Authors Note: Alright! I love this fricking man sooooo much!! Honestly a tragedy that there are not enough x reader fics with him, so I have taken it upon myself to write! Sorry if it seems ooc I'm caught up with the manga but I still need to figure out how to write him!!
𖹭 Husband Loki who tries to intimidate you with his massive size and how easy it would be to kill you, but only lets out grumbled complaints as you curl into his shoulder and use his hair as a blanket shielding you from the underworlds permenant frost. All while Loki steadies his breathing, sitting as still as he can while giving any creature that dares to disturb your nap a deathly glare
𖹭 Husband Loki who whenever you give him food that you made just for him, immeadiatly gobbles it up not wasting another second to eat your cooking, then asking for seconds even if the food is too small to completely fill him up he'll never miss a chance to eat something you made just for him
𖹭 Husband Loki who try with all his might can’t help the flush that forms on his cheeks and the loud hammer in his chest that he swears you can hear whenever you compliment him, letting out a snarky remark that held no bite or scoffing like your sweet compliments offended him as he turned his face hoping you wouldn’t notice.
𖹭 Husband Loki who intimidates tells the creatures of the Underworld of Elbaf to watch over and protect you since he was still imprisoned, as he would give hell incarnate to whatever dares to harm, the one good thing in his life that he’ll protect and cling to for the rest of his life.
𖹭 Husband Loki who at quite moments laments his imprisonment, wishing to be free to take you on adventures, wanting to see your bright smile in the sun and see how your face could light up from the wonders of the world.
𖹭 Husband Loki who sits patiently as he lets you mess with his hair, making small braids and puffing his chest out with pride if anyone were to notice or question it saying his wonderful spouse made it! If the braid ever does get loose or untangled, expect him to frown and sulk until you fix the braid and make another one just to be safe.
𖹭 Husband Loki who has done terrible things and is the sole reason of the curse that plagues Elbaf, and he knows you deserve so so much better than him, someone who can hold you and keep you warm at night, someone who isn't scared of being soft and kind, someone who doesn't have decades of trauma someone normal.
𖹭 Husband Loki is a greedy man, and he would rather die than loose you to someone else, when you both said your vows you better know he meant it with his entire soul that it was together in sickness and in health, the world will burn by his hand and be left in ash if for whatever reason you were to leave him.
Imagine having children with Loki, and the baby comes out with exactly the same eyes he has and Loki is feeling tense and on edge because he knows what happened the first time his birth mother laid eyes on him and he doesn't think this world would survive his wrath if his child was to suffer the same fate.
But then, once again, you keep proving him wrong and climb the giant bassinet next to your shared bed to give your child the warmest of smiles and a soft kiss to their huge chubby cheek.
"Hello, my love." You softly coo. "Welcome to the world." The baby gurgles, their huge hands rising towards your voice.
You didn't recoil in disgust, you didn't reject them. You just introduced them to life with a smile.
And Loki feels something simultaneously break and heal inside his chest.
”Please… Stop that…” Loki begged, his voice weak as his eyes, now not covered in its usual bandages, quivered in emotion.
“Stop what?…” She asked him so sweetly, the concern on her face palatable. How he adored this woman so much, and that only made it that much harder.
“Stop making me love you… It’d just make it harder…” He shook his head.
“What harder? You know that I love you, so why are you saying that?…” She frowned softly, the very tip of his finger going to affectionately run over her head.
“…When I inevitably lose you…” Tears pricked his eyes. “You’re a human, and humans can only live for so long. I’d still look the same as the day we met, while you slowly wither away to time, the only thing in the world I can’t fight…”
“Then don’t waste a single second.” She told him, going to wrap her arms around the tip of his finger. “For now and forever, my feelings will not change. Even when the time comes, and it won’t be anytime soon, even by Giant standards, I’ll always be with you in spirit, that I promise.” She smiled tenderly up at him.
“So, don’t worry about the future, okay? You shouldn’t close yourself off anymore because of things like past hurt and time, because like it or not, I plan to be with you for the rest of my life. Does that sound good to you?”
Loki wiped his eyes, a small smile appearing on his face. “That sounds like the best thing I ever heard.”

The council should really stop meddling, in your opinion.
Being born with Ancient Giant traces in your lineage, you knew the perceptions of your kind better than anyone else. The idea of being 'pure-blooded' for the royal line was quite an outdated idea, really. You did not want any part of it, but when Prince Loki proposed marriage to Big Mom's child of all people, the council panicked and immediately put pressure on King Harald to set his marriage up with a Giant having Ancient Giant blood in them.
King Harald did not want to engage his son to anyone, knowing full well himself what such a marriage could lead to, and yet he could not completely overthrow the council's… 'kind advice.' And though you had no respect for the council's whims and demands, you did have great respect for King Harald. In an attempt to retain some power over the decision making, King Harald had gone through all the possible candidates (a measly three) and chosen you, for you were the only one actually around Loki's age.
Not to mention, you supported King Harald's views on Elbaph's future. When he had learnt that, there was unmistakeable relief on his features, and you couldn't help but wonder if he truly thought you could make a difference. Prince Loki was well-known for his bigoted and elitist views, claiming Giant supremacy. And yet, he has proposed to Charlotte Lola, who was notably not a Giant—which made you wonder.
It had been two years since she had run away from the marriage, but to Giants, that wasn't as long. He could still be nursing a broken heart, and you did not want to impose yourself on him in any case. An arranged marriage for the purity of maintaining the royal bloodline was the last thing he needed after such a rejection, you thought.
But King Harald had requested you personally, and you were unable to refuse.
So here you were now, waiting with the King and the council to meet the man you were going to be betrothed to. The throne room was filled with the incoherent whispers of those old meddlers, and you could not bring yourself to look at King Harald. He did not want this any more than you did, but between the two of you, there was still this sense of awkwardness brought forth by the fact that you were only agreeing to this for the sake of the respect you held for him.
After all, Loki was truly your opposite. It was impossible for him to agree to marry you, who was so different to him.
The doors to the throne room banged open, startling you out of your thoughts, and the Prince finally barged in. You were already irritated by how long he had made you wait, having no respect for your time, and it only compounded upon seeing the glare he immediately sent you as if you had planned all of this.
