Leroy Jethro Gibbs ↳ Dad to all the parents of the MCRT ↳ Granddad to the next generation
Imagine ‘Aunt Abby’ coming back to DC for a visit and seeing her ‘nieces’ and ‘nephew’ all grown up... she’d be so happy to see them and everyone else
You know how Victoria (Palmer) calls Ducky ‘Granducky?’ Well, I wonder if Tali, Johnny, and Morgan would call him that too
Wishful thinking
I’m hoping they go all out for 400, with Tony, Ziva, Tali, Senior, Delilah, Johnny and Morgan, Breena, Victoria, Kayla and Jared, Gerald (very wishful thinking), Abby, (very wishful thinking part 2), Mike Franks’ and Diane’s ghosts, Fornell, Emily, Faith, Phineas, etcetera etcetera etcetera. I just want a big family reunion with everyone, so it can be truly special.
what she says: i’m fine
what she means: the subplot leading to bishop and jake’s divorce was stupid and lazy. the writers need new ideas to keep things fresh, of course, but causing a rift between two characters just for the sake of a plot was dumb. the main cause for their divorce was mainly work-related; however, mcgee and delilah work at different agencies at different clearance levels, and now they’re married with two kids. even when delilah took that job in dubai, the two of them still made an effort to always communicate and stay in touch, and talk about other things besides work. they had small disagreements, but of course that’s to be expected when it comes to not seeing each other in a while. not even all of the disagreements were about work, either. when it comes to bishop and jake, the plot that they were growing apart was natural- they were both having a hard time adjusting to not working with each other every day. however, that was an issue that could have easily been resolved in a few episodes- one or both of them could have sought help from a coworker, or suggested marriage counseling to get them back on track. it would have made sense- neither bishop nor jake are the type to give up easily. instead, the writers decided to make jake do a complete 180, and cheat on bishop. this is a cheap tactic, and I understand that it was most likely done to open up the possibility of a new love interest for bishop after tony had left (first qasim (just an example, not relevant to my point), then torres, who took tony’s place on the team and reinforced the trope that two of the lead main actors have to fall for each other. i am in no way saying that that’s a bad thing, but the way it was executed was poor, especially as how for the majority of season fourteen, torres and quinn had a ‘thing’ due to their history. only when quinn left did torres become interested in bishop, evidencing the fact that he is a bored playboy who needed something else to chase after- his second choice and the only remaining female for him to be interested in (abby doesn’t count), bishop. bishop deserved (and still deserves) someone who chooses her first and values her feelings, not just someone who was only interested in her because she was the only thing left to turn to. in conclusion, the whole mess could have easily been avoided, had the writers made bishop and jake resolve their issues, rather than just introducing a divorce for the sole purpose of stirring up drama.
