toxic best friend! johnny who buys you lip gloss in flavors he likes, then smears it across your mouth with his thumb before kissing it off. he tells you you taste sweeter every time, that he’s the only one who gets to ruin that sweetness.

toxic best friend! johnny who gets quiet and mean when you mention hanging out with someone else. he tilts his head, pretty eyes narrowing, and murmurs that they won’t know how to kiss you right, won’t know you like to be held by the jaw. then he kisses your cheek, soft and possessive, and says you’re too sensitive for anyone but him.

toxic best friend! johnny who introduces you to his family as his best friend while his hand stays on your thigh under the table. he squeezes when you laugh too loud at someone else’s joke, then soothes it with his thumb, smiling like nothing happened

So you know how Johnny has a bad relationship with his father? Imagine how protective he’d be when introducing you to him

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS AND THOUGHTS ON JOHNNY'S FATHER OMG. so excuse my tangent real quick...

like, it's said in the book he left while Carrie was pregnant with Will, so why would she name Will after him? Especially since he was abusive. Considering he was abusive, I think it's quite probable that there's an AVO (or as I just googled for the american equivalent: DVRO) against him, keeping him from being around Carrie at the minimum and both the boys, maybe even the entire family, at the most.

Because of all of that, I think it's highly unlikely you would get introduced to Johnny's father. but men like him have a tendency to be where they're not supposed to, so I could see you meeting him after one of Johnny's matches or tournaments. Johnny's won (because when does he ever lose?) and after all the hype and congratulations from his teammates, he's pulling you into his arms as you say you're so proud of him. "You're all sweaty!" "You still love me anyway" Will makes some comment on Johnny's performance and Johnny thanks him with a ruffle to his hair. Carrie and Ed say they're gonna go start the car and leave Johnny and you to polite "good game" exchanges with his opponent. That's when his father would approach you both. "Johnny, my boy," and Johnny's so rigid. Arm around you (if it wasn't before) and tight. "Dad. What are you doing here? Does mom know you're here?" He shakes his head. "Nah, I'm just stopping by." His eyes are a dead giveaway he's high out of his mind. Said eyes look over you with a "who's this young lady?" "My girlfriend. Of quite a while now." "Us Dennises and beautiful women, huh." "Yeah... dad, we better go." He doesn't tell Carrie about it, maybe Ed in the coming weeks, but he can't sleep that night till he's confessed everything to you, sat on his bed while he paced back and forth at the end of it. "And maybe the weirdest part was that I still, I don't know, expected him to be proud of me? Like for him to say I played well or approve of my girlfriend? How weird is that? I hate him yet still wanted him to... like the man I'm becoming? I don't know, feel bad about what a pathetic excuse of one he was?"

Johnny is 1000% the type to marry young. like at 20. and he has no reservations about going ALLLL out on the wedding.

as an actual husband day to day? I don't see him changing much from how he is as a boyfriend; loyal, sarcastic, dedicated, horny, etc. but he really loves reminding everyone of his promotion from boyfriend to husband "well, as their husband..." "your husbanddd already did that, so don't worry about it"

as a dad?!? he's a good mix between helicopter parent and "eh, I was dumping out my parents' pills at their age, I'm sure they're fine." He's also SO obsessed and in love with his kid like totally believes they're the best thing ever. none of the Liars (even if they have kids of their own at this point) can grasp Johnny being a dad, and so young too (because I think he'd marry then a couple years later have a kid)