"I refuse!" He announced immediately. You couldn't stop yourself from rolling your eyes in time, and decided to commit to it by folding your arms over your chest. Let him know you were not begging to marry him either; it was the last thing you wanted.
"Loki," King Harald immediately tried to placate him, but the council, ignorant and arrogant as they were, interrupted him to regale all of you once again with the speech on how it was important to maintain the sanctity of the royal bloodline. When they started talking about how you must marry and bear children for this great honour, your mouth twisted into a look of disgust even Loki's couldn't match. The two of you were only 45, in your Giant equivalent of what the humans called 'teens.' You were both impressed and disgusted by how clinical they could be about uttering such garbage, but if King Harald couldn't throw them out, then you were even more powerless.
"Why are you acting like you don't know the end result of this insanity?" Loki roared, glaring at his father but pointing at you. You swallowed the urge to speak up, because the adults had all warned you to let them deal with him first.
Everyone knew how Queen Estrid had denounced her own son for he was born with demonic eyes. You never liked her, or the fact that she could so easily abandon her own child over something so inconsequential. How unfeeling and selfish does a person have to be to do that?
Loki's claims had basis. You could have been just like her, like one of those other Giants who only care about the title and the power. But the truth was you did not care for that—you only wanted to live a peaceful and happy life on Elbaph, learning and teaching and shaping this land into one where knowledge, culture, history and love bound people.
"Prince Loki, argument is futile," one of the council spoke up, unfazed by his anger. "This is your duty, the one you have been bound to since before your birth."
"And you want my future child to be bound to this ridiculous notion as well?" He hissed, and you could truly understand his anger in that. Honestly though, if you became Queen, you would try your level best to abolish the council first and foremost; they were far too meddlesome and powerful for your liking.
"Enough!" King Harald boomed, shutting up both sides. "Loki, the blood you claim to take so much pride in was the result of my marriage with Estrid. Our beliefs aside, there are certain duties we are bound to for the sake of Warland. And because I did not want you to suffer as I did, I chose the one you are going to marry. You will not be disappointed, of that I can assure you."
You laughed mirthlessly and soundlessly at the words; there was nothing harder than to please Prince Loki. For him to be not disappointed, for him to be okay with you, was a pipe dream at best.
"Talk amongst yourselves before you refuse," King Harald growled. He promptly stood up and left, leaving the throne room. Loki sent you one last glare before stomping out himself. You wondered if it would be okay for you to ignore the king's order and tried to make your way to the door.
The council stopped you in your tracks, and you tried not to let your disdain of them show, but their words made it all quite too difficult.
"You would do well to remember what is at stake, child."
A threat to your family, to your village, to all those you held close—all simply because they happened to be subjects of Warland, and these old jerks happened to hold sway over them all.
You were against violence, and you did not believe in the crap that Giants have inherently violent tendencies. But these people, they made you wish that you didn't advocate for peace—just so you could punch them to the next century. No, next millenium. May mother nature swallow their flesh and bone before they could wake up.
"Prince Loki, wait!" You called out after him. He had already walked quite a distance, the palace left far behind as he made his way to the underworld. Loki ignored you in favour of slipping down to the snow covered hellscape. You ran after him, cursing under your breath as you found yourself in the snow covered underworld.
And yet all you could do in your position was nod and not let any of your thoughts show on your face. They filed out, leaving you standing in the empty throne room, reminding you that even at your best, you were going to be all alone in this.
•
"Stop following me," Loki snarled, finally stopping in his tracks. You huffed out a breath as you finally stood across him, hands on your hips.
"I do not desire this marriage any more than you do, Prince Loki," you offered him a plain smile. He stilled at those words, and you briefly wondered how his expression must have changed beneath the bandages. "I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for you, so soon after…"
You trailed off, unsure how to word it. Loki tensed, his body dropping into a defensive posture.
"Do not speak of things you do not know," he warned, and you decided to switch tracks.
"But we are duty bound," you whispered, looking down at your own palms. "I cannot fight against the council, and neither can you. Though we share no love, I believe it would be in our best interests to play our parts. I will not bind you to the duties of a spouse, so long as you do not beholden me to the same. We can be engaged in name alone, until we can figure out a way to circumvent–"
"Or," Loki interrupted, a smirk on his face, "I could beat you up, and then no one would insist we marry."
You paused, taking a second to scrutinise if this was a terrible attempt at a joke, or if he was being serious. You didn't have the luxury to truly wonder though, because Loki pounced on you the very next moment, and your instincts kicked in to dodge his attacks.
With every punch and kick that you dodged, Loki's expression changed. He had thought that you, who advocated for that peaceful nonsense crap, would not know how to fight. It wasn't his brightest idea, but Loki had thought that if he just managed to hurt you a bit, you would not stand to be married to him and the council and his father would have to change their minds.
He hadn't expected you to know how to fight, though you were refusing to fight back. You were carefully only dodging his blows, on your defence. And that sent a thrill up his spine, as he wondered how he could make you fight back.
"Stop holding back," he said, unable to hide the excitement in his voice as you once again dodged him with the kind of ease that spoke of consistent training. "Fight me back!"
"Prince Loki, I do not wish to fight you," you replied, barely ducking in time to avoid the swipe he attempted. "You know I have no interest in violence for the sake of violence!"
"And yet you are unexpectedly good at fighting," he pointed out, not toning down his advances in the least. You scowled at his relentless pursuit.
"Knowing how to defend yourself is a skill I believe every Giant should know regardless of who and where they are."
"And this doesn't go against your no violence nonsense?" He asked, finally slowing down to challenge you in a verbal argument. You huffed, straightening out your hair and clothing before you answered.
"I believe that Giants are not inherently violent," you explained. "However, what I truly advocate is the freedom of choice. I do not want our future generations to grow up believing that fighting is in their blood and so that is the only end they can have. I want an Elbaph full of Giants who are learned, who are strong enough to defend themselves, and who have the knowledge to make a choice about what they truly want to do. I do not agree with all of King Harald's changes such as completely erasing fighting skills from the children's curriculum, but I still admire him for at least taking a step in that direction. Not everything is black and white, Prince Loki."
"So that's your grand plan for when you become Queen?" Loki's voice was strange, and not for the first time, you wished you could see his eyes, if only so that his face would tell what he was truly thinking.
