I mean, it’s canon that John Winchester wasn’t abusive. Sure, he wasn’t father of the year - but he did the best he could.

Mary didn’t want her children to grow up hunters, but John needed to do what he did. Imagine if Sammy and Dean hadn’t been raised as they were. If they’d had no knowledge of all things supernatural. They’d have died as children! And the whole vessel thing? The Apocalypse? The world would’ve burned to a crisp. John did the right thing.

Some of you may have seen the John Winchester post I commented on. Now, I would like to explain my rather violent reaction to it, and why I really hate John Winchester. If I didn't identify strongly with both Sam and Dean and the relationship they have with their father, I probably wouldn't have reacted the way I did. That said, any insult I may have accidentally caused, I apologize for and I really did not mean to cause it. I was tense because I had to go out into a large crowd and I wasn't feeling up to it physically or mentally. Full details to follow once I've got it all fleshed out and I'm on my computer.
