the form of John McGeoch (ex-Magazine). Morris would be replaced by the former Slits drummer, Budgie, who would go on to marry Siouxsie in 1991. #siouxsieandthebanshees #siouxsiesioux #johnmckay #hongkonggarden #postpunk #punkvideo #gothmusic #newwave #livemusic #musicvideo #robertsmith #thecure #johnmcgeoch #kennymorris #budgie #magazine #theslits https://www.instagram.com/p/CEaK09inLIR/?igshid=a69mayslx8so

My Year of the Book - Day 45 (Valentines Day Edition): I believe the best gift you can give someone is loving them as unconditionally as humanly possible for exactly who they are. And while advertisers try to tell us (and sell us) on the “secret” to romance, in my case, it had more to do with football, classic films and Lucille Ball than jewelry, candy and flowers. My wife Diane grew up in a family of USC and Tom Landry-era (an important distinction) Dallas Cowboy fans, and she knew more about football than most guys I grew up with. Just check out her youthful pencil updates (Photo 2) to USC’s Rose Bowl record in her dad’s copy of “The Trojans” (1974) by Ken Rappoport, one of many fine NCAA FB program histories published by Strode in that decade. A few years after we married, we both waited in line so Tom Landry could sign her copy of his new autobio (Photo 4). Our mutual love of old movies and classic TV series (including “I Love Lucy”) also drove many of our gift purchases in the days before streaming options supplanted VHS and DVDs, and the only other type of gift she would consistently find under the tree each Christmas was a show biz biography by or about one of her favorites, signed and/or inscribed if at all possible, including those shown in Photo 3. These days, her passion for Trojan football continues unabated, and we’ve had the added bonus of seeing our two daughters follow her footsteps and attend USC. And although one has graduated, the other still covers various sports for the “Daily Trojan” newspaper. On the other hand, Diane’s Cowboy fandom ceased the moment a certain Mr. Jones bought the team and fired Landry, but she continues to root for a couple of NFL teams and several individual players, including more than a few former Trojans.