"No, that is my wish as a citizen of Warland, as a Giant of Elbaph," you corrected him. "If you would stop fighting me, and agree to this arrangement, I might become the Queen. But that is not for a long time. Even if I do not become the Queen, I want to do my best for this wonderful land we have been fortunate to be born on."
Loki was silent for a few seconds, then snorted. "You speak a bunch of fancy crap. Whatever. I guess I can tolerate this… arrangement, as you put it."
You blinked, staring after him as the prince walked off. The words took a few seconds to click, but when you finally understood, you gave a sigh of relief.
Somehow, your betrothal turns into an excuse for Loki to spar with you. Eventually he wears you down and you start fighting back, treating it as good training for the both of you. It becomes your thing, with the two of you ignoring the topic of marriage and simply engaging in fighting. Although Loki was still the brash, violent, and crude prince you knew him as, there was a shift in how you saw him.
"You better be back here tomorrow to fight me for real," Loki called out from the distance. "If I don't find you here for a spar, I can't say if I would be able to tolerate the arrangement anymore."
•
Maybe because of the difference in distance, maybe because there was this strange satisfaction in outsmarting him, or maybe because you got to see his cocky smirk from up close so often—you found your heart beating a little faster than normal.
And though Loki would never say it, he found himself enjoying the time spent around you too. You didn't seem to care about his reputation as the problem prince, and… surprisingly, you didn't seem to care about his eyes either. In fact, you seemed to even like them.
It started off innocently enough.
In one of your sparring sessions, you had nicked his bandages, causing them to tear. Loki's hands automatically came up to hold them in place, but that was all the gap you needed to topple him down, and then you were bracketing his waist, with your sword pointed at his throat; and Loki's face was fully visible, his eyes widened in surprise. Your own eyes had widened for a brief second in shock, but your smug smile did not drop.
"It's my win, handsome," you teased him. You had figured out that Loki could get surprisingly flustered with certain compliments. Although he was arrogant enough to not blink at compliments about his strength, he was weirdly cagey about compliments to his looks and to his personality. You had seen his eyes and yet teased him like that, and Loki frowned, thinking that your words must hold no weight. Empty praises to get a rise out of him, that's all they were.
And so he had averted his gaze until you clambered off and held out your hand to help him get up. He ignored it in favour of retying his bandages. You pouted and walked off, murmuring, "What a shame."
Loki paused at the words, unsure why your behaviour seemed to jab something inside him. He did not care for others' opinions of him, and you were no different. Right? If you found his eyes as disgusting as his mother had, as everyone else did, you would be no different.
But the next day, you nicked his bandages off again, and the smile on your face was somehow brighter than before. It did not seem like his eyes mattered to you. The way you saw him, the way you acted around him, none of it changed. If anything, you seemed to smile at him more when his eyes were exposed.
Still, he kept them covered. Somehow, his eyes remaining open made him feel vulnerable. Like you could read him, and see through to his soul whenever your eyes met.
He was more careful with his bandages from then on, and the sparring sessions seemed to build up a different kind of tension from before, the distance between you two diminishing so that you were pressed up against each other more often than not. Yet both of you hesitated to act on anything, and Loki would end up speaking harshly afterwards, as if to balance it out.
You never seemed to be hurt by his words, but one day, his words must have been particularly harsh because you had this expression that he never wished to see again. You had thrown your sword at him, and by the time he got up from dodging it, you had walked off faster than ever before. Loki found himself following you quietly, and was surprised to find you at Ida's empty, closed bar.
"Oh no, sweetheart, what's wrong?" The older Giant was always sweet and kind to you, and you sought her comfort and advice when things became tough. Your family and village had some outdated ideas about how to deal with the engagement (re: seducing the young prince), but Ida seemed to be on the same page as you.
"'S nothing," you mumbled, asking her for a drink. "Loki is being an ass again."
"Ah," Ida smiled knowingly, not speaking anything more as she wiped down a glass for you.
"How are you?" You asked, hoping to change the topic. Ida seemed to be slightly sick these days, and you worried for her health. She returned an exhausted smile.
"Same old, same old," she tried to reassure you, but seeing you frown, she tried to change tactics. "Think I could see a marriage anytime before I get well?"
You snorted, joking, "If you set me up with Hajruddin maybe."
Loki, who was totally not eavesdropping on you two from the window, froze at the words.
"Then I can finally be your daughter-in-law and you will let me take care of you whenever you get sick," you teased her.
"Nope, not even then," she whacked you lightly on your head with her towel. "And between us two, you know I know that you wouldn't really be happy with my eldest son."
"I don't know what you are talking about," you grumbled, looking out the window. "Liking Loki sounds more like a painful experience than however love is supposed to be. Nothing like what you and King Harald have."
Loki decided that he had heard enough; for some reason, his chest felt funny at your words, and there was an uneasy pit in his stomach at the thought of you marrying Hajruddin. It didn't make sense because he hadn't really wanted to marry you, but at this point, it felt more foolish to deny it.
Somewhere along the two some years he had gotten to know you, he had started liking you. And the truth was that Prince Loki of Elbaph, who had given up on love right after his birth, knew all too well that love was not something he was worthy of. A pure love was not something he would ever receive. Not when his own mother could not love him.
So how could you? Maybe you would really be happier with Hajruddin. And wasn't that an ugly thought?
Even if you would be happier with him, Loki didn't want to give you up. So what if you like Hajruddin better? So did everybody else on Elbaph. And yet you were betrothed to him, to Loki. So he just had to make you stay.
You never figured out what changed, or why, but Loki stopped saying mean and harsh things to you. Instead he would awkwardly break off the tension to escape conversation. You were left watching him in confusion every time, wondering if this was some weird truce he was trying at. Then you thought, nah, that can't be.
Prince Loki was not worthy of love, in his own eyes. But he could try to become worthy to one Giant. To you.
•
But you noticed the changes more and more as time passed. The way Loki was relaxed around you. The way he would hold back in the spars to never let anything even accidentally hurt you. The way he let you touch him, sometimes even initiating contact. The way he asked questions and listened to you talk about your ideas.
And you didn't understand what was going on, but you couldn't say you disliked it. He was still gruff and rough and said things he didn't quite mean, because he would always do the opposite—but he was trying to be nicer, and if you pointed it out, he would just get angry and stop, so you didn't.
You just tried to show your support through your actions. Smiling more at him, bringing him food sometimes, leaning into his side when he let you, and once even telling him that you really liked his eyes so if he wanted to remove the bandages just around you, he could do it.
The silence at your words had been deafening, as you wondered if you had crossed a line you shouldn't have, but then he removed the bandages, and you noticed the pink in his cheeks and realised—Loki was shy. And his eyes looked a little scared and a little disbelieving, but you just gave him a soft smile and said, "They suit you well, my prince."
Things were going so well, you thought that within a few years, you might actually get married. And the impending marriage didn't feel that damning anymore, not when you found yourself falling in love, not when you felt Loki reciprocating in his own actions.
Though you both ignored talking about it, you dreamed about a future where you could be married and happy. Where he might be king, and you might be queen, and you shaped Elbaph into the greatness King Harald had kick-started.
And you thought that it would be nice to go out and explore what is out there for yourself so you could do more good as a Queen someday. So you requested to get on a cargo ship that conducted trade with some of the neighbouring and allied islands. The council wasn't happy but Loki agreed and so did King Harald and so you set sail, thrumming with excitement to learn and come home with enough courage to let Loki know how you really felt.
But good things never last. You should have known that.
When you returned to Elbaph 3 years later, you had lost too much. You lost Ida. Loki destroyed Brewers village, and your village immediately retracted the marriage arrangement because they feared they would be next. And then King Harald died, and everyone said it was Loki who killed him, calling him the shame of Elbaph, while you watched everything you had dreamed about crumble one after the other.
Nothing made sense. It was difficult to even look at Hajruddin, when you could feel his anger and grief, and you couldn't agree with him. It was difficult to stand in front of Ida and Harald's graves, not knowing what to say. It was difficult to face your village without feeling like you were living different lives, with very different priorities and goals.
Time doesn't heal much when you are burdened with questions and no answers. It only taught you to make peace with having the questions unanswered, especially since Loki had long left Elbaph and you doubted he would ever come back.
But he was brought back eventually. The Red-haired Emperor of the Sea brought him back and Chief Jarul had him chained up in the Underworld. You wanted to see him, but the decision to not execute him struck you as odd, and you decided to confront the oldest Giant in Elbaph first before you went down.
Chief Jarul had denied answering you before when you had questioned him, but this time he finally relented and told you the truth of what had happened. And everything fell into place once more, because yeah, that sounded more like the Loki you knew.
So you went down to the Underworld to face the prince who had left Elbaph to go destroy the World Government. Seeing him chained and bruised up, you couldn't help the small gasp that left you. Loki had always held such an imposing figure in front of you, full of strength and power, that it was jarring to see him defeated and wounded.
He tensed upon seeing you and smiled derisively.
"Come to mock me, have you?" He asked, and it was like the first time you had met all over again. You ignored him in favour of running your fingers over his bruises. Loki flinched at the featherlight touch, the sea-stone chains jangling from the movement. "No? Ah, then you must be here because of that stupid arrangement."
You paused in your ministrations to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Maybe you are a little out of touch," he hissed, his mocking smile never waning. "You are free now. This sham marriage they tried to push on you is done with, so you don't have to keep trying. You got what you want, so go and live out your life however you wanted to!"
And really, did he think he was a good actor? You really weren't very impressed with his attempts. Tilting your head at him, you smiled back at him in the same way you had before you had left Elbaph. The sight made him freeze, as always.
"I'm afraid that what I want," you said carefully, bringing a hand up to undo the bandages covering his eyes, "is chained up in the Underworld at the moment."
Loki's breath hitched, and you saw him open his mouth to probably barrage you with insults and mean taunts that had once upon a time hurt your young heart. But you knew better now, and you knew what he was truly like, what he truly meant to say beneath crude words.
"You cannot be rid of me, Prince Loki," you said sweetly, your own smile taking an edge as you finally slipped off the bandages. Loki's eyes were wide in shock and disbelief. You brushed your thumb over his left cheek, right under his eye, and continued, "So what if they had arranged this marriage first? There's no rule saying that I can't marry you of my own accord. If anything, their arrangement shows how perfect I am; they cannot deny me on the basis of my status or who I am."
"You…" Loki seemed to be stunned speechless, and the sight of him like that made you laugh softly. "I don't want you. You give yourself too much credit. You have no place in my ambitions. I am Prince Loki, the Sun God, and I will destroy the world!"
"Okay," you agreed, still giving him a loving smile. "Let's destroy the world together. I know what happened 7 years ago. I have a score to settle with those World Government people too."
"You, you hate violence." Loki tried to say it like a statement but it came out as a question.
"I do," you replied. "I just hate them a little more."
Loki was looking so bewildered and baffled by every word out of your mouth that you decided to take pity on him. Backing away from where he was chained, you tucked your hands behind your back and said with all seriousness,
"I love you, Prince Loki of Elbaph. I will get you out of these chains so you can stand next to me on the altar of life to swear your soul unto me. And when we are married, we will leave this island to 'destroy the world' and set it free. So I won't ask you if you will marry me. You have a tendency to lie about your feelings, and it seems you haven't changed in the years we have spent apart."
"When did I lie?!" Loki sounded outraged, but you just smirked.
"If you think I didn't recognise your ploy to get me away from you so that I don't get involved with the World Government, then you must think me stupider than I am."
Loki paused at that, and then finally let out a huff of laughter.
"Fine, you win," he murmured. "You want to marry me so bad, you look stupid."
You barked out a laugh at his sad attempt.
"No, silly," you said, just a bit sweeter than usual. "You love me so bad, you look stupid trying to be the hero you are not."

A/n: also, just as a fyi, I was doing giant age math for this fic and realised that since Loki was (human age) 17 when he had to kill Harald (which is insanity to me, he was so young TT) the Lola marriage proposal must have happened after Harald's death during his marine hunting phase. I really wanna know the details of how and why he proposed to Lola lmao,, I hc he asked Lola's hand when she was 20 and he was 19-ish (in human equivalence).
The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden haze over the jagged cliffs of Elbaf. The island’s terrain was as unforgiving as its reputation, with rocky paths winding through towering forests and steep inclines that seemed to mock your stamina. At just over five feet tall, you felt like an ant trudging through a world built for giants. Your legs ached, your boots were caked in mud, and every step sent a dull throb through your calves. Hours of walking had left you teetering on the edge of collapse, and the weight of your pack seemed to grow heavier with every passing minute.
Ahead of you loomed Loki, the infamous giant prince of Elbaf, his colossal frame dominating the landscape. At sixty-seven meters tall, he was a walking mountain, his presence both awe-inspiring and intimidating. His long, magenta hair swayed in the breeze, the twin braids framing his face neatly while the rest spilled messily down his back. Bandages wrapped tightly over his eyes, giving him an air of mystery, though you’d learned by now that he didn’t need sight to navigate the world with unnerving precision. His massive steps shook the ground, yet he moved with a grace that belied his size, each stride deliberate, almost performative.
Loki’s personality was as towering as his stature. Arrogance dripped from his every word, his sharp tongue weaving taunts and clever quips with ease. He reveled in trickery, delighting in outsmarting anyone who dared cross his path. There was a cruelty to him, too—a penchant for toying with others, pushing their limits just to see how far they’d bend before breaking. Yet, in the weeks you’d traveled with him, you’d glimpsed something else beneath the surface: a flicker of compassion, rare and fleeting, like a star obscured by storm clouds.
“Keep up, little mouse,” Loki called, his deep voice rumbling like distant thunder. He didn’t turn to look at you, but you could hear the smirk in his tone. “Or do you plan to collapse and make me carry you like some fragile trinket?”
You gritted your teeth, forcing your legs to keep moving. “I’m fine,” you huffed, though your voice betrayed your exhaustion. “And I’m not that small.”
Loki chuckled, a low, resonant sound that vibrated through the air. “Oh, but you are. A speck, really. I could flick you into the next island with a twitch of my finger.”
You rolled your eyes, too tired to muster a proper retort. The banter was familiar by now, a strange rhythm you’d fallen into during your journey. You weren’t entirely sure why Loki had agreed to let you tag along—or why you’d chosen to follow a giant with a reputation for chaos. Maybe it was curiosity, or maybe it was the way his rare moments of kindness caught you off guard, like finding a warm ember in a pile of ash.
The path steepened, and you stumbled over a loose rock, catching yourself just before you faceplanted. A frustrated groan escaped your lips. Loki’s steps slowed, and for a moment, you thought he might turn back, but he only tilted his head slightly, as if listening to your struggle.
“Pathetic,” he drawled, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice. “Do humans tire so easily? Or is it just you?”
You glared at the back of his massive head. “I’ve been walking for hours, Loki. Not all of us have legs the size of trees.”
He snorted, a sound that sent a flock of birds scattering from a nearby tree. “Excuses, excuses. Perhaps I should leave you here to become bird food. They’d probably find you tastier than you look.”
Despite your exhaustion, you managed a weak laugh. “You’d miss me too much.”
Loki’s steps faltered, just for a fraction of a second, and you wondered if you’d imagined it. He didn’t respond, which was unusual. Normally, he’d fire back with some biting remark, but this time, he just kept walking, his massive hands swinging casually at his sides.
The sun dipped lower, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. The air grew cooler, and your energy was fading fast. You’d been traveling since dawn, searching for a rumored artifact said to be hidden deep in Elbaf’s mountains. Loki had his own reasons for seeking it—something about proving his cunning to the other giants—but you suspected he was also chasing the thrill of the hunt. For you, it was a chance to see more of the world, to step out of your small life and into something grander.
But right now, grandeur was the last thing on your mind. All you wanted was to stop moving.
“Loki...” you called, your voice weaker than you’d intended. “Can we… rest? Just for a bit?”
He stopped abruptly, and you nearly collided with the back of his massive boot. He turned his head slightly, the bandages over his eyes making it impossible to read his expression. “Rest?” he repeated, as if the word was foreign to him. “You’ve barely made it halfway up this pathetic hill.”
You gestured at the steep incline ahead. “That’s not a hill. It’s a mountain, and I’m not built for this.”
Loki’s lips twitched, and you could tell he was fighting a smile. “Weak,” he muttered, but there was no real venom in it. He crouched down, the ground shaking as his knees hit the earth. Even crouched, he towered over you, his face level with the treetops. “Fine. Five minutes. Don’t expect me to coddle you.”
You didn’t have the energy to argue. Dropping your pack, you sank to the ground, leaning against a boulder. The cool stone felt like heaven against your aching back. You closed your eyes, letting out a long sigh. The sound of Loki shifting nearby was like the creaking of a ship, his massive form settling onto the ground with a low rumble.
For a few minutes, neither of you spoke. The only sounds were the rustle of leaves and the distant cry of some unknown creature. You peeked one eye open, watching Loki as he sat cross-legged, his hands resting on his knees. His head was tilted slightly, as if he were listening to the world around him. The bandages over his eyes gave him an almost serene appearance, though you knew better than to trust that illusion.
“You’re staring,” he said suddenly, his voice cutting through the silence.
You flushed, quickly looking away. “I’m not.”
“Liar.” He smirked, leaning forward slightly. “What’s so fascinating, hmm? My stunning good looks? My overwhelming charm?”
You snorted, despite yourself. “More like your overwhelming ego.”
He laughed, a genuine sound that made your chest feel oddly warm. “You wound me, little mouse. And here I thought we were becoming friends.”
“Friends?” you echoed, raising an eyebrow. “You’ve threatened to flick me into the sea at least three times today.”
“Details,” he said, waving a massive hand dismissively. “I threaten everyone. It’s part of my charm.”
You shook your head, a smile tugging at your lips. Despite his arrogance, there was something about Loki that made it hard to stay mad at him. Maybe it was the way he always seemed to know when you were struggling, even if he hid his concern behind a barrage of insults.
Your eyelids grew heavy, and you stifled a yawn. The boulder was comfortable enough, but the thought of lying down somewhere softer was tempting. Your gaze drifted to Loki’s massive form, specifically to the curved horns protruding from his head. They were enormous, each one thicker than your entire body, curling gracefully like the branches of an ancient tree. An idea sparked in your mind, born of exhaustion and a touch of delirium.
“Loki,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “Can I… try something?”
He tilted his head, the movement sending his braids swaying. “Try what? Don’t tell me you’re planning to climb me like some ambitious squirrel.”
You laughed weakly. “Not exactly. Just… trust me?”
He raised an eyebrow—or at least, you assumed he did beneath the bandages. “Trust you? That’s a bold request, coming from someone who can barely walk straight.”
“Please?” you pressed, giving him your best pleading look.
He sighed dramatically, the sound like a gust of wind. “Fine. But if you fall and break something, don’t expect me to play nursemaid.”
You stood, wobbling slightly, and approached his massive form. Up close, he was even more intimidating, his presence overwhelming in a way that made your heart race. You reached out, placing a hand on the smooth surface of his horn. It was cool to the touch, polished by years of wind and weather. The curve was gentle, almost inviting, like a natural hammock.
With a deep breath, you began to climb. It wasn’t easy—your arms trembled with fatigue, and the horn’s surface was slicker than you’d expected—but determination kept you going. Loki remained still, though you could feel his curiosity radiating like heat. After a few precarious moments, you reached the curve of his horn and settled into it, your body fitting snugly against the smooth, cool surface. It was surprisingly comfortable, the gentle slope cradling you like a bed.
“Well,” Loki said, his voice quieter than usual. “You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?”
You grinned, letting your head rest against the horn. “It’s perfect. Like a giant hammock.”
He huffed, but there was no malice in it. “A hammock. You’ve reduced the mighty Loki, prince of Elbaf, to furniture.”
“Comfy furniture,” you corrected, closing your eyes. The exhaustion was catching up to you, and the gentle sway of Loki’s horn as he adjusted his position was oddly soothing.
For a moment, he was silent. Then, you felt a subtle change in his breathing. It slowed, becoming deep and measured, the rise and fall of his chest like the tide. You realized he was doing it on purpose, keeping his movements steady to avoid jostling you. The thought made your heart skip a beat.
“Loki?” you murmured, your voice heavy with sleep.
“Hmm?”
“Thanks”
He didn’t respond right away, and you thought he might ignore you. But then, softly, he said, “...Don’t get used to it.”
You smiled, letting the warmth of his words wrap around you like a blanket. The world faded, and you drifted into a peaceful sleep, cradled in the curve of a giant’s horn.
When you woke, the sky was dark, speckled with stars. The air was crisp, and a gentle breeze carried the scent of pine and earth. You blinked, disoriented, until you remembered where you were. Loki’s horn was still beneath you, steady and unmoving. You shifted slightly, peering over the edge to see his face.
He was awake, his head tilted slightly as if listening to the night. The bandages over his eyes glowed faintly in the moonlight, giving him an ethereal quality. His expression was unreadable, but there was a softness to it, a quiet contemplation you hadn’t seen before.
“You’re awake,” he said, his voice low. “I was beginning to think you’d sleep through the entire journey.”
You yawned, stretching carefully to avoid slipping. “How long was I out?”
“Long enough,” he replied, a hint of amusement in his tone. “You drool, by the way.”
“I do not!” you protested, though you wiped your mouth just to be sure.
He chuckled, the sound reverberating through his horn and sending a pleasant vibration through you. “Whatever you say, little mouse.”
You sat up, hugging your knees as you looked out at the starlit landscape. The mountains of Elbaf stretched endlessly before you, their peaks shrouded in mist. It was beautiful, in a wild, untamed way, and for a moment, you felt small but not insignificant. Loki’s presence grounded you, his massive form a reminder that even the smallest things could find a place in a world of giants.
“...Why do you let me stick around?” you asked suddenly, the question slipping out before you could stop it. “I’m just… me. I’m not a warrior or a genius. I slow you down.”
Loki was quiet for a long time, long enough that you thought he wouldn’t answer. Then, he spoke, his voice softer than you’d ever heard it. “You’re… persistent. Annoyingly so. And you see things others don’t.”
You frowned, unsure what he meant. “Like what?”
He tilted his head, as if choosing his words carefully. “You see me...Not the prince, not the trickster. Just… me.”
The admission caught you off guard, and you felt a warmth spread through your chest. For all his arrogance and cruelty, Loki was letting you glimpse something real, something vulnerable. It was a gift, one you didn’t take lightly.
“I think you’re more than just a trickster,” you said quietly. “You’re… complicated. And maybe a little kind, when you want to be.”
He snorted, but there was no edge to it. “Careful, little mouse. You’ll ruin my reputation.”
You laughed, the sound echoing in the quiet night. For a moment, the world felt perfect—just you, Loki, and the stars. You leaned back against his horn, content to stay there a little longer, and he didn’t protest. His breathing slowed again, steady and calm, lulling you into a sense of peace.
The artifact could wait until morning. For now, you were exactly where you wanted to be.
hello may i request loki (op) x human reader who is also very blunt and flirty
Loki dealing with a very flirty crush
Masterlist
He is not used to it, not at all.
He just came out of being trapped in his rock and already has you wrapped around his finger, not that he intended to but it happened.
The moment you saw him, you decided you would try to conquer his heart.
And now you flirt with him, night and day and he can't hide his blush cause he is big as a mountain and it is to obvious when he is trying it.
He turns into a blubbling mess when you are around, especially when he sees you are about to open your mouth cause he knows that you are going to say something that is going to make him blush.
"I would try to climb you body just to get to that face, even if it takes me weeks".
You said like nothing, more like an inside joke, but he has heard you and he is rolling (metaphorically) cause how could you say that.
Anyone could say he is uncomfortable with your comments but deep inside he is as much in love with you as you are with him.
But since his social skills are a little outdated, he doesn't really know how to try and express it to you.
He would like to compliment you back or give you a remark, but he is to stunned and to flustered to say more than to words, blush or grunt everytime you say something.
But he would let you, everytime, compliment him and do to him whatever you desired.
The thing is that you don't really fullfill all your compliments cause you don't want to be that invasive, if that is possible.
He is thriving for you compliments, even though they turn him into jelly and it is expecting them always.
Little by little, it becomes a routine and at some point he finally gains courage to say some things back.
"I would love to see how you look at me under that bandages"
"Take them off and find out." he says shyly and bites his lips.
Now that he can say remarks, he is always nervous that it will drop the mood or cut the dynamic, cause he is not sure how to flirt back.
But when he sees that big smile on your face, he finally breaths relaxed.
As time passes, the flirting start incorporating some physical touch, and so on everything escalates until kissing just felt right.
First jokinly on the cheeks and then lowering onto the lips.
When it happened it felt like the right thing to do, but suddently you both realized what happened and blush like crazy.
But that only lasted a couple of hours, cause you both knew your feelings and desire to kiss again.
At the end, Loki is at your feet evertime you say a word, give him a touch or put a kiss on his skin (but you are too).
Thinking about Loki with a S/O who is a local shepherd.
tags: Loki x reader, prince loki x reader, reader is human and not a giant, fluff, comedy
A/N - I wrote this out at three am. this is just a short bit I wrote out while i was working on the hc's and the one-shot for this idea. a quick translation for the nickname he gives the reader, it means "my love".
Loki claimed not to be attached to the sheep and goats you tend to every time you come down to see him. yet every single time you looked over, you would catch this man letting half of the flock climb across him like a mountain or letting the babies sleep on his coat like he was a living blanket.
It was positively adorable to see.
The ones he cared about the most in the flock were the new lambs and goats that had been born last spring. he liked watching you look after them just as much as he loved playing with them and he was impossibly gentle whenever you’d let him hold them in the palm of his hand.
it was safe to say that he got very attached to the lambs and the baby goats of your flock quite quickly. no matter how much he tried to deny it, you could see it in the way he'd have to fight back a softer smile whenever you offered to let him hold them.
they were his buddies. they mattered to you, and in turn they now mattered a great deal to him.
so much so, that on occasion he has tried to hide them from you so he could spend more time watching you care for them.
One evening, while you were getting ready to head back up the Yggdrasil tree to your farm with the flock before the sun went down, you noticed a few of the lambs and goats missing.
Scratch that—not a few—more like several were missing.
You didn't panic at first. lambs and goats tended to wander a bit when they got curious, you had nothing to worry about. at least, not until you kept coming up with dead ends when you tried retracing their steps in the snow.
eventually, once it began to sink in that something was off, you did a headcount with the help of the livestock dogs a few giants gave you awhile back. you looked through the flock—not once, not twice, but three different times just to be positive they weren’t flopped over in the grass somewhere.
it wasn't until you circled the entire clearing and the mild panic that they wandered off into the woods began to set in, that you finally turned to Loki.
“Loki...” you questioned, raising a brow as you noticed him holding as still as possible, “sweetheart, did you see where all the lambs went—"
“I have no clue! Maybe they just got hungry wandered off.” He interrupted, his response almost too quick to escape him and a bit to strained for you not to notice.
The look on your face shifted from concerned, to knowing once you processed what he said.
Something was off.
he responded way too quickly, like he’d just spent the past few minutes preparing for that question.
turning away from the patch of grass you were looking through, your eyes narrowed a bit at him. your lips pursed and your hands rested on your hips as you focused on his expression.
Loki's lips were pressed into a thin line. a veil sweat formed on his brow from how intensely you stared at him. he struggled to keep himself from turning away from facing you. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides like he was trying to focus his energy into something, and despite the bandages wrapped tightly around his eyes, you swore his eyes might have been darting back and forth.
you knew that look.
The lack of movement of his head had your brows raising, and the sight of some of your livestock dogs staring intensely up at his helmet may have given you a hint as to where the lambs and goats were hidden.
“Loki..” you chided, snow crunching under your feet as you approached the giant. placing your hand on his boot, you gestured up towards his head with a mitten covered hand, "why aren't you looking down at me?"
Loki swallowed the lump in his throat as he ever so carefully tilted his head just a little to the right. you swore you could hear what sounded like tapping along the metal of his helmet when he attempted to turn his head.
"Sorry about that, elskan.." he replied, clearing his throat as he tried to take on his usual tone, "I think I may have pulled a muscle in my neck. besides why would I need to look down at you when I can hear you from right here—"
The sound of lamb bleating interrupted him.
A beat of silence passed over the both of you.
Before the bleating came again, this time with more calls joining the one.
Loki's jaw snapped shut at the cacophony filling his ears, practically forgetting the rest of what he planned to say as he froze on the spot. by that point, he knew his plan had been foiled. now, all that was left for him to wait for was the lecture.
you didn't have to say anything.
he got caught before his scheme could work itself out.
because not even three seconds later, the tiny taps of hooves clinking against metal filled the air. A soft sound that was shortly accompanied by the sight of a dozen lambs and baby goats poking their heads over the rim of his helmet.
a mixture of relief and utter wonder at the sight was written on your face.
you simply just stared at the scene in silence for a good few minutes. silently processing the sight of your partner, a prince of giants—a man who was so feared among fellow that they cried out in fear at the mention of his name—looking down at you with an expression on his face that made him seem like he was a fox caught robbing the hen house. all with a dozen or so lambs hidden away on his head.
you had so many questions as to how they even managed to climb up there, or if it was even possible for them to do so without you noticing them.
you blinked at him once.
Then twice.
and finally, a third time, before you sucked in a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh.
"Loki…" you huffed, giving the giant you adored so deeply a pitying look, "honey, you know they have to leave before the sun goes down."
Loki's face scrunched up into a mixture of embarrassment and defiance. his long magenta hair swayed in the wind as he tilted his head back so the little ones wouldn't fall down to the ground below, just managing to keep his head in a position that would still allow him to make eye contact with you.
he was a stubborn man. sweet, but nonetheless stubborn. you knew in your gut that he wasn't going to hand over the lambs and goats easily.
"It hasn't even started setting yet." he claimed with a confident tone, gesturing with his finger towards the tree line, "it would be too late for you to walk back anyways, sweetheart. just spend the night here like last time."
your head turned in the direction he had pointed to.
"….Loki the sun is literally going down over the tree line—"
"THE STARS AIN'T OUT YET, DAMMIT! WE GOT ANOTHER THIRTY MINUTES."
eventually, you ended up caving and deciding to camp out with your flock next to the tree he had been chained to.
Not that you minded much. falling asleep nestled on Loki's shoulder, listening to his mighty heartbeat against your ear and the low rumble of his voice as he quietly watches over your sleeping form and the dozens of sheep and goats curled up at his feet by the fire.
The only thing that had surrounded Loki when he had been chained in the underworld were Thistles.
Spiky, determined little flowers that have decided to grow in the harshest of conditions. The giant prince couldnt exactly do anything with them, maybe he had shifted his leg to crush them and see if they sprung up again. Being chained up meant that you had a lot of boredom.
And then your ship had crashed in Elbaf, your crew had fallen to the storm and you had ended up in the underworld whilst trying to hide.
The snarling beasts were about to descend on you, but you had managed to slip under them. They were giant after all.
And god, you were like a stubborn thorn in his side ever since you stumbled upon him. He couldnt exactly do much to get you to actually away from him, no matter how many times he told you to piss off.
"Oi! Get the fuck out of my damn cape!"
Hed snarl, only for you to rest against the large cape that was pulled around his body.
"Hell no! Shove it you damn giant, its freezing here!"
And for once, Loki had met someone with no goddamn fear of him at all. And well, he couldn't help but be enchanted by the sass you had.
Eventually, Loki thought his beasts were working against him. As they kept nudging their muzzles towards the thistles. Like they were trying to get you to notice something. Its not Loki's fault that Thistles grew around him, he didnt know what they meant.
"Tch, you can take some of the damn things yknow. They keep tickling my damn legs. This damn overgrown garden is pissing me off."
He'd scowl, but maybe thats his way of giving you the flowers.
Thistles are known to symbolise strength, pain, protection and resilience. They thrive in the harshest of environments and they symbolise the ability to endure hardships.
And well, enduring Loki's existence seems to be enduring hardships. You know that you have accidentally become the giants only friend now, he may say that he wont, but he would protect you with all his strength.
It was a quiet day on the Red Force, tensions were slightly high as the crew had seen the sky split. That meant Whitebeard and their captain had clashed weapons.
The ship was docked at a nearby island, one that was full of Magnolia fields, their stunning white petals in bloom. Benn knew that his captain could handle himself, although he kept quietly looking through his scope every now and then to check. Maybe he wanted an excuse to shoot anyone dumb enough to even try and start something.
But alas, seems he was unlucky.
Every now and then, the Red Force would make its way back to Windmill village, for one, so Shanks and the crew could visit Makino's bar and relay news of their journeys and Luffys progress.
But also, so the first mate could see you.
You worked in a small florist shop, one that didnt have much variety due to the restrictive land of windmill village. Every now and then, Benn took clippings of dofferent flowers, only to bring them back to your shop so you could start growing more varieties. It was nice.
And you can damn count on it that every flower Beckman picked was a different colour or completely different strain of Magnolia.
"Here, brought some more. You need any help?"
Hed offer quietly as hed help you to carry some of the boxes hed brought. Rough hands that typically cleaned his rifle? Were now helping you to move aside soil and plant Magnolias.
Benn had quietly stolen a booklet of what flowers meant from your shop the first time he had met you. He knew what he was doing. Hed get you other flowers once it actually started clicking of what he was trying to tell you with the Magnolias.
"Ha, there we go. Only took two years. I thought you were good at understanding flower meanings? Y'know, being a florist and all"
"Yeah! For other people! I thought you pirates were supposed to be blunt!"
"Hah? Is that what I get for speaking your language?"
He'd tease you for a while after that. The cigarette smoke leaking out from his lips.
Magnolia's symbolised perseverance, honour and dignity. They were a quiet declaration of love and given in admiration.
And god, Benn had persevered every time that you didnt understand why he kept getting Magnolias for you. It was funny though. Shanks had laughed and called him hopeless after the first year that you hadn't noticed. But now you finally had.
Maybe it was a sign that the last thing that Pops had told Marco about was to get you a bouquet of Marigolds. The doctor hadn't understood the meaning back then about the orange flowers. He had responsibilities to the crew and to Whitebeard still...
But after Marineford? Yeah, Marco understood. More than anything.
The last order from Pops, the orange colour that reminded him of Ace. It was almost like these flowers were a massive flashing signal that Pops and Ace were teasing him from the grave and pushing him to confess to you already whilst he still had the time.
Marco had enjoyed life, but he had also put off a few deeper connections. His duty was to his family...and his family had fragmented, except you. You had practically dragged him by the collar and ran out of Marineford with him.
Forcing the doctor to keep living. That you both still had a job to do, that not all was lost. That Wano needed you.
And in Zou? And Wano?
More and more old allies and friends had told Marco about Marigolds. They were abundant in Zou and Wanda and Carrot had helped Marco get some of the brightest ones.
"Y/n, not the same colour as my flames, but I hope that they burn just as bright for you, yoi"
It was cheesy, the doctor always had a few puns for pickup lines that he had used on you in rare moments on the crew.
Buy it goddamn worked, the cheesy bastard always managed to make your heart beat faster.
"Think we should grow these around our place? Then you can wake up to them every day, yoi"
Marigolds. They symbolised warm affection, good luck, good fortune and love, but they were also a reminder of the fragility of life. Whilst some may view this as a sad reminder that life is short? The flowers actually acts as a reminder to enjoy everything that life has to offer whilst it is still there.
Dressrosa, you had been heavily injured when you had taken a hit from Trebol that was meant for Law.
You had been unconscious, but god, if you could have heart the amount of frantic swearing that constantly streamed from Law's mouth? Yeah, youd think the man was auditioning for a place in the Kid Pirates.
Its almost ironic that the flower that Law had meant to give you, was the flower that ended up saving you whilst you were recovering in your coma.
A vase of Jasmine flowers sat next to your bed. Law had quietly moved you and the equipment monitoring you towards your quarters. It was more comfortable than the infirmary.
The flowers helped you dream better. Jasmine flosers are used to help reduce stress, improve sleep and aid with healing wounds. Thats why Law had picked them for you. After all, he wouldnt get flowers unless they had multiple uses.
"Wake up. Or ill start sectioning your organs for the black market"
Law would mutter under his breath, even as he sat by your bed for the third day in a row. Making sure that he was awake to hear the slightest hitch of breath or sign of pain.
"...Please...wake up."
Quieter. Law hated it when people were hurt because of him. Especially his crew, he said he wouldnt get too attached and yet look at him. Staying by your side, gripping your hand, placing flowers to help ease any stress and help you heal faster...
Jasmine. Not only were they given for their healing properties. The flowers symbolised beauty, elegance, sensuality and devotion. To be with someone through good and bad.
